Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(09):-
AIM: To set up the method for adsorbing and separating total flavone in Radix Puerariae and in Folium Crataegi. By macroreticular resin. METHODS: UV Spectrophotometry was used to analyze the content of total flavone in mixture. RESULTS: The D101 was the best for adsorbing and separating total flavone in the following technological conditions: the maximum adsorbing capacity for flavone in Radix Puerariae was 10.10mg?g -1; the maximum adsorbing capacity for flavone in Folium crataegi was 11.28mg?g -1; the current velocity was 3ml?min -1, the eluting reagent 80% ethanol (20 times the volume of medicinal herbs) and the eluting velocity 3ml?min -1. CONCLUSION: D101 resin could be used to refine the total flavone in Radix Puerariae and in the Folium Crataegi.

Objective To explore the clinicopathelogical features of resectable carcinoma of the head of (pancreas). Methods A retrospcctive analysis was made on the clinicopathological data of 102 patients with cancer of the head of pancreas, who had received pancreatoduodenectomy from Nanfang Hospital in January 1990 to January 2003. Results The incidence rate of the peri-pancreatic tissue infiltration was 74.5%,the infiltration rate of retroperitonealfat was 27.5% and the incidence rate of peri-pancreatic lymph-node (metastasis) was 71.6%. Metastasis rate of 21.1% was seen in the abdominal aorta lymph nodes. (Conclusions) Surgically resectable carcinoma of the pancreatic head is not equivalent to early cancer. The surgical area of radical resection of cancer of the pancreatic head should at least include pancreatoduodenectomy and clearance of regional soft tissue and lymph nodes. It may be more reasonable if the abdominal aorta lymph nodes were assigned to the first station of lymph drainage of carcinoma of head of the pancreas.

The highest unqualified rate of hygienic safety test on cosmetics was 17.28% for Ames test, next was 14.81% for chromosome aberration test on mammalian cells in vitro, 14.13% for eye irritation test and 10.88% for skin allergic reaction. Conclusion The management on the hygienic safety of cosmetics for special use should be strengthened further.

Objective: To determine the content of sanguinarine and chelerythrine in Macleaya microcarpa(Maxim) Fedde. Methods: RP-HPLC was adopted, kromasil C 18 column (150mm?4.6mm.5?m) with a mobile phase acetonitrile-0.1%(V/V) phosphoric acid solution(25∶75) by UV detector at 270nm. Results: The average recoveries of chelerythrine and sanguinarine were 90.2%,92.8%,RSD were 1.5%,2.4% respectively. Conclusion: A simple, rapid and sensitive method with good precision was established.

The content related to the quality during life-cycle in operation of medical device includes daily use, repair volume, preventive maintenance, quality control and adverse event monitoring. In view of this, the article aims at discussion on the quality evaluation method of medical devices during their life cycle in operation based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The presented method is proved to be effective by evaluating patient monitors as example. The method presented in can promote and guide the device quality control work, and it can provide valuable inputs to decisions about purchase of new device.

Objective To approach the value of combination mode of different CT post-processing technique in diagnosing rib fine fracture. Methods 98 patients suspected with rib fractures underwent multislice spiral CT(MSCT) scanning, and CT features of rib fractures were observed with the combination of three different images:(A)volume rendering(VR),curved planar reformation(CPR) and axial view;(B)maximum intensity projection(MIP),CPR and sxial view;and(C) VR+MIP,CPR and axial view. The results were respectively recorded. Results 265 rib fine fractures were found among 98 patients. The detecting rate of fine fractures with C group was higher than that with A group (χ~2=6.67,P<0.01) and B group (χ~2=6.75,P<0.01).Conclusion MSCT four step observation method can improve the detecting rate of rib fine fracture, that is of important clinical value.

Objective To develop a more convenient and stable method for assessment of drug sensitivity of prostate cancer based on real-time cell analysis system as a reference for clinical treatment. Methods Human prostate cancer VCaP, DU145, PC-3, PC-3M-2B4 and PC-3M-IE8 cells were chosen to detect the sensitivity to three drugs, docetaxel, cabazitaxel and abiraterone acetate.Serial dilutions of the three drugs were used to treat the cell culture for 24 hours. The drug-induced effects on the cell lines after an incubation of 24 hours were recorded by the real-time cell analysis system to determine the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50).Results Docetaxel showd IC50 of 8.81 nmol/L, 11.61 nmol/L, 1.78 nmol/L, 1.44 nmol/L, 8.69 nmol/L for VCaP, DU145, PC-3, PC-3M-2B4, PC-3M-IE8 cells, respectively.Cabazitaxel showed IC50 of 3.73 nmol/L, 3.96 nmol/L, 10.41 nmol/L, 5.43 nmol/L, and 7.37 nmol/L, respectively, for the five cell lines.Abiraterone acetate showed IC50 of 8.34 μmol/L, 8.60 μmol/L, 24.20 μmol/L, 8.59 μmol/L, and 13.21 μmol/L for the five cell lines. Conclusions PC-3M-2B4 and DU145, VCaP and PC-3 cells can be used as control for docetaxel, cabazitaxel and abiraterone acetate to establish cell models for the drug screening in vitro and to provide reference for clinical applications.

Objective To analyze the imaging characteristics and to evaluate the application value of color doppler ultrasonography (CDUS)combined with CT angiography (CTA)and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA)in patients with cervical vertigo. Methods 62 patients diagnosed with cervical vertigo clinically were enrolled.Neck CDUS and neck CTA were per-formed on 39 patients.Neck CDUS and neck CE-MRA were performed on 23 patients.Neck CDUS and CTA/MRA were performed on 30 normal volunteers, which were chosen as control group.Neck CDUS and neck CTA were performed on 18 normal volunteers. Neck CDUS and neck CE-MRA were performed on 12 normal volunteers.Hemodynamics and morphology were evaluated and com-pared between the two groups. Results In aspect of morphology:The incidence of vertebral artery (VA)stenosis (46.77%)and VA variation (29.03%)in cervical vertigo group were higher than VA stenosis (23.33%)and VA variation (6.67%)in control group with significant difference (all P <0.05).The incidence of tortuous VA showed no statistics difference between cervical vertigo group (1 1.29%)and control group (13.33%)(P >0.05).In aspect of hemodynamics:The decline incidence of peak systolic velocity de-tected by CDUS in cervical vertigo group (66.13%)was higher than that in control group (10.00%)with statistically significant difference (P <0.05).The peak systolic velocity decline incidence of VA stenosis (86.21% )and VA variation (72.22%)were high-er than that of VA tortuous (28.57%)and VA normal (12.50%)patients in cervical vertigo group. Conclusion The application of CDUS combined with CTA or CE-MRA could provide valuable diagnostic and therapeutic information for cervical vertigo in the as-pects of change in vascular morphology and cerebral hemodynamics, which could further provide objective basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.
