We reviewed the records of thirty-four patients who had been managed with the Ilizarov technique for the comminuted intra- and extra-articular fractures and nonunion of the long bones with or with-out bone defect. The goal of this study is to analysis the clinical complications of the Ilizarov technique, and to find out the methods solving them. 1. This study comprises 34 patients who were treated by Ilizarov technique at the Chonbuk National University Hospital from March, 1992 to June, 1993. 2. Among 34 cases, 22 were comminuted intra- and extra-articular fractures, and 12 were nonunion of the long bones. 3. The complications were divided intd problem, obstacle and complication; problem in 16 cases, obstacle in 11 cases and complication in 6 cases. 4. We conclude that the Ilizarov technique is a useful method in management of the severe commi- nuted fractures and the nonunion of the long bones, but we have to consider the complication sincerely and endeavor to reduce them.

Annals of Dermatology 1998;10(3):203-207
A case of a 21-year old female with Maffucci's syndrome is presented where the patient developed multiple cutaneous spindle-cell hemangioendotheliomas. She had multiple pea to walnut sized, non-tender, normal skin colored or slight bluish nodules and bony mass-like lesions on the left upper extremity and hand. A histological examination of the lesions showed that they were composed of irregularly dilated, thin walled cavernous blood spaces containing phleboliths and collapsed vascular spaces separated by spindled fibroblastic cells. Radiologically, the bony lesions showed radiolucent densities with calcified spots within the second proximal phalanx and metacarpal bone of the left hand, which were consistent with enchondromas.

A case of lacunar skull, female newborn infant, associated with skin defect on the lumbosacral region, spina bifida, meingomyelocele and paraplegia is reported. Hydrocephalus developed eventually. Diagnosis was made by X-ray of skull. The roentgenographic apperance shows typhical a soap bubble texture or irregular patches of rarefaction. A brief review of the related literature is given.

Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1982;25(6):633-637
Acute hydrops of the gallbladder is described in one patient who had mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome. During the course of her illness, acute addominal pain, vomiting and right upper guadrant tenderness were developed. Diagnosis was readily made with ultrasonography, and the patient was followed with this te-chnique. We managed her conventionally without surgical intervention. The galbladder returned to normal size within about 3 weeks. Related literatures are briefly reviewed.
