Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2005;13(6):465-466
The DNA microarray study showed that in STZ-induced diabetic rats the elevatedexpression of 42 genes in artery were depressed markedly after atorvastatin treat ment .This suggeststhat atorvastatin may have the protective effects on the diabetic vascular lesion.

Objective To investigate the relationship between polymorphisms of candidate genes 〔glucokinase (GCK) gene, NIDDM1(D2S140) gene, fatty acid bindingprotein2(FABP2)gene〕and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) in Shandong Chinese Han population. Methods Short tandem repeat (STR) region polymorphisms of GCK gene, NIDDM1 gene and FABP2 gene were analyzed with the polymerase chain reaction and polyacrylamide sequencing gel in 107 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 105 normal subjects. The subjects studied were unrelated and they are Chinese Hans living in Shandong province and no diabetes family history was revealed. Results A5 allele of GCK gene and B2 allele of NIDDM1 gene were positively related with type 2 diabetes (RR=15.70, P0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that A5 allele and B2 allele were among the risk factors of type 2 diabetes. Conclusion Polymorphic microastellite repeat markers at the glucokinase gene and the NIDDM1 (D2S140) gene locus are associated with type 2 diabetes in Chinese. The polymorphism at the FABP2 locus is not a genetic marker for type 2 DM in Chinese Hans.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2001;0(05):-
Objective To describe a minimal invasional surgical procedure for the treatment of avulsion fracture of tibial intercondylar eminence. Methods From July 1999 to December 2000, 26 cases of avulsion fracture of tibial intercondylar eminence were treated. With the arthroscope, reduction and absorbable suture fixation of anterior cruciate ligament or the avulsion fracture were performed. Taking the advantage of ACL- aimer, bone tunnels, through which the suture can be pulled out and tied outside the joint, could be accurately produced. Results Twenty-two patients were available for 2- 17 months(mean 10.5 months) follow-up. Seventeen patients gained normal range of motion, 5 have limited flexion but exceeded 90 degrees. X- ray demonstrated bone union in all the cases and anatomical reduction obtained in 21 cases. Conclusion Arthroscopically guided operation, gives less trauma, and is a simple and effective method for the avulsion fracture of the tibial intercondylar eminence.

Chinese Journal of Diabetes 1994;0(02):-
Objective To determine the relationship between the polymorphism of D2S140 gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods D2S140 region polymorphism were analyzed with the polymerase chain reaction and short tandem repeat methods in 103 subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 105 nondiabetic subjects. All subjects were biologically unrelated Chinese without a family history of DM.Results There were 7 alleles ranging from 151bp to 163bp in all subjects. The frequencies were 0.01 to 0.37,2 alleles were more common in diabetic patients than in nondiabetic subjects (RR=16.04, P

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2003;0(11):-
Objective To observe the possible relationship of cardiac troponin T (cTnT) with cardiac disease and death events in hemodialysis patients Methods The cTnT was measured with dry chemical method in 57 hemodialysis patients The patients were followed up for one year Results The concentration of cTnT was more than 0 10 ?g/L in 12 of the 57 unselected hemodialysis patients 8 in the 12 patients were diagnosed as diabetes mellitus 7 of 12 patients died and the death reason was acute left ventricular failure(33 3%) in 4 patients In other 45 patients with normal cTnT, 3 died and only 1 died of heart failure(2 22%) The cTnT concentrations of pre-and post-hemodialysis were measured in 24 patients The concentration was more than 0 1 ?g/L in 6 patients before dialysis Post-dialysis concentration was increased in 5 patients', the value was decreased in the other one Conclusions In hemodialysis patients without acute myocardial infarction, mortality and cardiovascular events are closely correlated with the increase of cTnT concentration. Patients with diabetes mellitus have higher incidence in the abnormality of cTnT concentration. The process of hemodialysis does not affect the concentration of cTnT.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(12):-
The recent studies have suggested that matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)are close associated with the instability of atherosclerotic plaques, the formation and development of intracranial aneurysm, ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic transformation. The study and application of MMP inhibitor may become a new approach in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of endoscopic treatment in patients with primary hepatic carcinoma and gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage. Methods Thirty cases of hepatic carcinoma with gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage diagnosed with gastroscopy between January 2008 and June 2015 in Chinese PLA General Hospital and Hainan branch were included. Patients′ clinical data, complications and therapeutic effects of endoscopy were retrospectively analyzed. Results All patients underwent endoscopy successfully. No recurrent bleeding was found in any case after treatment. Eight cases of varicosis nearly disappeared. Six?month follow?up showed three cases of gastrointestinal bleeding, one case of death of bleeding, and no recurrence hemorrhage in 27 others. Conclusion Endoscopic treatment could safely and effectively control the primary liver cancer combined with gastroesophageal variceal hemorrhage, hence may provide opportunity for further treatment of liver cancer.

Objective To investigate the effect on apoptosis and extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) expression of cholangiocarcinoma RBE cell line induced by paclitaxel and the role of extracellular signal regulated kinase in paclitaxel-induced apoptosis. Methods By techniques of cell culture in vitro, annexin-V-FITC and propidium iodide(PI)double staining and flow-cytometry (FCM), RBE cell line was treated by paclitaxel or together with MEK inhibitor PD98059 for 24 h. Using Western blot test the expression of ERK1, ERK2, pERK after RBE cell line was treated by paclitaxel or together with PD98059. Results Paclitaxel induced RBE cell line to apoptosis, the ratio of apoptosis was 14.8%?2.7%(n=6), the control apoptosis was 3.4%?1.3%(n=6,P
