ObjectiveTo observe the effect of moxibustion with medicine cake on mRNA expression of matrix metalloproteinases-2,9 (MMP-2，MMP-9)in artherosclerosis (AS) plaques of rabbits, and to explore the effect of moxibustion with medicine cake to the stability of artherosclerosis plaques of rabbits.MethodsAS rabbit models were established by feeding high-fat diet. 75 New Zealand big-eared rabbits were divided into 5 groups, blank group (blank control group), model group (AS model group), direct moxibustion group (AS model + moxa cone direct moxibustion), moxibustion on medicine cake group (AS model + moxibustion on medicine cake), western medicine group (AS model + atorvastatin), 15 rabbits in each group. Then the mRNA expression of MMP-2, MMP-9 was detected in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits with in situ hybridization.ResultsThe expressions of MMP-2, MMP-9 in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits were all be controlled in direct moxibustion group, moxibustion on medicine cake group, western medicine group (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in the moxibustion on medicine cake group and western medicine group were obviously lower than those of the direct moxibustion group.ConclusionThe expression of MMP-2, MMP-9 in the atherosclerotic plaques of rabbits can all be controlled in direct moxibustion group, moxibustion on medicine cake group, and western medicine group; as well as the plaques can all be made stable. The efficacy in the moxibustion on medicine cake group and western medicine group is superior to that of the direct moxibustion group.

AIM: To assess the relative agreement of GAT and NCT in IOP measurement by comparing the differences between Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) and non-contact tonometer (NCT) in intraocular pressure (IOP) detection.METHODS: IOP of 529 eyes of 265 volunteers were measured with both NCT and GAT, respectively.RESULTS: The measurement results of NCT were lower than that of GAT, there was significant difference between the IOP measured with NCT and GAT (19.13 vs23.43, t=22.644, P＜0.05). With the increasing of IOP values, the difference magnitude was greater, especially in IOP group that was more than 30mmHg, but the correlation coefficient became lower.CONCLUSION: The measurement results with NCT are lower than that of GAT. When the IOP with the NCT is in borderline value, it need be corrected with GAT, in order to discover the pathologically elevated IOP and avoid the misdiagnosis and mistreatment of glaucoma.

Objective To study the current situation of human brucellosis infection in a population at high risk in Qian'an,and to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control of the disease.Methods Towns with centralized residents working in sheep breeding,transporting,slaughtering and processing in Jianchangying,Muchangkou and Xiaguanying of Qian'an were selected.In each selected town,2-3 villages with relatively centralized households working in sheep farming,transportation and slaughtering were chosen.All of the people who contacted the sheep or their excrement were chosen as monitoring objects,and serological antibody was tested with rose Bengal plate test(RBPT) and serum agglutination test(SAT).Regional,gender,age and occupational distribution of brucellosis were analyzed.Results A total of 367 blood samples were tested,46 of them were positive in both RBPT and SAT with a ratio of 12.53％ (46/367).Male positive rate [13.51％ (30/222)] was slightly higher than that of females [11.03％(16/145)].The rate in Jianchangying was higher than that of other two towns with a ratio of 13.38％(40/299).The veterinary population had the highest ratio of 33.33％(1/3).Conclusions It is necessary to carry out the surveillance on brucellosis and to further strengthen communication with the animal husbandry department,and strengthen protection on key population.At the same time,in order to control the spread of the disease,extensive health education and intervention measures should be carried out.

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at Zusanli (ST 36),Guanyuan (CV 4) and Ashi points on adjuvant arthritis rats,and explore the mechanism of EA treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods:Sixty male rats were randomly divided into a normal group,a model group,a methotrexate group and an EA group,with 15 rats in each group.Rats in the normal group and the model group were routinely raised and did not receive treatment;rats in the methotrexate group received methotrexate at a dose of 0.35 mg/(kg·bw),twice a week for 3 weeks;rats in the EA group received acupuncture at Zusanli (ST 36),Guanyuan (CV 4) and Ashi points,and the bilateral Zusanli (ST 36) and Ashi points were connected to EA apparatus,once a day for 3 weeks.The general status,the swelling degree of the toe,the arthritis index (AI) score,the pathological morphology of the ankle joint,and the mRNA expressions of cellular inhibitor of apoptosis protein (c-IAP) 1 and c-IAP2 in joint synovial tissue cells of the rats in each group were observed.Results:The swelling degree of the toe,AI score and mRNA expressions of c-IAP1 and c-IAP2 in the model group were significantly higher than those in the normal group (all P＜0.05).Compared with the model group,the swelling degree of the toe,AI score and mRNA expressions of c-IAP1 and c-IAP2 in the methotrexate group and the EA group improved (P＜0.01 or P＜0.05);the expressions of c-IAP1 mRNA and c-IAP2 mRNA in rat synovial tissues in the EA group were significantly higher than those in the methotrexate group (P＜0.01).Conclusion:EA alleviates joint swelling in rats with adjuvant arthritis.The mechanism may be related to suppressing mRNA expressions of c-IAP1 and c-IAP2,thus to induce apoptosis of synoviocytes.

Objective To study the effects of nitric oxide synthase(NOS) and nitric oxide(NO) in post-asphyxial renal injury in neonatal rats.Methods Forty-eight Wistar neonatal rats were randomly divided into 4 groups:controls,2 h,24 h and 48 h post-asphyxia groups (12 in each group).The rats were decapitated in different times(2 h,24 h and 48 h) after asphyxia for 30 minutes.The renals were dissected to determined the concentrations of NO and NOS.And the scores of renal tubules were measured under light microscope.Results Compared with control group,the levels of NO and NOS significantly increased at 2 h and 24 h after asphyxia.The scores of renal tubules were significant difference at 24 h and 48 h after asphyxia compared to controls.Conclusion These findings suggest NOS and NO may play an important role in the development of post-asphyxia renal injury.

Objective To investigate the CT and MRI findings of inflammation and lymphadenosis of lacrimal gland and to assess their diagnostic value.Design Retrospective case series study.Participants 46 patients with inflammation or lymphadenosis of lacrimal gland.Methods CT and MRI findings were analyzed retrospectively in 46 patients with inflammation or lymphadenosis of lacrimal gland,which were confirmed by pathology or clinical follow-ups.Main Outcome Measures Configuration,signal intense(or density)and extent of lesions.Results Of the 46 patients,32 patients with inflammatory pseudotumors demonstrated enlargement of the lacrimal gland,showing homogenous moderate density on CT,isointense or hypointense signal on T_1WI and T_2WI of MRI,and marked contrast enhancement.Multiple cystic components could be seen in one case.In 4 patients with Mikulicz disease,there were bilateral diffuse enlargment of the entire glands.CT scans showed homogenous moderate density.MRI showed hypointense signal on T_1WI and T_2WI,and marked contrast enhancement.Five patients with reactive lymphoid hyperplasia demonstrated enlargement of the lacrimal gland,homogenous moderate density on CT,hypointense or isointense signal on T_1WI and T_2WI(one case was hyperintense signal on T_2WI),and marked contrast enhancement.One patient with atypical lymphoid hyperplasia demonstrated bilateral diffuse enlargment of the entire glands,and homogenous moderate density on CT.4 patients had malignant lymphomas(B-cell lymphoma 3,histocytic sarco- ma 1,all 4 patients had bilateral disease),Those patients with malignant lymphomas showed bilateral diffuse enlargment of the entire glands.Conclusions The CT and MRI findings were similar in inflammation and lymphadenosis of lacrimal gland.CT and MRI may contribute to differentiate inflammation and lymphadenosis with epithelial tumors and may demonstrate the extent of the lesion.(Oph- thalmol CHN,2007,16:308-311)

ObjectiveTo observe the hong-huang antioxidant on oxidative stress in patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy, including their related blood indexes, blood rheology changes, and the effects on TCM clinical symptoms and symptoms of stress.MethodsA total of 60 cases of breast cancer patients during chemotherapy from Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM was randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 30 cases in each group. On the basis of conventional therapy, patients in treatment group were given hong-huang antioxidant (100 mL per bag) from the 1st day to the 14th day of chemotherapy, 2 bags for each day (morning and evening). Patients in control group were given foundation treatment the same as the treatment group. Patients in the two groups had their serum NO, the content of SOD, and blood rheology tested on the day before chemotherapy, and the 4th, 7th, 14th days during chemotherapy. Meanwhile, their symptom score and the integral of stress reaction and TCM symptoms were also assessed. ResultsOn the 4th day, serum NO of treatment group decreased, while SOD content increased,without statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05). Serum NO on the 7th, 14th days was significantly lower than that in the control group, but the content of SOD was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance between the two groups (P<0.05). Hemorheology on the 4th day significantly decreased after treatment (P<0.05), and was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05); Clinical symptoms and stress symptoms integral in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group on the 4th, 7th, 14th days of chemotherapy, with statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion Hong-huang antioxidant can significantly improve the oxidative stress status, serological indexes, related blood rheology indexes, and clinical symptoms in patients with breast cancer.

Aiming at the characteristics of telemedicine service,we summarized our telemedical consultation work during 2006-2008.We believed that telemedical consultation from big hospitals are very important in maintaining physical and moral health conditions and treating severe sickness of grassroots officers and soldiers,it can also play active roles in the construction of basic army unit hospitals.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of axillary ultrasound (AUS)in the identification of axillary nodal metastasis (ALNM).Methods Two hundred and eighty-two consecutive patients with stage Tis-T2 breast cancer were prospectively enrolled between December 2013 and September 2015.All the patients underwent AUS performed by two specified senior ultrasound doctors.Sonographic features of their axillary lymph nodes (longitudinal and transverse diameters,cortical and hilar thickness,blood flow form)were collected.These patients were divided into metastatic, suspicious and non-metastatic groups based on the ultrasound features by ultrasound doctors.The diagnostic accuracy of AUS was compared with results of pathology.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the relationship between sonographic features and ALNM.The area under the ROC curve was used to assess the accuracy of the multivariate Logistic regression model.Results The sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive value and accuracy of AUS were respectively 85.6%,87.1%,86.4%,86.3%,and 86.3% in the metastatic and non-metastatic groups.The Kappa value was 0.727(P <0.001).The ALNM burden in the non-metastatic group was significantly lower than in the metastatic group (1.2 vs 6.9,P <0.001).The false-negative results were found only in 16 cases,fourteen of whom had only 1,and two had 2 and 3 ALNM,respectively.Univariate Logistic regression analysis showed that maximum cortical thickness was the most significant predictive factor of ALNM(the area under the ROC curve was 0.872).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis suggested that cortical thickness and the ratio of hilar thickness to cortical thickness were predictive factors of ALNM(P <0.05).The area under the ROC curve of the multivariate Logistic regression model was 0.879 and its sensitivity and specificity were 77.0% and 85.1%,respectively.Conclusion AUS is a valuable tool for detecting ALNM.Patients with false-negative results of AUS have a lower axillary metastatic burden.Maximum cortical thickness is the most significant predictive factor of ALNM.AUS may be a potential alternative method for sentinel lymph node biopsy as axillary lymph node staging in early-stage breast cancer patients.
