Objective:To compare the effect of curing polymyalgia rheumatica either by using both Biqi capsule and prednisone or by using prednisone alone. Methods: Thirty-nine patients of polymyalgia rheumatica were randomly divided into two groups, 18 patients in the treatment group treated with Biqi capsule and small dosage of prednisone; 21 patients in the control group treated with small dosage of prednisone. The therapeutic course was 12 weeks. The patients' symptoms of muscle ache, inflexibility in the morning and T-cell subsets determination (CD4, CD8)were observed and scores of clinical practice was made. Results: The respective total effective rate was 94.44% for the treatment group and 66.67% for the control group. There was distinctive difference in the scores for the treatment group and the control group in relieving the patients of the symptoms of polymyalgia rheumatica. The treatment group would help the patients of polymyalgia rheumatica to improve their immunity ability. Conclusion: The combination of Biqi capsule and prednisone can help to improve the effect of curing polymyalgia rheumatica.
5.THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT CULTURAL CONDITIONS ONEXPRESSION OF ScFv GENES AGAINST ALPHA-TOXIN OFCLOSTRIDIUM PERFRINGENS TYPE A
Microbiology 1992;0(02):-
The ScFv gene containing Nco I and Bam HI was amplified by PCR, and inserted into the prokaryotic expression vector pHOG21 with Nco I and Bam HI digestion. After screening, high-level expression recombinant XL1-Blue (pHOG2E3) were obtained, and the different expression levels of ScFv were detected by SDS-PAGE and EUSA. When the strain was induced by 0.5 mmol/LIPTG and 0.4mol/L sucrose in the culture medium LB at 37℃ for 6 hours, the high level production of ScFv protein was obtained. The molecular weight of the expressed ScFv is 31, 000 D. The ScFv was mainly in the form of inclusion body, but it could also be in the culture medium and soluble periplasmic content. Above all, the ScFv protein could neutralize the phospholipase C activities of alpha-toxin of Gostridium perfrigens type A.

Objective To study the causes of conversions to open surgery during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Methods We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of conversions to open surgery during LC in this hospital between April 1998 to March 2002. Results Of 1368 cases of LC, conversions were required in 60 cases, the rate of conversion being 4.39%. Reasons leading to conversions included: 17 cases of adhesion in abdominal cavity and Calot's triangle, 14 cases of acute cholecystitis or recovery period of acute cholecystitis, 2 cases of carcinoma of gallbladder, 5 cases of internal fistula of blie duct to intestinal tract, 2 cases of common bile duct stones, 6 cases of atrophic cholecystitis, 2 cases of bleeding, 2 cases of bile duct injuries, 2 cases of Mirrizi's syndrome, 1 case of biliary fistula, 1 case of xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis, and 6 cases of other reasons. Conclusions Conversions to open surgery during LC are chiefly due to the unclear exposure of Calot's triangle, as well as the inadequacy of skills and experience of surgeons.

BACKGROUND: Currently, a variety of new dressings have been on the market, which are diversified and exhibit multifunctional trends. However, ideal wound dressings are still in exploration.OBJECTIVE: To introduce the basic physiological function and polymer advantage of dextran as well as its effects to promote wound healing in combination with other macromolecule materials, in order to impel the development of dextran as a new medical dressing .METHODS: A computer-based search of CNKI, PubMed, WanFang, VIP databases was performed to retrieve reviews or research articles addressing dextran and medical dressings published from January 2000 to December 2016. The keywords were dressing, dextran, wound healing in Chinese and English, respectively. Finally, 31 articles were included in result analysis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Dextran has the physiological functions of promoting wound healing and immune function. These physiological functions are the basis of dextran as a medical dressing. Additionally, dextran has some polymer advantages, such as water absorption, biodegradability and non-toxicity. It is noteworthy that dextran can be combined with macromolecules to produce new polymer materials that can promote wound healing in animal experiments. Taken together, dextran, as a medical dressing, has a broad clinical prospect in wound healing.

Objective To evaluation the comprehensive acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) intervention program conducting in men who have sex with men (MSM) population living in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. Methods A comprehensive intervention program was carried out among MSM groups in Hohhot and Baotou City. Seven hundred and six and 767 MSM were enrolled for investigation through the snowball method during May 2008 and May to June 2009, respectively. At the same time, 5 mL intravenous blood sample was collected from each subject for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) detection and intervention effect evaluation. Data were analyzed by x2test. Results After intervention, the awareness rate of HIV/AIDS knowledge increased from 70.7%(499/706) to 81.7%(627/767) (x2 =25. 004, P<0.01 ). The rate of consistent condom use in the last six months increased from 38.0%(254/668) to 45.3% (346/764) (x2=8. 269, P<0. 05). The percentage of subjects who had more than 5 different male sexual partner during the last 6 months significantly decreased from 42.8% to 24.6% (x2 = 55. 348, P<0.01). The median number of sexual partners in MSM decreased from 3 in 2008 to 2 in 2009. The HIV infection rate was 1.7 % in both 2008 and 2009. Conclusion The comprehensive intervention program among MSM population shows positive influence after one year implementation, which is helpful for increasing HIV/AIDS awareness and safe sex behavior in this population.
