1.The concentration of serum calcitonin in the normal people (the quantitative analysis by the immunoradioactive method)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;394(2):13-15
The quantitative analysis of the concentration of serum calcitonin was carried out in 29 normal people with ages of 18-50. The results: this is a method with the high confidence; the average concentration of serum calcitonin is 5,74 Pg/ml; the minimal concentration at 0,00 commonly found, the maximal concentration is 22,6 Pg/ml; the distribution was not same as the rule of Gauss so the medial figure was 4,98pg/ml as preparesentative; there is no different of this concentration between male and female.

4.Quantification of blood level of calcitonine, thyroglobulin in healthy subjects and menopausal patients with osteoporosis
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):92-93
Healthy normal adult volunteers without endocrinological diseases, aged 18-45 and menopausal subjects (>45 years old of age) diagnosed definitly as osteoporosis, Results showed: blood level of calcitonin in healthy adults, male subjects with n=30, median 75, min.30, max 125pg/ml female subjects n=30, median 30, min 10, max 50pg/ml respectively. Calcitonin in male is higher than in female (p<0,05). In female subjects: menopausal patients with osteoporosis, calcitonin level is lower than normal woman in reproductive age (p<0,01). Thyroglobuline level in healthy adult is 13,58 4,2 ng/ml, with no cosiderable difference between male and female

6.Salmon-Calcitonin; Analgesic Effect and Influence on the Morphine Induced Analgesia.
Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1995;28(3):370-375
Calcitonin is a peptide hormone involved primarily in the regulation of calcium homeostasis. However, clinical observations have shown that calcitonin does in fact possess an analgesic effect in a variety of painful disorders. So I studied the analgesic effect of intracerebroventricularly(i.c.v.) administered salmon calcitonin(s-CT) using the hot plate test and writhing test. The influence on the analgesia induced by morphine and naloxone reversibility was also studied. When s-CT was administered i.c.v., analgesia was observed in both tests, although it was greater in the writhing test than in the hot plate test. The analgesic effect of s-CT was partially but significantly reversed by naloxone. Thus, these results provide information about the antinociceptive effect of s-CT via interaction with both opiate and non-opiate mechanisms.

Background & Objective: The calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) has a central role in the
pathogenesis of migraine, but variations in CGRP-related genes, including the calcitonin gene-related
polypeptide-alpha (CALCA) gene and the receptor activity modifying 1 (RAMP1) gene, have not been
found to link with migraine in Australian population. The goals of this study were to determine whether
variants in the two genes are related to migraine in Chinese population. Methods: Using a case-control
approach, rs3781719 and rs145837941 in the CALCA gene and rs3754701 and rs7590387 at the RAMP1
locus was analyzed in a cohort of 504 migraine cases and 529 ethnically matched controls. Genotyping
was performed using Sequenom MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry iPLEX platform. Results: The CALCA
gene rs145837941 variant was not found in migraine or control group. No significant difference in
genotypic and allelic distribution was observed in the other three polymorphisms between migraine
cases and controls. All the three SNPs were also not selected as significant factors that independently
contributed to susceptibility to migraine in multivariate analysis. In the subgroup analysis, the CALCA
rs3781719 seemed to be a significant risk for migraine with aura, but was not statistically significant
after FDR correction. Moreover, there was no synergistic relationship between the three SNPs in the
multifactor dimensionality reduction analysis for explore locus–locus interactions.
Conclusion: Our data suggested that variants in CALCA gene and RAMP1 gene were not associated
with migraine in the Han-Chinese population.
