The establishment of quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine system that not only accords with Chinese medicine function characteristics but also is recognized as international medical circles, is an arduous task in urgent need of solving the current modernization of traditional Chinese medicine in the process of internationalization. It is difficult to evaluate atraditional Chinese medicine by detection of single active components in traditional Chinesemedicinewiththe western medicine quality controlmethod due to the overall effects of traditional Chinese drugs, the components of the overall diversity, targets, and the complexity of the interaction between components of unpredictable make the Long-term since, domestic and foreign scholars continue to explore and put forward a series of quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine. This article summarized the related academic ideas and developments to, providea new thought and perspective for the quality control of traditional Chinese medicine.

The occurrence of exercise-induced fatigue can be delayed and exercise endurance can be strengthened by removing lactic acid, decreasing serum creatine kinase, elevating hemoglobin, maintaining blood glucose, eliminating free radical, regulating amino acid metabolism and retaining heart rate with transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS). Problems in the above researching field are generalized in this paper. For instance, the point selection is relatively simple; the selection of wave band, frequency and duration during the application of TEAS apparatus are not unified; and observation indices mainly remained in the aspect of biochemistry. It also prospects the future directions of TEAS relieving exercise-induced fatigue including selecting acupuncture point by differentiation of symptoms and signs, setting uniform standards for TEAS, and studying the mechanisms of TEAS relieving exercise-induced fatigue by testing gonadal axis, adrenal axis, gene and protein.

Objective In this paper we analyzed the major risk factors of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) as well as its clinical manifestation,so as to provide a basis for clinical diagnosis and effective control of HFRS in Xi'an.Methods The method of retrospective study was used to collect clinical data of hospitalized patients with HFRS between 2005 and 2010 in the Hospitals for Infectious Diseases in Xi'an city,Zhouzhi and Huxian counties and then clinical manifestations of the patients with HFRS were analyzed and classified according to the national standards for clinical symptoms and test indicators of HFRS.HFRS patients matched by the ratio of 1 ∶ 2 healthy human controls were retrospectively investigated in order to obtain risk factors relevant to HFRS incidence using casecontrol study.Odds ratio(OR) method was used for single factor study. While for the multifactor study,we took the conditional Logistic regression approach. We also built models for both studies.Factor with OR > 1 and P < 0.05 was judged to be a risk factor. Results A total of 3090 cases information of patients with HFRS and 6018 healthy controls were collected.Of the 3090 cases of HFRS patients, sixty vaccinated patients showed atypical clinical manifestations and they were mild or moderate cases and no deaths.A total of 3030 nonvaccinated patients had obvious clinical symptoms.Severe or critical cases accounted for 39.07%(1184/3030)and 60 patients died and the fatality rate was 1.98% (60/3030).The results of single factor Logistic regression analysis showed that of the 16 factors analyzed, the difference of 11 risk factors between the case group and the control group was statistically significant.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that of the 11 factors, the difference of six factors between the case group and the control group was statistically significant. The main risk factors of suffering HFRS in the order were:exposure to rat pollutants, living in the affected areas, sitting or lying on grass fields in the affected areas, working in the affected areas, house rat infestation, and domesticated cats or dogs(OR =6.826,5.764,4.882,4.857,3.126 and 2.875; P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).Conclusions Vaccines are very useful in the sense that vaccinated HFRS patients tend to have mild symptoms and good prognosis.Health education in this area should be focused on the six risk factors in order to prevent the spreading of HFRS.

Background The condition of the sclera is associated with many ocular diseases. The measurement of human scleral thickness in vivo is helpful for us to understand the features of the sclera and related diseases. Objective The present study was to measure the anterior sclera thickness(AST) in patients with senile cataract and to analyze the relationship among AST and other associated ocular parameters. Methods This study was approved by the Ethic Commission of First Hospital of Peking University.Written informed consent was obtained from each individual prior to examination. One hundred and five senile cataract patients were recruited in this study.Central corneal thickness (CCT),corneal curvature (CCV) and axial length were measured using ultrasonic pachymeter, keratometer, and A-scan unit, respectively. The AST was measured at 2 mm posterior to the scleral spur in the temporal meridian using ultrasound biomicroscope (UBM).The differences of CCT,CCV,ocular axial length and AST between bilateral eyes and the different sexes were compared by the Paired test and independent sample t test. The correlations among various parameters were assessed by the Pearson linear correlation analysis. The differences of CCT and AST among different axial length groups were evaluated by one-way ANOVA.Results No significant differences were found in the CCT,CCV,axial length and AST between bilateral eyes (t =0.584,P =0.561 ; t =1.161,P =0.248 ; t =0.140,P =0.889 ; t =0.342,P =0.773).Temporal AST at 2 mm posterior to the sclera spur was (0.589 ±0.051)mm in the right eyes.An insignificant decline in CCT was found in the male group compared with the female group (right eyes:t =0.469,P =0.641 ; left eyes:t =0.465,P =0.643).However,compared with the female group, the increase of axial length, reduction of the mean CCV value and enhancement of the mean AST were observed(right eyes:all P<0.01 ;left eyes:all P<0.01).CCV showed a negative correlation with ocular axial length (r =-0.50,P<0.01),but no significant correlation was found among age,CCT,ocular axial length and AST(P>0.05).No remarkable differences were found in CCT and AST among the various axial length groups (CCT:F =0.998,P=0.372;AST:F=1.919,P=0.383).Conclusions In senile cataract patients, correlation is not found between AST and CCT;the increase of axial length is not associated with the thinning of the eyeball wall to a certain extent.Differences exist in some ocular parameters between different sexes.

Objective:To investigate the feasibility of using anastomotic stoma as a long-term vascular access to maintain hemodialysis in patients who cannot establish an effective vascular access after ACUSEAL graft occlusion. Methods:A rare case of brachial artery-right atrium ACUSEAL artificial blood vessel fistula bypass to establish vascular access occlusion, the use of artificial blood vessel anastomosis stoma to establish buttonhole puncture as a long-term vascular access and the corresponding nursing methods. Results:At present, the patients were treated with regular dialysis for 32 months and blunt needle puncture for 23 months. Conclusions:Brachial artery-right atrium ACUSEAL graft is a rare vascular access surgery. As a new type of access with depleted autologous vascular resources, the efficacy is not certain. Because it is different from the traditional vascular prosthesis surgery, once the thrombotic occlusion of the graft fails, the risk and difficulty of reopening by interventional or surgical methods are great. Therefore, it is a challenging and reasonable method to use the limited residual cavity of the anastomosis as a long-term vascular access after occlusion to prolong the service life of the graft.
