Korean Journal of Pathology 1989;23(3):311-321
The authors reviewed surgical materials from 20 patients with carcinoma of the extrahepatic biliary system, and a correlation between macroscopic appearance of the tumors with various clinical features and histopathologic findings was made. Microscopically, the tumors were classified into four types; Four (21%) patients had polypoid tumors, six (32%) had nodular growths, five (26%) were scirrhous constricting in type, and four (21%) had diffusely infiltrating type. Histologically all the differentiation in two cases. The degree of differentiation of the tumors was classified into 3 types: 11 (55%) patients were well differentiated, 3(15%) were moderately well and 6(30%) were poorly differentiated. All polypoid tumors were well differentiated and had low stage. No correlation in the degree of differentiation of the tumor with the stage was present. No correlation in clinical symptoms, duration of symptoms, laboratory findings with morphologic findings of the tumors was noted.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1999;42(2):307-320
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this survey is to introduce the recent adolescent sexuality, such as the level of sexual knowledge of adolescent, their actual state for the attitudes and behaviors toward sex, and in Korea in comparison with the past and to seek the answers to the improvement of the teproductive health statos of the adolescents. METHOD: The total number of 11,433 girls was drawn fiom middle and high schools girls in Seoul, Pusan, Incheon, Kwangju, Taegu, Taejeon and Ansan. Among them, the number of 82 girls was drawn fiom factory workers in Ansan. For the data collection, the survey was conducted during the period fiom Feb 15, 1994 to May 23, 1995 by using prepared questionaire. RESULT: Of those who respond to this study, 37.6% had sexual problems, which was that of acquaintance of the opposite sex(44.7%), menstruation(33.1%), and sexual maturity(13.1%). Among them, only 5.5% had a feeling of satisfaction about sex education. In regard to the attitude toward the friendly relationsbip with the oppasite sex, the approval rate respondents was 80.4%. Many respondents felt chastity and a virtue, but only 60.1% answered that pemarital chastity should be kept. For the each age group, age at sexual intercourse is revealed that among the respondents about 31.5% are experienced sexual intercourse for under 14 yearss old group, 25.3% for 15 years old, 26.3% for 16 years old, 12.6% for 17 years old, 3.3% for 18 years old, 1.0% for 19 years old. The major information source of knowledge source was school(38.4%), mass-media such as TV/radio(22.6%), book and magazine(19.9%), friends(16.2%), and parents (1.5%). CONCLUSION: In order to cope with the problems of adolescent sexuality, a drastic and strong policy measures should be taken by the government. At the same time, the public should be aware of the urgency of adolescent sexual problems. The most effective countermeasures appear to be education. Sexual education is necessary for the youth that they should bave an adequate sexual knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in their adolescent period.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1979;17(1):73-79
This study was performed in order to explore the immunologic relationship between the skin lesions induced by the human serum and the lymphatic organs. For these purposes, the authors induced the dermatitis in the rabbits by the injections of pooled human serum with Freunds complete adjuvant into the skin, and administered prednisolone and azathioprine as immunosuppressive drugs to the rabbits. Immunologic asmy was performed by the measurement of the plasma ceIls and immunogobulin-bearing B lymphocytes in lymph node and spleen. The results were as follows: 1. By the injections of human serum pyroninophilic cells and immunoglobulining B lymphocytes in lymph node and spleen were increased. 2. By the administrations of prednisolone and azathioprine, pyroninophilic cells and immunoglobulin-bearing B lymphocytes in lymph node and spleen were all decre RSCd.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1990;24(3):267-274
Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in human consist of dysplasia of various developmental stages and squamous cell carcinoma in situ of various types. These lesions can be diagnosed cytologically on cervico-vaginal smears, although the diagnostic reproducibility is limited. To obtain the objects morphologic distinction between normal squamous epithelial cell in different maturation, different stages of dysplastic cells and varieties of in situ carcinoma cells, Kontron IBAS-1 imaging analyzer was applied for the measurement of nuclear and cytoplasmic areas of each categorised cells. The followings are results obtained: 1) Nuclear and cytoplasmic areas of superfical (36.9 micrometer2, 2319.9 micrometer2) intermedicate (45.7 micrometer2, 2989.7 micrometer2) and parabasal cells (50.8 micrometer2, 432.7 micrometer2) of normal squamous epithelium origin are mostly distinctive between cell types. However, cytoplasmic areas of both superficial and intermediate cells and nuclear areas of both intermediate and parabasal cells are not significantly different. 2) Normal squamous cells and various dysplastic cells show obvious difference in their nuclear and cytoplasmic areas, while difference between cytoplasmic areas of both parabasal (432.7 micrometer2) and severe dysplastic cells (409.7 micrometer2) are not statistically significant. 3) No statistical difference is observed in between nuclear areas of both moderate dysplastic (112.3 micrometer2) and severe dysplastic cell (117.6 micrometer2). 4) Varieties of carcinoma in situ cells and severe dysplastic cells are in difference in their nuclear and cytoplastic areas, whereas nuclear areas from both in situ carcinoma cells (95.3 micrometer2) of large cell type and severe dysplasia (117.6 micrometer2) are not distinctive. The results lead the author to consider that the morphometric analysis for various parameters of cell constituents are of value in making objective distinction between cells from cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in human.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1983;19(4):882-890
The accurate diagnosis of spine trauma is essential to its proper management, since therapeutic decisionsdepend on radiography and clinical data. Failure to recognize significant injury to the spine can lead to severeneurological deficit in the previously neulogically intact patient. The developmemt of CT has open a new demensionin evaluation of spinal column. In our experience CT not only offer the accurate and thorough evaluation of spinalinjury, but does so in a rapid and more efficient manner when compared with conventional radiolgraphy. CT hasbecome the diagnostic procedure of choice when screening plain film and clinical examination indecate that acomprehensive radiographic evaluation is necessary. Eighteen patients with thoracic and lumber spinal fracturewere studied with CT. Four had multiple level injuries. The resuls are summerized as follow; 1. Among the 18patients, 4 had multiple level injuries and other 14 patients had single spinal injury. 2. 8 patients (11 spines)had simple compression fracture and 12 patients (13 spines) had burst fracture of vertebral body. 3. 15 spinesamong the 24 involved spines are located at T12 and L1 level. 4. Spineal canal narrowing and bony fragment in thecanal are defiend only 7 of 13 spines (53.8%) of burst fracture in conventional radiography. However CT showed inall spines of burst fracture. 5. Spinal posterior element involvement is suggested only one of 12 spines of burstfracture, but correctly interpretated by CT in 7 spines(11 anatomical position).

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1983;19(4):767-775
Conventional radiology of the pancreas are too often unsatisfactory. It is well known that the whole body CTis very useful in identifying retroperitoneal pathology. The authors intended to present normal pancreaticmorphology and data for preparation of basis for interpretation o abnormalities. We results were as follows; 1.There were 36 male and 24 female patients, and their ages ranged fro 7 to 78 years. 2. 1) The organs adjacentpancreas were stomach, inferior vena cava, duodenum, caudate lobe of the liver left kidney, left adrenal gland, superior mesenteric vessels, spleen. 2) In 19 patients, pancreatic tail at the level of left kidney in thetransverse plane, it was either ventral in 13(68%), ventromedial in 2(19%), ventrolateral in 4(21%) to leftkidney, in the other ventral in 13(68%), ventromedial in 2(19%), ventrolateral in 4(21%) ot left kidney, in theother 41 patients, it was cranial to the upper pole of left kidney, ventral in 15(61%), ventromedial in 1(2%),ventrolateral in 15(37%). 3) Pancreatic tail was cranial to the pancreatic body, 3cm cranial in 2(4%), 2-3cm in5(8%), 1-2cm in 6(10%), less than 1cm in 11(18%). In the other, caudal in 3(5%). 3. Pancreatic shape was uniformtapering form in 37(62%), lobulated form in 23(38%). 4. Pancreatic orientation was horizontal in 13(22%), vertical56(76%), S-shaped in 1(2%). 5. Pancreatic margin was smooth in 22(37%), lobulated in 38(63%). 6. In most patients, pancrease was uniform in density. 7. Pancreatic size was 0.5+-0.1 in measurement ratio of the head in 48(80%),0.4+-0.1 of the body in 49(88%), 0.5+-0.1 of the tail in 47(78%).
