Primary peptic ulcer disease in not known to be the result of underlying illness or trauma. These are most frequently duodenal or prepyloric. Since clinical features of peptic ulcer in children can easily be confused with many other disorders, the diagnosis is usually made when one of the more dramatic presentations, such as perforation, bleeding and obstruction. Recently, we experienced 2 cases of duodenal obstruction due to peptic ulcer in children. So, we report it with review of references.

Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases 2001;51(3):240-247
BACKGROUND: Tuberculous pleurisy treatment improve symptoms such as fever, chest pain, cough, and prevents the progression to active pulmonary tuberculosis and the development of residual pleural thickening that decrease diaphragm and rib cage movement. This study investigated how the degree of residual pleural thidkening affects the pulmonary function. METHODS: Fifty seven patients who were initially diagnosed as having tuberculous pleurisy, were treated with anti-tuberculous medication for 6 months and had residual pleural thickening between May 1998 and January 2000 at the Eulji university hospital were reviewed. A chest X-ray and pulmonary function test(PFT, Sensormedics 2200) were perfored. The predicted value (%) of the forced vital capacity(FVC), forced inspiratory vital capacity(FIVC) and total lung capacity(TLC) were measured. The residual pleural thickening was defined the average of the summation in the lateral chest at the level of the imaginary line intersecting from the cardiophrenic angle to the diaphragmatic dome and the lowest part of the costophrenic angle between them. The results were sorted into three grades according to pleural thickness; <2mm(grade I), 2~10mm(grade II), 10mm(grade III). RESULTS: 1. FVC(% pred) and FIVC(% pred) were statistically different between grade I and III, and II and III. However, there was no difference between the TLC(% pred) between each of the groups. 2. The pleural thickness that cause restrictive dysfunction(FVC<80%) and a statisticall difference, is 3 mm. CONCLUSION: The larger the extent of the residual pleural thickness after antituberculous medication, the greater the reduction in the FVC, FIVC, TLC. A pleural thickness of 3 mm is recommended as a guideline for diagnosing a restrictive pulmonary dysfunction.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1986;22(5):715-721
CT from fortynine patients with 53 surgical disc explorations were reviewed and correlated with surgicalfindings. The results were as follows: 1. Frequent locations of HNP were in L4–5 (65%) and L5-S1(31%). The mostcommon type of HNP was paramedian type (71%). 2. Focal protrusion of the posterior margin of disc and obliterationof epidural fat pad were observed in all of cases (100%) and other common findings were indentation of epiduralsac in 46 cases(96%) and compression of nerve root sleeve in 33 cases(69%). 3. Cephalad and caudad extension ofproturded soft tissue density in the spinal canal was observed in 15 cases (31%) with variable degree. And morethan 6mm extension were provided to be extruded disc in 9 cases. 4. Vacuum phenomenon was demonstrated in 5cases(10%) and was accompained with bulging annulus. 5. Forty eight herniated nucleus(HNP) were confirmedsurgically in 44 patients. Misinterpretations were made in 4 instances(4 patients); 1 because of lumbar scoliosis,1 because of spondylolisthesis, and the other 2 because of calcified posterior longitudinal ligament and bulgingannulus. One case of true negative examination was central and foraminal stenosis in spinal CT. Thus, sensitivity, specificity and overall accuracy of lumbar spine CT in HNP were 92%, 100% and 92%, respectively.

Journal of Agricultural Medicine & Community Health 2021;46(3):153-161
Background:
s: This study was performed to analyze the main key words of newspaper articles related to COVID-19 in 2020 for each category of quarantine measures according to the epidemic period of COVID-19.
Methods:
We analyzed articles related to COVID-19 in three major newspapers of Korea between February 17 and December 31, 2020. We targeted the front page articles on mondays and thursdays. The analysis of the relationship between the two variables was confirmed through the chi-square test.
Results:
As a result of analyzing the main key words for each category of quarantine measures, non-pharmaceutical intervention were the most common at 54.3%, followed by 3Ts(test, tracing, treatment and vaccine) at 31.9%. In the category of non-pharmaceutical intervention, social distancing was the most common at 33.9%. In the categories such as 3Ts(test, tracing, treatment) and vaccine, diagnostic tests were the most common at 41.8%.
Conclusions
It was identified that non-pharmaceutical intervention were the most common, and there was a difference in the reporting of main key words by category of quarantine measures for each epidemic period related to COVID-19 in 2020.

Leriche syndrome is a chronic disorder mostly in male and is a specific symptom complex due to thrombotic obliteration of the aortic bifurcation as result of an atherosclerotic change. The symptoms include 1) extreme liability to fatigue of both lower limbs; 2) symmetric atrophy of both lower limbs; 3) pallor of the legs and feets; 4) inability to maintain stable erection. There are several methods for surgical management of this disorder; 1) thromboendarterectomy with or without sympathectomy; 2) aortoiliac bypass graft; 3) aortofemoral bypass graft. Here we report a case of Leriche syndrome which was successfully managed with aortobifemoral bypass graft with Dacron and reviewed literatures on it briefly.

Korean Journal of Blood Transfusion 1995;6(2):193-200
Isoimmune hemolytic disease of the newborn due to anti-E is a disease characterized by the progressive neonatal hyperbilimbinemia and anemia which is caused by the IgG antibody transmitted from the mother to the ferns. Authors have experienced two cases of isoimmune hemolytic disease due to anti-E, who presented with jaundice on the first and the second day of life, respectively. The ABO and Rh blood types of their mother and father were B, CcDee and O, ccDEE, respectively. Both babies showed positive direct Coombs test and the mother showed strong positive indirect Coombs test. Antibody identification tests were made only in the first case and the mother, both of which revealed anti-E antibody. The first case was treated with phototherapy for 3 days and two blood transfusions. The second case was treated with phototherapy for 6 days and two exchange transfusions.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1993;27(6):673-675
We present a 37-year-old male who was found to had mas within the bronchus. This patients was admitted for the evaluation of cough. Chest CT scan showed endobronchial mass in the bifurcation of LUL and LLL bronchus. The left lower lobe was atelectatic. Lobectomy of the left lower lobe was done. On opening of the bronchus, there was a 2x1x1 cm sized endobronchial mass. Histologically, the mass was smooth muscle tumor composed of densely packed eosinophilic spindle cells in interlacing bundles with pale elongated nuclei covered by bronchial epithelium. On immunohistochemical staining, the tumor cells were positive for desmin. Ultrastructurally, the tumor cells exhibited numberous cytoplasmic microfilaments with focal densities, pinocytotic vesicles, and a thick basal lamina.
