30 dB and little was 23、14、8、18 ears, respectively. The effective rate was 71.4%. No adverse reaction was seen. Conclusion the technique was non - traumatic, economical, practical and effective.

Objective To study plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) ,IL-6 ,IL-10 ,serum phospholipase A2(PLA2) and organ lesion of sever burn injury patients .Methods 57 sever burn injury patients got treated in our department from March 2010 to March 2011 ,in which 33 of them had been diagnosed with sepsis and 19 of which developed into multiple organ dysfunction syndrome(MODS) ,the levels of IL-6 ,IL-10 ,TNF-α,PLA2 were compared among sepsis group(group N) ,MODS group(group M) and negative group(group N) .The organ disfunction and fatality rate were also analyzed .Results The PLA2 ,TNF-α,IL-6 levels of patients in group S and M were significantly higher than group N ,and showed no apparent decline during the first 14 day ;the change trend of IL-10 had no statistically significant difference among the 3 groups(P<0 .05) .The group S and M showed larger burned area and deeper burned depth ,the organ failure and mortality rate were significantly higher than group N ,And with the most common respiratory function failure .Conclusion The PLA2 ,TNF-α,IL-6 levels in sever burn injury patients might be closely relat-ed to the degree of burn .High plasma level of PLA2 ,TNF-α and IL-6 might be closely associated with occurrence of sepsis and MODS and their outcome .

As hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis have chronic progressive process,the assessment of fibrosis is of great significance for making appropriate treatment.It is divided into two categories,which includes invasive and noninvasive assessing methods.As a noninvasive method,magnetic resonance shows prospect in many aspects.This article is a review of magnetic resonance imaging in the assessment of hepatic fibrosis and cirrhosis.

Objective To establish a nude mouse model of low rectal cancer with lymph node metastasis, to detect the expression of E-calcium (E-cad) in the serum and transplanted tumor tissue of the mice, and to analyze the role of E-cad in lymph node metastasis of rectal cancer.Methods Human colorectal adenocarcinoma cells (SW-480) were inoculated into the rectal submucosa of nude mice to establish a model of low rectal cancer with lymph node metastasis.120 nude mice were randomly divided into three groups (40 mice in each group).Group A (rectal cancer model group) was injected with dimethylhydrazine and implanted with SW480 cells.Group B (dimethylhydrazine control group) was injected with dimethylhydrazine alone.The group C (control group) received no treatment.Serum E-cad was detected by ELISA.The mRNA and protein expression of E-cad in the tumor tissue was detected by RT-PCR and western blot, respectively.Results The serum level of E-cad in group A was 19.48±1.25 mg/L, significantly higher than those in groups B (2.36±0.18 mg/L) and C (2.15±0.12 mg/L) (t =8.28, 9.01, P < 0.05).The serum levels of E-cad were significantly higher in the nude mice with lateral lymph node metastasis than those without lymph node metastasis (t =10.28, P < 0.05).The protein expression of E-cad in the group A was lower than that in the groups B and C (t =9.81, 7.69, P < 0.05).In the group A, the protein expression of E-cad in the nude mice with lateral lymph node metastasis was significantly lower than that without lateral lymph node metastasis (t =9.36, P < 0.05).The mRNA expression of E-cad in the group A was significantly lower than that in the groups B and C (P < 0.05), and the mRNA expression of E-cad in the nude mice with lateral lymph node metastasis was significantly lower than that in the mice without lateral lymph node metastasis (t =7.85, P < 0.05).Conclusions The serum level of E-cad may be closely associated with the lymphatic metastasis of rectal cancer, and the mRNA and protein expressions of E-cad in colorectal cancer tissue were weak or absent, leading to a decrease of adhesion ability between cancer cells, and promote the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells.

How the hosts recognize and clear invading viruses is one of the key issues in molecular immunology. Previous studies uncovered that many early antiviral proteins, such as Type Ⅰ interferons and PKR, are strongly induced upon virus infection. These proteins not only limit virus replication and spread or cause infected cells to undergo apoptosis, but also induce consequently expression of cytokines and chemokines to initiate acquired immunity. However, the immediate-early signaling events among host and virus interaction were largely unknown. In the past few years, there are great breakthroughs in this rapidly evolving field. TLR3 and RIG-I/MDA5 signaling pathways were shown to play a crucial regulatory role in antiviral processes. These pathways are essential for the vertebrate immune system to recognize and clear RNA virus with different strategies, which are integral parts of innate immune response and directly affect later-stage acquired immunity. The recent know-how on TLR3 and RIG-I/MDA5 signal transduction pathways and their roles in antiviral immunity were summarized.

Objective To understand the current status of overall management and treatment of garbage and waste water in rural areas of Fujian,and to provide scientific evidence for governments at all levels to make policies in rural sanitation. Methods From September to December,2006,215 villages in 21 counties in Fujian rural areas were selected,and 10 families were sampled and investigated for garbage collection and waste water treatment from each village. Results In the investigated villages,the production of garbage amounted to 40 837.4 tons per month;and domestic and productive garbage accounted for 32.2% and 67.8% of the total,respectively. Among the domestic garbage,23.7% was randomly discharged or stacked,and only 8.5% went through harmless treatment (incineration,composting under high temperature or direct reuse). However,30.7% productive garbage was randomly discharged or stacked,and 37.1% went through harmless treatment. Every month,948 195 tons of waste water was produced in the investigated villages;57.5% of them were domestic and 42.5% were productive. Only 0.6% of the domestic waste water and 33.0% of the productive waste water were treated. Conclusion The rural public health infrastructure building is far lagged,with low rate of harmless treatment of garbage and waste water. Random littering and piling (discharging) garbage are common phenomena in rural areas. Thus,it is urgent to improve rural sanitation development.

Sixteen patients with congenital heart disease,4 males,12 females,aged 5-52 years,admitted to Department of Cardiology,Tianchang People's Hospital from October 2007 to November 2008 were retrospectively analyzed.All patients were diagnosed by echocardiography as 4 with congenital patent ductus arteriosus(PDA),6 atrial septal defect(ASD) and 6 ventricular septal defect(VSD).The diameter limitation of PDA,ASD and VSD are 5-17 mm,20-32 mm,and 4-10 mm,respectively.All patients received transcatheter-closure therapy by domestic-made occluders,and diameters of PDA,ASD and VSD were monitored using angiography and echocardiography.The treatment effect was evaluated by echocardiography 72 hours after procedure.The closure rate was 100%,without severe complications.No residual shunt was observed 72 hours after procedure.Four patients developed fever,including 2 acute respiratory infection and 2 pulmonary infection with balanced anesthesia;1 patient with ASD and 2 with VSDs developed arrhythmia.Results suggest that transcatheter closure of congenital heart defects(PDA,ASD and VSD) using domestic-made occluders is safe and effective according to strict indications.

Aim To study the subtypes distribution of G-proteins and modulation by carbachol and pilocarpine on gene expression in endothelial cells.Methods The rat aorta endothelial cells were cultivated and incubated with carbachol and pilocarpine at the dose of 10~(-4) mol?L~(-1)for 6 h.Then the total RNA was extracted.The mRNA levels of G-protein ? subunits was measured by RT-PCR.Results Gq/11,Gs and Gi mRNA was detected in rat aorta endothelial cells,while G12/13 mRNA was not detected.Carbachol and pilocarpine treatment induced no changes in Gs,Gi and G11 mRNA.Gq mRNA was 72.7% up-regulated by carbachol and unchanged by pilocarpine.Conclusion In all G-protein ? subunits,only Gq mRNA was changed after activation of non-neuronal muscarinic receptor by carbachol.We can conclude that Gq-protein may play an important role in signal transduction of nonneuronal muscarinic receptor.
