Objective To compare the outcomes of 23G and 25G plus (25G+) vitrectomy in treatment of proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR).Methods This is a prospective randomized study.Fifty-seven PDR patients (75 eyes) with symptoms requiring vitrectomy were randomly divided into 23G vitrectomy group (30 patients,39 eyes) and 25G+ vitrectomy group (27 patients,36 eyes).Visual acuity, intraocular pressures,ophthalmoscopy,B-scan ultrasound was examined before surgery. The follow-up period was 10.0 (23G group) and 8.5 months (25G+ group) respectively.Intraoperative complications, operation time, postoperative visual acuity, intraocular pressure, postoperative complications and postoperative ocular conditions were analyzed. Results The mean surgical times were (53.35± 7.42)minutes and (49.16±5.17) minutes in 23G and 25G+ group respectively, and the difference was significant (t=4.37,P<0.05).Iatrogenic injuries occurred in 11 eyes (28.21%) and 5 (13.89%) eyes in 23G and 25G + group respectively, and the difference was significant (x2 =4.93,P<0.05).The postoperative visual acuity of 23G and 25G+ group were improved compared to before surgery (x2=16.81,18.29; P<0.05).At last follow-up,there was 25 eyes and 24 eyes with visual acuity ≥ 0.05 in 23G and 25G+ groups respectively, and the difference was not significant (x2 =0.13,P>0.05).Hypotony was detected in 7 and 3 eyes at the third postoperative day in 23G and 25G+ group respectively, and the difference was significant (x2 =5.67,P<0.05).Conclusion 25G+ vitrectomy is a safe and effective treatment for PDR with shorter surgery time and fewer surgical complications.
2.EAST/SeSAME syndrome and functional expression of inward rectifier potassium channel Kir4.1 in the inner ear.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(14):1318-1322
Inwardly rectifying potassium (Kir) channels exhibit an asymmetrical conductance at hyperpolarization (high conductance) compared to depolarization (low conductance). The KCNJ10 gene which encodes an inwardly rectifying K+ channel Kir4.1 subunit plays an essential role in the inner ear and hearing. Mutations or deficiency of KCNJ10 can cause hearing loss with epilepsy, ataxia, sensorineural deafness, and renal tubulopathy (EAST) or SeSAME (seizures, sensorineural deafness, ataxia, mental retardation, and electrolyte imbalance) syndromes. In this review, we mainly focus on the expression and function of Kir4.1 channels in the inner ear and mutation-induced EAST/SeSAME syndromes to provide insight for understanding the pathogenesis of deafness induced by KCNJ10 deficiency.

Objective To manufacture adriamycin-porous tricalcium phosphate (A-PTCP) ceramic drug delivery system (DDS)as a possible method for bone defect treatment after bone tumor operation. Methods A-PTCP DDS was made from putting adriamycin into PTCP. Thirty rabbits were divided randomly into group A(24 rabbits) and group B(6 rabbits). A-PTCP was implanted in the greater trochanter of the right femur in group A. Adriamycin were injected into veins in group B. Muscle around A-PTCP and plasma were taken out at different period. Adriamycin concentrations in muscle and plasma were measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Results A-PTCP could gradually release adriamycin over 10 weeks. Adriamycin concentrations in the muscle were higher than that in plasma. Conclusion A-PTCP may be a new method for repairing bone defects after bone tumor operation.

medial distal wall. The root canal length of central and lateral incisors were (12.96?6.46) mm and (11.47?6.32) mm respectively. The double root canal was found in 35.9 % of central incisors and in 27.5% of lateral incisors. Most mandibular incisors with long concavity had single root canal. Conclusion: The root canal wall of mandibular incisors was thinner in medial and distal wall than in lingual and labial wall. Mandibular incisors have higher rate in double root canal and the long concavity is not significantly related with number of root canal.

Objective This study is to study the age related changes of the expression of caspase-3 and the apoptosis states of neurons in primary auditory cortex of 15 young C57BL/6J mice(2 months, 15~20 g) and 15 old C57BL/6J mice(10 months, 50~60 g) and to determine probable physical effects underlying these changes. This paper also discusses the relationship of caspase-3 and apotosis states in primary auditory cortex, the possible role of caspase-3 in primary auditory cortex and the pathogenesis of presbycusis. Methods The immunohistochemical methods were applied to explore the differences of the expression of caspase-3 and the apoptosis states determined by TUNEI. method in the primary auditory cortex between young and old C57BL/6J mice. Results The expression of caspase-3 and apoptosis in Al of old C57BL/6J mice was significantly higher than that in the counterpart of young C57BL/6J mice. Conclusion The results presented a direct morphological evidence for the strengthening of caspase-3 in the primary auditory cortex in old C57BL/6J mice. This method has an important role in the formation and development of presbycusis. The expression of caspase-3 participated in the regulatory procedure of apoptosis and may be a possible factor of the etiologies of presbycusis.

Objective To adopt a three-dimensional limited element analytic method to research into the cause and mechanism of the complications taking place after resection of head radius.Method To adopt a three-dimensional limited element analytic method to research into the stress transmission action of the head radi-us and the distribution alteration of the stress transmission after resection of head radius impacting on the stability of elbow and wrist.Result In normal cases, the stress value transmitted via head of radius takes 58% of the stress placed,36.85% via humeroulnar joint. The head of radius places a leading role in the stress transmission of the elbow joint. After rasection of the head of radius, the lateral of humeroulnar joint bears about 43% of the stress placed while the medial part bears about 21.6% of the stress. To compare with that before the resection of the head of radius the stress on the lateral is obviously increased more than the medial part. Conclusions The head of radius places a leading role in the stress transm ission of the el-bow joint. The resection of the head radius breaks the normal distribution of the stress on the elbow joint and produces great effect on the stability of the elbow joint and wrist joint. Therefore,in clinics we should pay great attention to the indication of rasection of the head of radius.
