Spinal cord injury (SCI),which lead to sensory and motor function impairment, refers to traumatic injury to the spinal cord. The main pathophysiological changing process can be divided into two phases:the preliminary injury phase and the secondary injury phase.Organ dysfunction, tissue necrosis, sensory and motor function of irreversible lesions and even death can be led by SCI and the secondary injury phase. In order to prevent the secondary injury and repair the injured central nerve system, medication, surgery, biomaterials transplantation and autologous peripheral nerve transplantation have been widely studied. However, these strategies can only reach a certain level of symptoms relieve and neural restoration, which cannot reach clinical satisfaction. Therefore,SCI has been treated as a global difficult and attractive topic.Since stem cells have the potential ability to promote neurons regeneration and/or even differentiate into neural like cells, they may also have anti-inflammatory,anti-apoptotic,anti-oxidative stress, and promote secretion of trophic factors and vascularization, they brought new hope for SCI patients.Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have attracted many researchers' attention for their multi characteristics including widely distribution, strong differentiation potential, easily isolating and storing and ethics avoiding. It has been proved that MSCs are effective for repairing SCI in vivo and vitro. In the latest 3 years, with the consummation of several clinical trials,a good prospect have been showed in the translation of MSCs transplantation into clinic.MSCs have been proved to have a significant prospect for clinical translation. At the same time, more specific issues were also raised. Thus, based on the latest 3 years clinical research and the author team's latest experimental results,we reviewed the MSCs on treating SCI from basic science to clinical trial and discussed its future development.

Objective To establish experimental radioactive wound model in miniature pig and observe its pathological changes in order to carry out in vivo study of radioactive wound-related diseases. Methods According to the random number table, eight adult Bama miniature pigs were divided into four groups after being anesthetized:normal control and experiment groups exposed to 0,10,20 and 30 Gy respectively using the X-ray linear accelerator. Then a puncher was use to prepare full-thickness skin defects (4 cm in length) in the irradiation site.Wound samples were collected every other week to observe wound healing.RT-PCR was used to measure expressions of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β in wound tissues 35 days after irradiation. At the same time,Western blot was utilized to detect expressions of CD31 and collagen Ⅰ.HE staining was applied to observe histopathological changes of the radioactive wound. Results Skin wounds in normal control group healed in 35 days.Whereas in 20 and 30 Gy experiment groups, the wounds were not healed in 63 days and the healing rate was gradually weakened with the irradiation dose increasing.Expression ratio of TNF-α mRNA was 0.315 ±0.007 in normal control group,0.984 ±0.211 in 10 Gy experiment group,1.140 ±0.088 in 20 Gy experiment group, and 0.471 ±0.030 in 30 Gy experiment group.Expression ratio of TGF-β mRNA was 0.402 ± 0.018 in normal control group,1.707 ± 0.147 in 10 Gy experiment group,1.933 ± 0.078 in 20 Gy experiment group, and 0.968 ± 0.084 in 30 Gy experiment group.Expressions of TNF-α and TGF-β mRNA were significantly increased in 20 Gy experiment group compared to normal control group (P < 0.05).Expressions of CD 31 and Collagen Ⅰ protein were inhibited in 20 Gy experiment group compared to normal control group (P<0.05).Epithelialization and granulation tissue regeneration in 20 Gy experiment group were impaired. Conclusion An irradiation wound model in Bama miniature pigs can be efficiently and effectively simulated using the 20 Gy X-ray irradiation combined with full-thickness skin defect, and can be used to study the pathophysiology and therapeutic intervention of radioactive wound-related diseases in vivo.

A yeast strain KM12 , which can convert conjugated anthraquinone of rhub arb to free anthraquinone , was screened. And it is identified as Kluyveromyces marxianus by 26S rDNA. The percentage of free an-thraquinone in total anthraquinone of rhub arb as an indicator was used to investigate the effect of culture medium component and fermentation processing conditions, such as seed age, fermentation time and liquid volume on con-version of conjugated anthraquinone by KM12. The optimal fermentation medium was determined by orthogonal test L9(43) and the composition (%) is yeast extract 1, glucose 2, and rhubarb 2. The 5% (V/V) of the seed culture inoculated 36-48 h was inoculumed to fermentation medium in shake flask to ferment at 30℃, 200 r?min-1 for 4 days. TLC analysis showed most of conjugated anthraquinone decomposed or converted into free anthraquinone in fermented rhub arb . It was concluded that the side effect of severe diarrhea caused by Chinese medicine rhub arb can be alleviated through fermentation processing by KM12 strain .

OBJECTIVETo establish an HPLC method for the content determination of baicalin, wogonin, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, cichoric acid, corynoline and adenosine in Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid.
METHODThe analysis was performed on a Phenomenex Luna C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 µm) with a gradient mobile phase of methanol-0.1% trifluoroacetic acid solution system at flow rate of 1.0 mL · min(-1). The detective wavelength was at 280 nm. The column temperature was 30 °C.
RESULTThe standard curves of seven studied components show good linearity in their concentration ranges with r ≥ 0.999 6. The average recovery was 98.73%-102.1% with RSD less than 2.6%.
CONCLUSIONThe method is rapid, simple and accurate, and can be applied for the quality control of Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2015;28(1):85-89
Successful pain management of perioperative shoulder arthroscopy may allow patients to go home earlier, improve the quality of life in perioperative period, and facilitate rehabilitation. A comprehensive method to perioperative pain control has three stages including preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phase. Successful pain reduction should begin preoperatively because of an excellent communication between patient and physician, moreover, preoperative analgesia also should be administered. Intraoperative efforts should include local wound infiltration and the administration of anesthetic medication intra-articularly. Postoperative management should include oral analgesics, constant infusion devices, Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA), sedative-hypnotic drug, continuous cryotherapy and vicarious treatment.
