Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;(23):1113-1117
Lung cancer is the main cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for about 80% of lung cancer cases, but only 25%-30% of initially diagnosed patients have the option of radical surgery because of the lack of effective measures for early diagnosis. For locally advanced and advanced NSCLC, radiotherapy alone or comprehensive treatment with chemoradiotherapy is the main treatment method; however, the curative effect is unsatisfactory. Recently, increasing evidence sug-gests that targeted drugs, such as epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs), combined with radiotherapy/chemoradiotherapy represent a promising treatment modality for NSCLC. This review will discuss the research status of EGFR-TKIs and radiotherapy for locally advanced and advanced NSCLC.

Objective To investigate the value of MR DWI in comparing inflammatory with metastastic lymph node in animal models of lymph disease. Methods Eighteen rabbits with benign lymphadenopathy and 9 rabbits with malignant lymphadenopathy underwent routine MRI and DWI examination.Independent-samples t test was used to compare the sizes and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values between the two groups. Results Thirty-four inflammatory lymph nodes and 18 metastastic lymph nodes were observed .The size of lymph nodes was (8.14±2.79) and (6.29±1.48) mm in the benign and malignant groups, respectively. There was no significant statistical difference between the sizes of the two groups (t=2.624, P 0.05).Mean ADC value of lymph nodes was (1.19±0.31)×10-3mm2/s and (1.31±0.27)×10-3mm2/s in the benign and malignant groups, respectively. There was no significant statistical difference between the ADC values of benign and malignant lymph nodes (t=1.449,P 0.05).Conclusion DWI sequence can be used to show lymphadenopathy, but the ADC value is insufficient to differentiate benign lymph nodes from malignant lymphadenopathy.

Objective To explore the effects of glycosylation in E2 and E1 protein on specific cell fusion in rubella virus(RV)strain JR23.Methods Site-directed mutagenesis was used tO obtain mutants containing new enzyme sites on the E2 and E1 gene of RV JR23.All the mutants and wild type proteins were expressed in BHK21 cells and treated with acid medium to induce specific cell fusion. The fusion functions were assayed with Giemsa staining and reporter gene method for qualitative and quantitative analysis, respectively.Expression efficieneies of mutant proteins on cell surface were quantified with fluorescence-activated cell sorter(FACS).Hemadsorption assays were performed to detect binding activity of mutant proteins qualitatively and quantitatively. Results Mutant proteins E2 N53G,S73I and S131V had 62.73%,66.66%and 55.12% of fusion activities, and E1 T78A,T179A and T211A had 66.93%,87.33%and 90.18%of fusion activities, respectively,as compared with the wild type protein. The FACS indicated that the expression efficiencies of all the mutant proteins except E2 S131V were lower than that of the wild type protein.Hemadsorption assays demonstrated that binding abilities of E2 S73I and E1 T78A decreased slightly, but that of the other four mutant proteins Wns almost same as the wild type protein. Conclusion Glycosylation on E2 N53,N71,N129 and E1 N76 were important for the specific cell fusion, but E1 N177 and N209 were almost not.
7.Zweymüller spiral acetabular prosthesis for treating developmental dysplasia of the hip in adults
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(39):6274-6280
BACKGROUND:Spiral acetabular prosthesis has good stability during total hip arthroplasty.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the early therapeutic effect of Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis in total hip arthroplasty for patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip.
METHODS:Totaly 38 patients (48 hips) with developmental dysplasia of the hip received total hip arthroplasty with Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis from January 2011 to June 2013 were selected. The clinical effect was observed after the operation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 38 patients were folowed up for 21-46 months (averagely 42.3 months). One case suffered from deep venous thrombosis. Harris scores and Charnely scores apparently increased after surgery compared with that before surgery. The mean length of the osteotomy was 2.42±0.48 cm, and the mean extended length of the affected limb was 4.58±1.15 cm. X-ray films showed that there was no disunion of the osteotomy, no subsidence and loosening of prosthesis. The position of the acetabulum was suitable. The healing time of bone graft was 3-11 months (averagely 5.3 months). The coverage of the acetabular component was 92.5%, with a good initial stability, and the excelent rate of the operation was 90%. The satisfaction rate of patients was 84%. These results indicate that the Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis has the advantages of reasonable design, good initial stability, low loosening rate and high satisfaction degree. However, the number of cases of this study was relatively smal, the folow-up time was short, and only the short-term effect was evaluated. Thus, the midterm and long-term effects need to be observed by the folow-up evaluation.

Objective To analyze the present situation of technical efficiency in TCM hospitals throughout the country, discuss the influencing factors causing inefficiency and propose corresponding suggestions. Methods The technical efficiency in 60 TCM hospitals in the country was analyzed using the stochastic frontier cost model for panel data and the influencing factors causing inefficiency were discussed using the multiple stepwise regression method. Results The average technical inefficiency was 22.59% and inefficiency showed an upward trend as the areas shifted from the eastern through the middle to the western regions. Five factors, including the utility rate of beds and the proportion of health technicians among the entire hospital staff, were statistically significant so far as the effect on the increase of the overall cost was concerned. Conclusion The stochastic frontier cost model for panel data is the best method for evaluating the technical efficiency in TCM hospitals. On the basis of the above analysis, suggestions for strengthening scientific management, improving the utility rate of resources and reducing unnecessary waste are put forward.

Objective To investigate the serum levels of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) in patients with psoriasis. Methods Serum samples were collected from 68 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 42 healthy controls. The serum concentrations of HGF and GM-CSF were measured by a dual antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Clinical severity of psoriasis vulgaris was assessed by psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) score. Results Serum concentration of HGF of patients with psoriasis vulgaris in progressive stage (653.35 ? 109.26 pg/mL) was significantly higher than that of the normal controls (353.85 ? 162.63 pg/mL) (P 0.05). The serum concentration of GM-CSF was significantly higher in the patients with psoriasis vulgaris of progressive stage (115.95 ? 25.72 pg/mL) than that in the patients of stable stage (68.28 ? 24.22 pg/mL) (P
