The diagnostic evidence on clinical diseases and theoretic basis of moving cupping therapy were ex- plored in the paper. By the observation of the local reaction, such as skin appearance and color, the affected location, duration of sickness and nature of disease were judged. Different moving cupping methods were selected for different disorders. It was discovered that the property of syndromes should be recognized by the palpation on skin and muscle in the moving cupping therapy so that the pathogenesis and treating principle could be carefully determined. The moving cupping therapy is the important component of body surface therapy. Skin reaction observation and syndrome differentiation is the essential guidance of the moving cupping therapy.

Objective To observe the effect of Manzhi Kechuan Ling(MKL)on pulmonary function and quality of life (QOL)of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)at stationary stage. Methods Seventy-six COPD patients were randomized into two groups. The treatment group (N=40)received oral use of MKL (mainly composed of Radix Ginseng,Radix Astragali,Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae,Colla Cornus Cervi,Placenta Hominis,Gecko,Semen Juglandis,Gecko,Fructus Perillae,Bulbus Fritillariae Cirrhosae,Rhizoma Pinelliae)for 6 months, and was followed up for another 6 months after suspension of medication. The control group (N=36)did not receive any medication. The pulmonary function,TCM syndrome scores,QOL scores and annual acute attack times were examined before treatment,6 and 12 months after treatment.Meanwhile, artery blood gas analysis was performed before treatment and 6 months after treatment. Results Inthe treatment group, the pulmonary function indexes of forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1)andforced vital capacity (FVC)were improved 6 months after treatment (P0.05).In the control group,FEV1 and FVC presented a decreasing trend 6 and 12 months after treatment, and FEV1 and FCV 12 months after treatment differed from those before treatment (P0.05).There showed statistical differences of PaO2 and PaCO2 between the two groups 6 months after treatment(P

Objective To investigate the relationship between the gene polymorphism of the inducible costimulatory molecules (ICOS),CD_(28),CD_(24) and susceptibility to multiple sclerosis(MS). Methods 83 patients with MS and 110 controls selected from healthy individuals and hospital staff in Chinese Han people with non-autoimmune diseases were studied by detecting genotype of the 3 genes using PCR-RFLP method. Results The frequency of ICOS-2394 TT genotypes was significantly higher in MS patients than in controls (MS 33.7%vs controls 10.9%, P

ObjectiveTo observe the curative effect of the Chinese traditional medicine combined with traction and physical therapeutic on lumbar intervertebral discprolapse (LIDP).Methods95 LIDP patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (50 cases) and control group (45 cases). Patients of the treatment group were treated by Chinese traditional medicine, traction and physical therapy. Patients of the control group were treated by traction and physical therapy only.ResultsThe total clinical effective rate of the treatment group was 100%, but that of the control group was 75.6%, there was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05).ConclusionChinese traditional medicine therapeutics is an effective non-surgical therapeutics for LIDP.

ObjectiveTo study the effects of Deanxit associated with illumination on the depressed patients with chronic pain in open psychology ward in general hospitals.Methods41 patients were assigned into two groups:study group included 21 patients, who received the treatment of Deanxit(1 mg/d),even more with the treatment of illumination;control group included 20 patients, who only received the treatment of Deanxit(1 mg/d).Assessments of the efficacy were performed with Beck depression inventory(BDI) and Hamilton depression scale(HAMD) before and in the 2nd,4th,8th week during treatment. In addition,Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90) was also used before and after treatment,as well as six month after discharge.ResultsThe efficacy was consistent with study group's superiority versus control group.ConclusionThe treatment consisting of Deanxit associated with illumination is effective on depression and helpful to prevent relapsing.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of light therapy combined with fluoxetine on winter attack depression.Methods68 patients of winter attack depression were divided randomly into the treatment group and control group with 34 cases in each group. Patients of the treatment group were treated by bright white light combined with fluoxetine (20 mg/d), but cases of the control group were treated only with fluoxetine. Therapeutic effects of two groups were evaluated with BDI, HAMD, and SCL-90 scales and traditional evaluation.ResultsPatients of the treatment group had a better effect than that of the control group (P<0.05).ConclusionLight therapy combined with fluoxetine has a good short and long term effect on winter attack depression, and can prevent from recurrence.

The stable and controllable quality of decoction pieces is an important factor to ensure the efficacy of clinical medicine. Considering the dilemma that the existing standardization of processing mode cannot effectively eliminate the variability of quality raw ingredients, and ensure the stability between different batches, we first propose a new strategy for Chinese medicine processing technologies that coupled with individuation processed and cybernetics. In order to explain this thinking, an individual study case about different grades aconite is provided. We hope this strategy could better serve for clinical medicine, and promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese medicine processing skills and theories.

OBJECTIVETo compare therapeutic effects between the normal rehabilitation and combined with manipulative method after arthroscopic capsular release for the treatment of severe frozen shoulder, and to evaluate the application value of manipulationp.
METHODSFrom March 2007 to July 2010,arthroscopic capsular release was performed in 48 cases (48 shoulders, 23 left side, 25 right side). All the patients were divided into two groups: control group (11 males and 15 females) and manipulation group (9 males and 13 females). The patients in the control group were treated with conventional rehabilitation procedure, and the patients in the manipulation group were treated with additional manipulation procedure. From the 2nd day after operation, the manipulation was performed for 20 minutes every time, twice daily, and it continued for 10 days. All the cases were followed up and the scale of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Standardized Assessment Form (ASES self-report section) and the range of motion (ROM) were recorded.
RESULTSThe mean follow-up period was (12.54 +/- 5.78) months (ranging from 4 to 25 months). Both ASES scores and ROM in the manipulation group were better than those in the control group at the 1st month after operation, and the difference between the ASES scores and flexion of the shoulder were significant. However, there was no significan difference at the latest follow-up.
CONCLUSIONCompared with the conventional rehabilitative procedure, manipulation following arthroscopic capsular release could promote the process of joint rehabilitation and help the patient back to normal life earlier, but there is no evidence of long term advantage.
