Objective To evaluate Jiangxia umbilical therapy on the quality of life in patients with gastric carcinoma chemotherapy after surgery. Methods Patients with gastric carcinoma chemotherapy after surgery in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University from January 2016 to December 2016 were chosen as the research subjects.According to the time of chemotherapy, the patients were divided into two groups.Patients with gastric carcinoma chemotherapy in hospital from January 2016 to June 2016 were chosen as control group, while patients in hospital from July 2016 to December 2016 were chosen as observation group. Before chemotherapy, the control group was given tropisetron hydrochloride intravenous injection, while the observation group added Jiangxia umbilical on the basis of this.Nausea and vomiting in the two groups were observed after treatment.Quality of Life Questionnaire of Stomach 22 was applied to analyze and compare the patients' quality of life. Results The incidence rate of anti nausea in the observation group was 88.10%,which in the control group was 61.90%,the difference was statistically significant (x2 =9.571,P < 0.05).The overall quality of life in observation group was significantly better than that in the control group [(20.34 ±:5.84) points vs.(14.32 ± 5.97) points,t =8.686,P < 0.01].The scores in the observation group on the quality of life in the aspects of total score, anxiety scale, reflux scale, eating restricted scale, dry mouth, tastes changing had statistically significant differences compared with the indicators in the control group (all P < 0.05).Conclusion Jiangxia umbilical therapy can not only relieve the chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting of patients with gastric carcinoma chemotherapy after surgery, but also can improve their quality of life.

Objective To observe the effect of kinesiotherapy-combined scalp acupuncture plus rehabilitation on the joint range of motion (ROM) and activities of daily life (ADL) in kids with spastic cerebral palsy. Method Fifty-one eligible patients with spastic cerebral palsy were divided into a treatment group of 23 cases and a control group of 28 cases by the random number table. The control group received conventional rehabilitation, whereas the treatment group received kinesiotherapy-combined scalp acupuncture in addition to the rehabilitation therapy. Before and after treatment, a joint protractor was used to measure the passive ROM of ankle, knee, and hip joints; the Modified Ashworth Scale was used to evaluate the muscular tension of the adductor muscles of lower limbs, hamstring muscles, and gastrocnemius; the scale for ADL was adopted to evaluate the ADL. Result The joint ROM was significantly improved by different degrees in the treatment group after intervention (P<0.05), and the popliteal angle and dorsal flexion of foot in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05). In the treatment group, the muscular tension of hamstring muscles and gastrocnemius after treatment was significantly different from that before treatment (P<0.05); the change of the muscular tension of gastrocnemius in the treatment group after intervention was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05); the change of ADL in the treatment group after intervention was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Kinesiotherapy-combined scalp acupuncture plus conventional rehabilitation can markedly improve the ROM and ADL in patients with spastic cerebral palsy.

Sphingolipids as an important regulator play a critical role in the cell biological functions. Among them, ceramide (Cer) and sphingosine (Sph) induce apoptosis and inhibit cell proliferation; on the contrary sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) promotes cell survival and proliferation. The balance between ceramide/sphingosine and S1P forms a so-called "sphingolipid-rheostat", which decides the cell fate. Sphingosine kinases, which catalyze the phosphorylation of sphingosine to S1P, are critical regulators of this balance. Here, we review the role of sphingosine kinase 1 (SphK1) in regulating fundamental biological processes and tumorigenesis and the potential of SphK1 as a new target for cancer therapeutics.

Objective To discuss the correlation between residual urine volume after catheterization and body positions for patients with spinal cord injury using B-ultrasonography. Methods 34 patients with spinal cord injury were randomly selected, the residual urine volume in urinary bladder was detected with bed-side B-ultrasonography under different body positions such as supine position, lateral position and fowler position, the results underwent variance analysis. Results No significant difference was seen in residual urine volume in urinary bladder under different body positions. Conclusions Body positions play no significant influence on residual urine volume in urinary bladder after catheterization.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2009;11(2):148-150
Objective To evaluate the function of peripheral vessels, the change of ankle-brachial Index (ABI) and toe-brachial Index (TBI), and its related risk factors in elderly type 2 diabetic patients were observed. Methods Doppler frequency spectrum was used on lower limb of 128 type 2 diabetic patients and 103 non-diabetic people. ABI and TBI were calculated, other indexes including body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), hypersensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high density lipopretein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), fasting blood glucose(FBG), postprandial blood glucose (PPBG) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlC) were measured. Results ABI and TBI were decreased in T2DM group as compared with control group (P<0.05), and hs-CRP was increased in T2DM group. With multiple stepwise regression, it showed that ABI and TBI was negatively related with age, SBP and T2DM duration, while ABI was positively correlated with HDL. In multiple logistic regression, cigarette, age, high blood pressure(HBP) and T2DM duration were independent risk factors with respective odds ratios of 1.94 (P<0.05), 2.12(P<0.01), 2.74(P<0.05) and 1.59(P<0.05), respectively. Conclusion Older age, T2DM duration, ciga-rette, hyperglycosema, HBP, low HDL and high bs-CRP play important roles in the occurrence and development of peripheral vascular dis-ease (PVD) in elderly type 2 diabetic patients. PVD of type 2 diabetic patients can be found earlier with Doppler diagnostic instrument.
