Objective To investigate the migration pathway and feature of neuronal precursors in normal adult rats and provide theory and experiment basis for the neuronal migration under pathological condition. Methods The adult rat brains were cut into 20 ?m coronal and sagittal sections on a freezing microtome. Immunohistochemistry was applied to observe the migration pathway and feature of DCX-expressing cells. Results There were two migration pathways with the neuronal precursors in normal adult rats. One was the rostral migratory stream (RMS) from the subventricular zone to the olfactory bulb, another appeared to travel in a chain along the interface between cortex and corpus callosum. The DCX-positive cells in the RMS had the fusiform somata with a single leading process and the process orientated to the olfactory bulb, while the DCX-positive cells around the corpus callosum had similarly round somata and the size, number and orientation of process were of diversity. Conclusion The study of neuronal precursors migrating not only contributes to identify the migration mechanisms, but also contributes to the control of neuronal migration and designs some effective therapy strategies.

Objective To investigate the influence of dynamic contraction to antagonist coactivity ratios during the stroke patient's knees exercise passively initiatively and resistively. Methods 24 stroke patients as observation group and 17 normal subjects as control group had performed dynamic contractions in knee flexion and extension. The electromyography signals were collected by surface electrode and then processed by linear time-and frequency-domain method. And then the antagonistic coactivity ratio was analyzed with factors statistics. Results The antagonist coactivity ratios of MF(median frequency) and MPF(mean power frequency) in paretic side of patients got high significantly but in non-paretic side got low significantly. But the antagonistic coactivity ratios of AEMG(average EMG) in paretic side got low and in non-paretic side got high significantly (P<0.01). The antagonist coactivity ratios of MF and AEMG in activity side were lower than in non-activity side (P<0.05). The antagonist coactivity ratios of MPF in exercise passively were lower significantly. The antagonist coactivity ratios of AEMG were lower following as the work load increased (P<0.001).Conclusion The motor unites are collected excessively in antagonist from paretic side of the stroke patient. The level of the synchronization of the excitement got low. The muscle strength got weak. But both the motor unites collected and the motor unites excited in antagonist from non-paretic side are excessive. The muscle strength get strong.

Objective · To investigate the intention of quitting smoking and influencing factors among husbands in gestational households in Shanghai and provide a scientific basis for establishing smoking cessation strategies. Methods · Pregnant women and their spouses who received antenatal examination in 5 hospitals in Shanghai were asked to finish two versions of questionnaires respectively. Basic demographic information, smoking history, history of smoking cessation and intention of quitting smoking were investigated. The database was set up by EpiData 3.1, and data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0, such as descriptive analysis, χ2 test (univariate), and Logistic regression analysis (multivariate). Results · A total of 282 questionnaires were sent to smoking husbands and 266 effective questionnaires got back with the effective rate of 94.3%. Among them 34.2% smoking husbands had intention of quitting smoking, 18.4% were trying to quit, and 22.9% had tried to quit before. Single-factor analysis showed that influencing factors for intention of quitting smoking among smoking husbands in gestational households included the daily cigarette consumption, overall opinion for smoking, the knowledge about the harm of passive smoking to pregnant women and fetuses, having smoking cessation experience or not, how many people smoking among five intimate friends except family members (P<0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that intention of quitting smoking had relationship with the daily cigarette consumption (OR = 0.456, 95% CI: 0.245 ~ 0.852), overall opinion for smoking(OR=2.443, 95% CI: 1.008 ~ 5.921), having smoking cessation experience or not (OR =0.316, 95% CI: 0.162 ~ 0.616). Conclusion · Intention of quitting smoking is relatively strong in gestational households. It is recommended to strengthen the education of tobacco control for smoking husband in gestational households, and encourage smokers who had smoking cessation experience before to quit smoking again.

Objective To establish a new technique isolating pancreatic islet of langerhans and evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of adult islet transplantation. Methods Pancreases were stored using the "2-layer method" of the oxygenated perfluorochemical (PFC) and UW solution. The Pancreases were digested by Liberase collagenase enzyme and purified using continuous gradients of Ficoll-diatrizoic acid on a refrigerated COBE 2991 centrifuge to separate the islets. Cultured islets were infused by surgical approach to the liver via portal vasculature. Clinical metabolic data such as blood glucose, dose of insulin, C-peptide, HbA1c, liver function and renal function, was determined and compared with the pre-transplant data. Results Islets of langerhans were isolated successfully in 42 pancreases. The average of islet yield was 285000 islet equivalents(IEQ). Islet purity and viability were 95.7%, 93.2%, respectively. The stimulation index(SI) as assessing function of human islet was 2.43 and negative-etiology in vivo. Twenty clinical islet transplant infusions have been carried out in 11 subjects with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM). The average islet mass for infusion was 11200 IEQ/kg. The treatment strategies for islet transplantation was glucocorticoid-free immunosuppressive regimen. During 7 months to 4 years follow-up, 7 recipients had insulin independence, the dosage of insulin decreased by 60% in 4 patients after islet transplantation. The level of blood glucose and HbA1c, liver and renal function were normalized throughout follow-up period. All patients had C-peptide positive after islet transplantation. No adverse effects and complications related to islet infusion procedure. Conclusions New technique has proved to be suitable for isolating pancreatic islet of langerhans. Adult islet transplantation can be used as an effective and safe way for treating T1DM.
