Clinical studies on thirteen patients with Behcet's syndrome who had visited during the period from Jan. 1970 to Sep. 1973, to the Department of Dermatology & Ophthahnology, Busan National University Hospital, were made and the following results obtained. 1) The ratio of male vs. female was l. 0: l. 6 with no definite sexual differences. The ages ranged from 17 to 56 years with the peak incidence in third decade of life. 2) The "complete" form consisting of oculo- oro-genital and cutaneous lesions appeared in . 4 patients (30. 8%) and the "incomplet" in 9 patients (69. 2%). 3) Aphthous stomatitis was most predominant, being observed in 12 out of all 13 cases (92.3%), the next was cutaneous manifestations such as erythema nodosum, pyodermas, acneiform & pustular lesions and erythema multiforme in 10 cases (76. 1%) and genital ulcers in 9 cascs (69.2%). Ocular lesions and articular involvements came fourth, each being found in 8 cases (61. 5%). 4) The commonest feature of ocular involvement was relapsing iridocyclitis, being observed in 57. 7% and the disease led to a bilateral loss of vision in 38. 4% 5) Single or combined therapy including corticosteroids and antimicrobials gave transient conservative effects and was of no value to prevent recurrent attacks.

This was a statistical observation of paraplegia patients who underwent operation at National Veterans Hospital from January 1975 to Mary 1981. The data was analyzed according to anesthetic technique, anesthetic agents, site of injury and etiology of injury. The results were as follows: 1) Only 24 cases or 21 % of the total needed anesthesia during operation. 2) The most common anesthetic technique was inhalation with circle absorption method.(32 cases, 29%) 3) Halothane was used as the main anesthetic.( 17 cases, 53%) 3) The most common etiology of injury was vertebral fracture( 35 cases, 59%) 5) The most common site of injury was lower thoracic.(T2-T1) (33 cases, 56%) 6) The total number of surgical operations performed numbered 59 out of 112 cases as classified in Table 1.

7.Ventriculotransverse Sinus Shunt for Hydrocephalus.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1993;22(4):520-528
The new operative technique of ventriculotransverse sinus shunt for hydrocephalus is introduced in this paper. This method has been applied to 6 hydrocephalic patients with Pudenz-Heyer low pressure valve in our department of Kyungpook National University Hospital from June 1990 to to May 1992. 4 cases including 2 high pressure hydrocephalus of all the patients improved in neurologic deficit within 2 weeks postoperatively. 2 Cases of normal pressure hydrocephalus installed the same shunt showed no improvement without any shunt valve dysfunction, so the shunts were revised to ventriculoperitoneal shunts. The choice of transverse sinus rather than superior sagittal sinus for CSF recipient of shunt seems more reasonable anatomically and physiologically. And this procedure could first apply to the poor risk patients with local anesthesia in such cases with old age, deteriorated, and to the patients requiring revision of the other shunting. To confirm the effect and perspect for continuous using this new technique, more patients applying this method and long term follow-ups of them should be needed.
