Objective To study the relation between alcohol-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head (AIONFH) related with high morbidity TCM constitution type with CYP2C8 gene polymorphisms. Methods Totally 152 Han nationality NONFH cases from Feburary 2014 to September 2015 from outpatient and the inpatient departments in Gansu Province Hospital of TCM were collected. 50 AIONFH cases were set as medical case group; meanwhile, 45 healthy volunteers were enrolled as control group. Database for medical materials of all patients and volunteers was established. TCM distribution for AIONFH patients was determined. Solution DNA extraction kit was used to extract DNA, and detect the concentration and purity of DNA. The target gene was amplified by PCR and the target gene was amplified by gel electrophoresis. The length of the fragment was confirmed to conduct target gene sequencing. With the results of sequencing and gel electrophoresis, the relation of AIONFH with CYP2C8 gene polymorphism in AIONFH patients with phlegm-dampness syndrome and the control group.ResultsThe CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism was not statistically significant between the two groups (χ2=0.253,P>0.05). There was no significant difference in allele between the two groups (χ2=0.077,P>0.05). The risk of disease in CC genotype was 1.37 times higher than the AA genotype (95%CI: 0.339-5.540), without statistical significance (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in genotype and allele distribution between AIONFH patients with phlegm-dampness and non-phlegm-dampness and the control group (P>0.05).Conclusion CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism A/C mutation has no obvious relation with AIONFH risk. There is no clear relationship between CYP2C8 gene loci rs17110453 gene polymorphism with AIONFH.
6.Examining the impact of attributes and consumer characteristics influencing loyalty to Korean ramen among Chinese consumers using structural equation modeling and artificial neural network analysis
Journal of Nutrition and Health 2024;57(5):532-545
Purpose:
The globalization of food has increased consumer demand for imported food products. China is attracting attention as one of the major overseas consumer markets for Korean ramen. Nevertheless, further understanding of consumer needs is required to adapt to local market conditions and sustain sales growth. This study addressed this gap by investigating the intrinsic and extrinsic food attributes and local consumer characteristics using a hybrid approach of structural equation modeling and artificial neural network analysis to influence loyalty to Korean ramen.
Methods:
Two hundred Chinese consumers who participated in the survey had experience in consuming Korean ramen. Data were collected through paper questionnaires. A causality validation model was constructed to screen for factors with an impact on loyalty. The importance of attributes is then further discussed using artificial neural network models.
Results:
A causality validation model was constructed using structural equations to confirm the significant effects of intrinsic attributes (e.g., noodles), extrinsic attributes (e.g., packaging), food involvement, and income on loyalty. Using these factors as inputs, further analysis through an artificial neural network model showed that food involvement as an intrinsic consumer characteristic was the most critical factor in predicting loyalty to Korean ramen, followed by packaging, noodles, and income.
Conclusion
These findings revealed the important roles of product attributes and consumer characteristics in predicting loyalty. Therefore, increased attention to food-involved consumer segments, selection of appropriate packaging formats, and meeting consumer product sensory needs and their demand for variety may be more conducive to promoting loyalty to imported foods.

9.Factors influencing consumers’ continuance intention in online grocery shopping: a cross-sectional study using application behavior reasoning theory
Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2024;29(3):199-211
Objectives:
Online grocery shopping has gained traction with the digital transformation of retail. This study constructs a behavioral model combining values, attitudes, and reasons for behavior—specifically, facilitators and resistance—to provide a more novel discussion and further understand the relative influences of the various factors affecting continuance intention in online grocery shopping.
Methods:
Data were collected through an online questionnaire from consumers who had engaged in online grocery shopping during the past month in Seoul, Korea. All collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, and model validation was performed using partial least squares structural equation modeling.
Results:
Continuance intention is primarily driven by facilitative factors (compatibility, relative advantage, and ubiquity). Attitude can also positively influence continuance intention. Although resistance factors (price, tradition, and risk) do not significantly affect continuance intention, they negatively affect attitude. Values significantly influence consumers’ reasoning processes but not their attitude.
Conclusions
These findings explain the key influences on consumers’ online grocery shopping behavior in Seoul and provide additional discussion and literature on consumer behavior and market management. To expand the online grocery market, consumers should be made aware of the potential benefits of the online channel; the barriers they encounter should be reduced. This will help sustain online grocery shopping behavior. Furthermore, its positive impact on attitude will further strengthen consumers’ continuance intention.
