Uncoupling protein 2(UCP2)is a proton transporter which presents in the mitochondrial inner membrane. Recent studies have found that UCP2 plays important roles in protecting mitochondria functions,re-ducing mitochondrial ROS generation by inducing proton leak across the inner mitochondrial membrane and pro-moting mild uncoupling which leading to a decrease in the mitochondrial inner membrane′s potential. Because of its antioxidant function,UCP2 has been studied in several domains. This review provides novel insights into the molecular mechanisms,by which the activity of UCP2 is regulated and describe novel findings concerning basical experiments of UCP2.

Objective: To investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice of hepatitis B prevention and control among junior high school students in Linping District, Hangzhou City, so as to provide insights into management of hepatitis B among adolescents. Methods: Two classes were sampled using a cluster sampling method from grades 2 in 12 public junior high schools in Linping District, and all students in these two classes were enrolled. Students' knowledge, attitude and practice of hepatitis B prevention and control were collected using questionnaire surveys, and factors affecting knowledge, attitude and practice of hepatitis B prevention and control were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model. Results: A total of 1 102 questionnaires were allocated and 1 094 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 99.27%. The respondents included 540 males (49.36%) and 554 females (50.64%), and 542 rural students (49.54%) and 552 urban students (50.46%). The awareness of hepatitis B prevention and control knowledge was 43.60%, and a low awareness rate was seen for the item “use of condom may prevent hepatitis B” (21.12%). The percentage of correct attitudes towards hepatitis B prevention and control was 57.77%, and a low percentage was found for the item “individuals living with hepatitis B will tell others” (38.67%). The percentage of positive practices towards hepatitis B prevention and control was 80.07%, and a low percentage was seen for the item “hepatitis B vaccines have been inoculated in recent five years” (16.54%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified gender (females, OR=1.483, 95%CI: 1.159-1.898), household registration (urban, OR=1.300, 95%CI: 1.011-1.670), and parental highest educational level (high school or technical secondary school, OR=0.703, 95%CI: 0.532-0.929) as factors affecting the awareness of hepatitis B prevention and control knowledge among junior high students, and parental highest educational level (high school or technical secondary school, OR=0.705, 95%CI: 0.533-0.934) and serving as class cadres (OR=1.449, 95%CI: 1.128-1.860) were factors affecting the attitudes hepatitis B prevention and control, while household registration (urban, OR=1.566, 95%CI: 1.144-2.143) and route of acquiring hepatitis B control knowledge (internet or magazine, OR=0.473, 95%CI: 0.288-0.776) were factors affecting the formation of practices towards hepatitis B prevention and control. Conclusions The overall awareness of and percentage of attitudes towards hepatitis B prevention and control, and the percentage of hepatitis B vaccination are low among junior high school students in Linping District. Targeted health education pertaining to hepatitis B prevention and control is required to be reinforced and promotion of hepatitis B vaccination is recommended.

Strengthening the construction of supervisor team has great effects on the improvement of the quality of postgraduate education.Some problems exist in China's current situation of the construction of supervisor team.For example,the quality of supervisors needs to be improved,the quantitative evaluation system is not scientific,the quantity of professional degree supervisors is not enough,and the dynamic evaluation mechanism is imperfect and so on.Strengthening the construction of supervisor team from the development of scientific and rational quantitative evaluation index system,the selection of professional degree supervisors,the enhancement of supervisor training and some other aspects,can effectively improve the quality of postgraduate education.

On the basis of experimental records standardization, 3 level inspection system including tutors, departments and graduate school plays a very important role in setting up the good habit, getting more reliable experimental results and preventing the happening of misconduct in scientific research.

Objective To understand the academic atmosphere current situation of graduate students and put forward relevant countermeasures to protect the academic integrity of graduate students.Methods The graduate student'scientific ethics and academic atmosphere construction situation of graduate students in 10 colleges and universities in Chongqing were investigated by questionnaire survey and analyzed.Results Through 1555 questionnaires,it was found that the average investment of time on scientific research in gruduate students was insufficient,the motivation of learning was complicated,and the situation of preventing academic misconduct was serious.Conclusion This study suggests that colleges and universities should establish an academic integrity security system for graduate students,including establishment of academic integrity system and specializing academic integrity supervision institutions,and strengthing academic integrity education.

Background:Matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)is known to play a key role in tumor invasion and metastasis by mediating the degradation of extracellular matrix. It has been revealed that neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin ( NGAL)is capable of protecting MMP-9 from degradation and thereby preserving its enzymatic activity. Aims:To explore the MMP-9 and NGAL levels in peripheral blood of gastric cancer patients and their clinical significance. Methods:Serum levels of MMP-9 and NGAL were determined by ELISA in 76 gastric cancer patients and 50 healthy controls. Correlations of serum MMP-9 and NGAL levels with clinicopathological features of gastric cancer were analyzed,and their diagnostic performance for screening gastric cancer was evaluated by ROC curve. Results:Serum levels of MMP-9 and NGAL in patients with gastric cancer were significantly higher than those in healthy controls(P<0. 01),and either of them was positively correlated with the TNM stage of gastric cancer. Furthermore,MMP-9 was correlated with lymph node metastasis and serosal invasion,while NGAL was correlated with distant metastasis. However,tumor differentiation was not correlated with either MMP-9 or NGAL. By ROC curve,608. 19 ng/mL and 14. 71 ng/mL were identified as the cutoff value of serum MMP-9 and NGAL,respectively,for screening gastric cancer. Sensitivity and specificity of MMP-9 were 64. 5% and 90. 0%,and those of NGAL were 85. 5% and 90. 0%,respectively. When parallel test was taken,the sensitivity would be increased to 94. 7% and specificity being 82. 0%. Conclusions:Serum levels of MMP-9 and NGAL are elevated and associated with tumor progression in patients with gastric cancer. Both of them might be used as potential markers for screening,disease assessment and prognosis prediction of gastric cancer.

Since the implementation of synergy of medical education, the education of clinical medi-cal postgraduate of academic degree inevitably has faced problems such as the decrease quality of the source of students, unclear training objectives and confused training model, and bad job prospects. Can these problems be solved effectively or not, which is directly related to the coordinated development of clinical medicine professional degree and academic degree. This study analyzes the problems faced by the graduate education of clinical medicine after the synergy of medical education and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures:firstly, to attract excellent clinical medical undergraduates and encourage medical students of related subjects or clinical doctors having working experience to apply for academic degree;secondly, the university, supervisors and graduates need to clear the training target and ensure the quality of graduate education; thirdly, employment guidance should be carried out throughout all the study stage of graduates, and the school should guide the graduates to form correct opinion of employment and to plan their career reasonably.

With the development of aging population, the morbidity of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is increasing. Electroacupuncture on several acupoints, especially Baihui (GV20), may improve the cognitive function, brain morphology, and reduceβ-amyloid deposition and tau protein phosphorylation, in AD models.

Curriculum study is a major phase for medical postgraduate education,however,the patterns of the curriculum system are not uniform among domestic medical colleges,not to mention the uniformed patterns for scientific degree and professional degree.Hence,our school has reformed the curriculum system to set up different curriculum systems for both scientific degree and professional degree according to their different educational goals in an aim to improve the quality of education.

Objective To observe the morphology changes in articular cartilage of knee osteoarthritis ( KOA) model rats after intervention with Shudi Jisheng Zhuanggu Decoction (SJZD). Methods SD rats were randomized into 7 groups, namely blank control group, model group, Paracetamol group ( 0.270 g/kg) , Zhuangu Guanjie Pills group ( 1.08 g/kg) , and high-, middle- and low-dosage SJZD groups ( 27.450, 13.725, 6.863 g/kg, respectively). Rats were injected with papain solution into the right knee joint to build models of KOA before administration of drugs. Thickness of right knee joint was measured to evaluate the effect of SJZD on the swelling degree of knee joint. Histological changes of knee cartilage were evaluated by Mankin scoring method after the cartilage sections being stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE). Results Swelling degree of knee joint and Mankin scores were significantly increased in the model group compared to the blank control group ( P<0.01). In comparison with the model group, the swelling degree of knee joint and Mankin scores of SJZD groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and the pathological changes were relieved. Conclusion SJZD can ameliorate the pathological changes of knee articular cartilage in rats with KOA, so as to delay cartilage degeneration and protect the cartilage.
