The establishment of quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine system that not only accords with Chinese medicine function characteristics but also is recognized as international medical circles, is an arduous task in urgent need of solving the current modernization of traditional Chinese medicine in the process of internationalization. It is difficult to evaluate atraditional Chinese medicine by detection of single active components in traditional Chinesemedicinewiththe western medicine quality controlmethod due to the overall effects of traditional Chinese drugs, the components of the overall diversity, targets, and the complexity of the interaction between components of unpredictable make the Long-term since, domestic and foreign scholars continue to explore and put forward a series of quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine. This article summarized the related academic ideas and developments to, providea new thought and perspective for the quality control of traditional Chinese medicine.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(10):-
Objective To investigate the effect of angiotensin Ⅱ(AngⅡ) and losartan on ? cells, and its related molecular mechanisms. Methods Normally cultured RIN-m cells were divided into three groups:control group(cultured with RPMI 1640 medium),AngⅡ group(treated with 100 nmol/L AngⅡ),losartan group(treated with 1 ?mol/L losartan 15min before addition of 100nmol/L AngⅡ).After incubation for another 48h,the apoptosis rate of RIN-m cells was quantified by flow cytometry(FCM) with Annexin-V FITC/PI dual staining. The expressions of Bcl-2 and Bax mRNA and protein were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting, and the activities of Caspase 3 and Caspase 9 were detected by spectrophotometry. Results The apoptosis rate of RIN-m cells was significantly higher in AngⅡgroup than in both control and losartan group(P0.05).In comparison to the control group, the expressions of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein significantly declined, while of Bax mRNA and protein increased obviously in AngⅡ group(P0.05),but the expressions of Bcl-2 mRNA and protein were significantly higher(P0.05).Conclusion AngⅡ may induce the apoptosis of ? cells through mitochondrial pathway, and pre-intervention with losartan, which partly reverses the effect of AngⅡ,may play a protective effect on ? cells.

OBJECTIVE:To improve the process efficiency of automatic dispensation machine before dispensing. METHODS:After building quality control circle(QCC)in the hospital inpatient, according to the steps of QCC,the key links and factors that affect process efficiency of automatic dispensation machine before dispensing were found out, corresponding countermeasures were developed based on causes, then it was evaluated by process time and other indexes in dispensing before and after the development of QCC. RESULTS:The 2 links(removing the drug packaging, manually counting and developing add-drug list)with the longest time before dispensing improved work efficiency by setting add-drug quantity and variety truly, timing checking dispensation medi-cine,timely counting dispensation medicine drug list, strengthening training and other methods, process time of automatic dispensa-tion machine before dispensing was shortened from 179.8 min(before)to 119.2 min(after)(shortened by 33.7%),target achieve-ment rate was 168.5%;and QCC staff showed positive growth in means, responsibility, team cohesion, and other aspects (increase rate were 15%-81%). CONCLUSIONS:QCC shows obvious effect on improving process efficiency of automatic dispen-sation machine before dispensing.

Radix bupleuri is mainly used to treat cold fever and liver disease, and the curative effect is remarkable. The prepara-tions previously explored including bupleurum injection, tablets and capsules all show their own characters and different applicable peo-ple. Recently, many researchers carried out extensive research on its dosage forms. The early formulations have been improved as well, and successively developed dropping pill, nasal sprays, transdermal patches and the other new dosage forms. In the paper, the recent research progress in bupieurum preparations were summarized in order to provide reference for the improvement and application.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of perioperative administration of rhubarb on the acute inflammatory response in patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: In this prospective, single-blinded, controlled clinical trial, thirty-one patients with gastric cancer operatively treated were randomly divided into two groups, with 14 patients in control group and 17 in study group. Patients in both groups were given an isocaloric and isonitrogenous enteral diet. The enteral diet was started 36 hours after operation, and continued for 6 days. Patients in the study group were fed with rhubarb before operation, and at 1 day and 2 days after operation. Indexes of acute inflammatory response such as serum C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), and indexes of nutritional status such as serum albumin (ALB), prealbumin (PA) and transferrin (TRF) were measured before operation, and at 1 day, 3 and 7 days after operation. RESULTS: Patients in both groups had acute inflammatory response, and the indexes of nutritional status decreased after operation.IL-6, CRP and TNF-alpha tested at 3 and 7 days after operation were lower in the study group as compared with those in the control group, and the recovery time of gastrointestinal motility such as borborygmus, gas elimination and defecation was shorter in the study group as compared with that in the control group. The indexes of nutritional status showed no significant differences between two groups after operation. CONCLUSION: Rhubarb can positively modulate the acute inflammatory response, promote the recovery of postoperative gastrointestinal motility, and benefit enteral nutrition support in patients who have undergone major operations for gastric cancer.

Objective: To study the UPLC-MS fingerprint of Bupleurum marginatum DC. in northwest Hubei and establish the quality evaluation system for the herb. Methods:A UPLC-MS method was used to analyze 10 samples of B. marginatum DC with the following chromatographic conditions:an ACQUITY UPLC? RBEH C18 column (100 mm × 2. 1 mm, 1. 7 μm) was used, the mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0. 3% formic acid water with gradient elution, the flow rate was 0. 2 ml·min-1, and the detection wavelength was 203nm with ESI(-). Results:There were 8 common peaks in the UPLC-MS fingerprint of B. marginatum DC. Through analyzing the information of mass spectrometry and combining the references, 6 peaks were identified. Conclusion:The UPLC-MS fin-gerprint method is simple, rapid and feasible. The acquired UPLC-MS fingerprint of B. marginatum DC. and the evaluation indices can provide the scientific quality assessment of B. marginatum DC.
