A statistical observation ryas made on Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries of Korean Army Personnel in Vietnam War during the period of November, 1965 to November, 1966. and the following results were obtained. 1. The Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries were 15 cases(5.3 per cent) among 825 war causalities. 2. As for the causes of injuries, 25 cases (55.5 per cent) were caused by gunshot, 9(20.O per cent) by booby trap, 5(11. O per cent) by mortar, 3(6.6 per cent) each by crush and grenade. 3. Concerning the frequency of injuries in each organ, 12 cases (6. 6 per cent) each were observed in urethra, in scrotum and testis, 10 (22.2 per cent) in kidney, 8 (17.7 per cent) in bladder, and 3 {6. 6 per cent) in penis. 4.The incidence of Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries associated with the other organs was as follows. In kidney injuries, Z cases were associated with intestine, 4 with liver, 3 with spleen and one each with radial nerve and iliac vessel. In bladder injuries. 2 cases were associated with pelvic bone, and one with spleen. In urethra injuries, 6 cases were associated with pelvic bone and 2 with intestine. 5. As for the multiplicity of Genito-Urinary-injuries, 4 cases were observed in scrotum, testis and urethra, and 3 each in urethra and bladder, and scrotum and testis. 6. Fibrous dysplasia in the orbit and cranial base may involve the optic canal. Although fibrous dysplasia is benign, it may produce a mass effect along the course of the optic nerve which can then induce visual disturbance as well as contour deformities of the skull and facial bone. The treatment of fibrous dysplasia in the orbit and cranial base is to resect the lesion as much as possible and then reconstruct immediately. As well, if there is any evidence of optic canal involvement and disease progression, the treatment of fibrous dysplasia may include optic nerve decompression. It is generally understood that some patients experience improvement of visual function after optic nerve decompression. We performed radical excision and reconstruction by means of autogenous calvarial bone graft and methylmethacrylate in 7 cases. The autogenous calvarial bone was used to reconstruct the orbit. The methylmethacrylate was used to reconstruct bony defect in the temporal area. The orbit was reconstruced into one block which was made of autogenous calvarial bone with a microplate and screw. This method is superior compared to the previous multifragment wiring method with regard to stability, operation time, and appearance. The patients in our series showed satisfactory appearance. In 6 cases, we performed optic nerve decompression. Therapeutic optic nerve decompression was done in 3 cases and prophylatic optic nerve decompression was done in the others. Following therapeutic optic nerve decompression, visual acuity was improved in 2 cases while the others showed a decrease in visual acuity. There was no change of visual acuity and visual field in 1 case after prophylactic optic nerve decompression. However, the others showed decrements in visual acuity or visual field. Therefore, we believe that more attention should be paid during optic nerve decompression procedure and strict indications to that procedure should be applied.

Myositis Ossificans progressiva is a very rare disease and not more than five cases have been reported in this country. The symptoms usually appear before the age of six and no case has ever been reported in medical literature in which patient is older than the age of twenty. This author reports here that a 52 years old male was diagnoed as a myositis ossificans progressiva. The patient developed his symptoms when he was lynched by a club during the Korean conflict at the Korean conflict at the age of thirty. Another interesting fact is that is that his daughter has also developed similar symptoms which appeared following an accident when she was run over by an angry cow at the age of six.

The question of infectivity and prevalence of Clonorchis sinensis in Cheju province (Quelpart Island) was arisen to authors since the several surveys on the endemic diseases were performed in this island. Therefore, authors decided to solute this question. Then the survey on the possible second intermediate host of Clonorchis sinensis was performed and reported already with negative finding. At present time, authors carried out the collection of all kinds of fresh-water snails through all areas of this island, to confirm the presence or not of Parafossarulus manchouricus, the only first intermediate host of Clonorchis sinensis in Korea . And the following results were obtained. The fresh-water snails collected in the survey were Semisulcospira libertina Gould and Lymnaea ollula Gould. Parafossarulus manchouricus Bourguigant was not collected in this island. It is confirmed that the Clonorchis sinensis can not be prevalent in this island.

We reported a case of Norwegian scabies in 14-year-old male with sepsis, pneumonia, pyopneumothorax and auto immune hemolytic anemia which subsequently became a source of ward epidemic of classical scabies, totalling 25 cases including physicians, nurses, other patients in the same ward and their families. The organisms of scabies on the KOH examination began to decrease 3-5 days after treatment, but they were detccted on the nail, elbow and fingerweb 19 days after treatment.

Extraskeletal Neoplasm Resembling Ewings Sarcoma was firstly reported with comprehensive review of 39 cases by L. Angervall and F.M. Enzinger in 1975. The tumors chiefly affected young adults and most commonly involved the soft tissue of lower extremity. Microscopically, they were consisted of solidly packed small, round or ovoid cells arranged in sheets or lobules, which were indistinguishable from those of the Ewings sarcoma of bone. The authors recently experienced a soft tissue sarcoma occurring in deltoid area of young male patient, which was diagnosed extraskeletal neoplasm resembling Ewings sarcoma. The case review is presented.

A cases is reported of congenital atlanto-occipital fusion in a 12-years-old girl. The lesion was treated by occipito-cervical arthrodesis by iliac bone grafting with wiring. The congenital atlanto-occipital fusion has not progressed in this 2 years of observation. This is presented with a review of literature.

Infantile cortical hyperostosis is a disease of infants which is characterized by formation of cortical subperiosteal new bone of the the body. Pain and soft tissue swelling over the affected parts, associated with fever and irritability, are found frequently with the disease. Usually self-limiting, it is not as a rule followed by any residual skeletal deformity. A case of Infantile cortical hyperostosis in three months-old baby was diagnosed and followed up to ten months.

The author reviewed eighteen congenitally dislocated hips in Kyung Hee University Hospital during the three and a half year period (rom September, 1973 to March, 1977. The following observations were made. 1. The average age of the patients at the first visit was 17.9 months. 2. All 16 patients were female. 3. There were 2 bilateral dislocations and 14 unilateral dislocations. 4. Left side was dislocated in 12 hips snd right side in 6 hips. 5. Limping was the chief complaint in 12(75%) of the patients. 6. Arthrogram gave valuable information as to make correct diagnosis and treatment. 7. Twelve hips were successfully treated by closed methods and 6 hips required operative treatment. 8. Following reduction, cast immobilization was continued for an average of 5 months in the conservative series. 9. In the conservative series, the acetabular index decreased from 33.4 degree before treatment to 28.1 degree immediately after removal of cast. 10. The results were good or excellent in all except for 2 cases of avascular necrosis and 1 case of redislocation.
