International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2015;(3):234-236
Resveratrol has several neuroprotective effects in cerebral ischemia, including reductions of oxidative stress, inflammatory responses and apoptosis. Recent studies have shown that these neuroprotective effects of resveratrol may be involved in activation of silent information regulator 1.
2.Glibenclamide for the prevention of cerebral edema and hemorrhagic transformation in ischemic stroke
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2015;(5):383-387
Cerebral edema and hemorrhagic transformation(HT) are the common complications of ischemic stroke. Ischemic cerebral edema is the primary cause of death in patients w ith large infarction. The sulfonylurea receptor 1 (Sur1) transient receptor potential M4 (Trpm4) channel plays an important role in focal cerebral ischemia. Both animal experiment and clinical studies have show n that the Sur1 selective inhibitor glibenclamide provides neuroprotection for ischemic stroke, including infarct volume reduction and improvement of neurological function, especial y in attenuating cerebral edema and reducing the incidence of HT. This article review s the advances in research on glibenclamide for the prevention of cerebral edema and HT in patients w ith ischemic stroke.

Objective To analyse the prognostic value of serumal copeptin in patients with acute exacerbation of COPD compli-cated withrespiratory failure. Methods The serumal copeptin were detected in 60 hospitalized AECOPD patients before and after the treatment and in 30 healthy controls. Results Comparing with control groups, the serumal levels was significantly elevated in the patient with AECOPD before thetreatment and declinied two months later(P <0.05).The level of serum copeptin wereincreasing with the increase in the severity of the disease in acertain extent; The serumalcopeptin were positively correlated with lung function and CAT (r=0.058 and 0.821,P =0.00)and were negativelycorrelated with 6MWD(r=-0.652,P =0.00).Conclusion Serum copeptin could as-sess the incidence of acute exacerbations ofchronic obstructive pulmonary disease and its therapeutic effect;Serum copeptin can reflect the se-verity of AECOPD patients in a certain extent, and has certain clinical value to evaluate the quality of life in patients.

Chinese Mental Health Journal 2002;0(11):-
Objective: To investigate the rate of depression among Beijing residents aged 55 or above. Methods: 2660 Beijing residents aged 55 or above in a cohort study of year 2000 were followed and screened with CES-D. Demographic data, information of health status and activity of daily living were also collected. Results: The rate of depression in this cohort was 13.5% (360/2660), the rate of men was 9.6%, that of women was 17.4%, women had significantly higher rate than men. The rate of depression of residents in rural area was much higher than that of urban area (20.9% vs. 7.4%), the illiterate resident had higher rate of depression than those with at least primary education (20% vs. 8.7%). Residents above 75 or below that had no difference in rate of depression. Depression had close relation with poor health status and disability in activity of daily living. Conclusion:The rate of depression is higher in women and in residents of rural area or in those illiterate. Depression is closely related to poor health status and disability in daily living.

Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(01):-
Objective To evaluate the relationship between th e expression of E-cadherin (E-CD) and differentiation, macroscopic features, l ymph node metastasis, and Dukes stages of colorectal carcinoma (CC). Me thods Frozen storage samples of 31 cases of CC and adjacent normal c olon mucous membrane epithelium were examined for E-CD expression by S-P immun ohistochemistry. Results High expression of E-CD was detec ted in normal colorectal mucous membrane epithelium (100%) while E-CD expressio n was lower (77.4%) in the tumor samples. E-CD expression was closely associate d with the differentiations, macroscopic features and lymph node metastasis, resp ectively ( P 0.05). Conclusion The examination of E -CD expression can be used as a valuable index to evaluate the biological behav ior and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;35(9):769-774
Epidemic influenza (flu) is a disease threatening the life of people for a long history.A precise forecast for the flu outbreak can warn and help health care providers to take measures to reduce the influences and harms in advance. At present, with the development of information technology, there have accumulated tremendous data of flu trends and climate information. With a history of 90 years researches about the forecast of flu trends, researchers have put forward different types of forecasting methods, and each of them has merits and demerits.Among these methods, those ones considering the key climate factors have higher precisions.Considering various methods at present, the prediction accuracy can be improved mainly from two aspects:on one hand, the forecast accuracy can be improved by effectively integrate the advantages of different models ; On the other hand, the prediction must take into account of the specific climate of an area, pathogens and the mode of transmission characteristics in order to determine the most relevant climate factors or other highly related factors with which to design a more reasonable and accurate prediction method.

China Oncology 2001;0(03):-
Background and purpose:Esophageal carcinoma is a common malignant tumor.Patients with esophageal carcinoma have a low survival rate.CD44 gene and CYP2E1 gene are related to invasion and metastasis of esophageal cancer, therefore we studied CD44 and CYP2E1 gene polymorphism in regard to its relationship with esophageal cancer. Methods :We analyzed CD44 and CYP2E1 genetic polymorphism in 45 cases with esophageal cancer and adjacent tissues by PCR technology. Results :CD44 protein was significantly over-expressed in tumor tissues than that in adjacent tissue(P

Chinese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 1995;0(05):-
Objective The feasibility of constructing endothelialized vascular graft by using cryopreserved HUVCs was studies. Methods Forty-two human umbilical cords were used in this study. HUVECs were isolated by means of filling umbilical veins with digestive enzyme solution. HUVECs were then cultured and observed. Endothelial cells were identified by von Willebrand factor immunofluorescence staining and scanning electron microscope examination. Endothelial cells were suspended in cryopreserving solution which contains 10% DMSO and 10% fetal bovine serum in M199 and cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen. Post-thawed cells and non-frozen cells proliferation was evaluated by measuring the metabolic activity of tetrazolium compound. The endothelial cell growth characteristics were determined by daily observation using phase contrast microscope. Post-thawed endothelial cells viability was determined by trypan blue staining test. Flow cytometry were applied to determine the apoptosis rate of post-thawed cells. Cryopreserved endothelial cells morphological examinations such as hematoxylin and eosins staining and scanning electron microscope examination were carried out in this study. After cell culture and amplification, cryopreserved HUVCs were seeded on the inner surface of Gore-Tex graft to construct tissue engineered vascular graft. Results Extreme high-purified endothelial cells could be isolated by infusing digestive solutions to the lumen of human umbilical veins. Compared with non-frozen endothelial cells, Post-thawed endothelial cells showed 95% of vitality. Post-thawed HUVEC growth curve was similar to non-frozen ones'. Post-thawed HUVEC apoptosis rate (5.85? 0.56) % was higher than non-frozen ones (5.34?0.49)%; however, the difference was not statistically different. Endothelialization of vascular graft was carried out successfully. Cryopreserved cells on Gore-Tex surface showed a good growth trend. Conclusion Cryopreserved HUVCs may be taken as a cell choice for tissue engineering. Enough high pure endothelial cells could be isolated by digestive solutions infusion of human umbilical veins. Post-thawed endothelial cells are proved to have high vitality and growth potential on Gore-Tex surface in vitro.
