Journal of Practical Stomatology 2016;32(6):791-795
Objective:To observe the effect of two different apical surgery timing. Methods:68 patients with periapical lesion were divided into 2 groups. 30 patients( control group) were operated by apical surgery at least 1-2 months after root canal therapy( RCT) , while 38 patients(experimental group) were operated immediately after RCT. The patients were followed up 3, 6 and 12 months after apical surgery. Results:The curative effect analysed with the age, sex and tooth position showed no statistical difference between 2 groups(P>0. 05). Conclusion:Immediate and delayed apical surgery apical surger after RCT are similarly effective.

To investigate the distribution characteristics and linkage disequilibrium of T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain protein 4 (TIM4) promoter polymorphisms in asthma patients of Chinese Han population, the promoter region of TIM4 was re-sequenced by PCR-sequencing, and linkage disequilibrium was analyzed by SHEsis software. Four single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the promoter region of TIM4 were detected, including two new SNPs (at positions-1609,-153) and two reported SNPs (rs6874202, rs6882076). The frequency distribution of rs6882076 was different among different races (P<0.05). In addition, linkage disequilibrium among the SNPs of the promoter region of TIM4 was found and GGTG was the predominant haplotype. There were four SNPs in the promoter region of TIM4 in asthma patients of Chinese Han population, which were in linkage disequilibrium.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupoint thread embedding in preventing urinary retention after cervical cancer surgery.Method Fifty eligible patients were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 25 cases each. The control group was given catheterization after gynecological surgery; the treatment group was intervened by thread embedding at Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Yinlingquan (SP9), Guanyuan (CV4), and Shenshu (BL23) on the 7th day after the surgery in addition to the basic intervention given to the control group. The indwelling catheter was removed on the 14th day after the surgery, and the bladder function, urination, and residual urine volume were compared between the two groups.Result After the treatment, the bladder function in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05); the markedly effective rate of spontaneous micturition was 92.0% in the treatment group versus 72.0% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Early intervention with acupoint thread embedding after cervical cancer surgery can effectively decrease the incidence of post-surgery urinary retention, and it's easy-to-operation and worth application in clinic.

Objective To investigate the mechanical prosperity and degradation rate of the scaffolds with compounding collagen and the nano sol-gel derived bioactive glass were studied, and provide the theoretical basis for the further application of collagen based scaffolds.Method The scaffold with compounding collagen and the nano sol-gel derived bioactive glass(58S)were prepared using the freeze-drying techniques with the bioactive glass as phase addition.By affecting the aggregation state of the collagen fibers with adjusting the supplementation of bioactive glass to change the microstructures of the compound scaffolds and finatly the compound scaffolds with different mechanical properties were prepared. Results (1)As the aggregation state of the collagen fibers changes, the scaffolds with the coarser collagen fibers is prepared with the diameters 400-600 nm approximately. The coarser collagen fibers will play an important role in improving the mechanical property and slowing down the degradation rate of the collagen based scaffolds.(2)The interactions between bioactive glass and collagen are studied by FTIR and Raman technologies. When the quality of content of collagen in the compound scaffolds is lower than 20%,the secondary structure of collagen is damaged severely. Conclusion The composite scaffolds with the mass ratio of collagen to bioactive glass 40:60 has the best performance in mechanical property and degradation, which will be helpful for further applications.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the bacterial succession on rat carcasses and to evaluate the use of bacterial succession for postmortem interval (PMI) estimation.
METHODS:
Adult female SD rat remains were placed in carton boxes. The bacterial colonization of circumocular skin, mouth and vagina was collected to be identified using culture-dependent biochemical methods. The changes in community composition were regularly documented.
RESULTS:
The bacterial succession in three habitats showed that Staphylococcus and Neisseria were predominated in early PMI, especially Staphylococcus aureus and Neisseria lactamica in 6 hours after death. Lactobacillus casei developed on the 3-4 days regularly, and kept stable at a certain level in late PMI.
CONCLUSION
The involvement of normal and putrefactive bacteria in three body habitats of rat remains can be used for PMI estimation.

Objective To study the characteristics of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens and the cost of prevention and control, and provide evidence for policy making in medical institutions. Methods A prospective study was conducted to collect the data and follow-up data about occupational exposure of health care workers(HC-Ws)from the occupational exposure reporting system of a hospital between June 1,2016 and May 30,2017.Results There were 95 cases of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.Occupational exposure occurred mainly in June,July, and November, peak time for occurrence was 12∶00 at noon. The main occupations of HCWs who sustained occupational exposure were nurses (41.05%),doctors (28.42%),and practice nurses (15.79%).The main departments of occupational exposure were central operating room (21.05%), emergency department (1 1.58%),and interventional radiology department (6.32%).The total cost of prevention and control for 95 times of occupational exposures were 33 235.20 Yuan, with an average of 349.84 Yuan per case. The average cost per case after human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)exposure was the highest (2 787.50 Yuan);and cost of syphilis exposure was the lowest (58.88 Yuan). Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen the training and education of high-risk time,high-risk population, and high-risk departments of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens,pre-vention of occupational exposure with high cost of prevention and control such as HIV should be especially paid attention.

OBJECTIVETo observe the angiogenesis promoting effects of clinical common used Chinese herbal medicines (CHM) for activating blood circulation to remove stasis on chick embryo chorio-allantoic membrane (CAM).
METHODSChicken CAM model was established and mice blood serum containing different kinds of medicines, including Radix Peaoniae rubra, Radix Angelicae sinensis, Flos Carthami, Rhizoma Chuanxiong, Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae, Astragalus membranaceus, and their complex prescriptions, Danggui Buxue Decoction, Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction, Xiongshao Capsule, was applied on it respectively to observe the condition of angiogenesis 72 hrs after incubation. Besides, the normal saline group, blank serum group, blank group and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) group were set up for control.
RESULTSAll the CHM applied and bFGF had the CAM angiogenetic promoting effect, among them, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae and the three complex prescriptions showed better effects than the three negative control groups in capillary formation and count, with the efficacy similar to that of bFGF. The effect of complex prescriptions was superior to that of single herb except Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae.
CONCLUSIONRadix Salviae miltiorrhizae, Danggui Buxue Decoction, Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction and Xiongshao Capsule have good angiogenesis promoting effect on CAM. This study elucidated, from a certain aspect, the mechanism of action of CHM on ischemic diseases, and unfolded the scientific evidence of applying complex prescription.
