The quail model of hyperuricemia combined with abdominal obesity was induced by high purine diet.Body weight in model group showed no change.Serum uric acid level in model group was increased significantly on 7,14,21,and 28 d( P<0.05 or P<0.01 ).Abdominal fat index in model group increased significantly on 28d.On 7 d and 28 d,serum free fatty acid level was increased significantly.Acetyl-CoA carboxylase( ACC ) protein expression in the liver of model quail was increased as shown by ELISA and immunohistochemisty ( P<0.05 or P<0.01 ),suggesting that the alteration of ACC expression contributes to the pathogenesis of hyperuricemia combined with abdominal obesity.

The personnel training is one of the core tasks of clinical Chinese pharmacy.Since the professional training of clinical Chinese pharmacy has started relatively late in China, the teaching contents and curriculum still need further improvements. This paper is aiming at analyzing the post tasks of personnel of clinical Chinese pharmacy, defining the knowledge structure of them, and learning from the characteristics of clinical Chinese pharmacy teaching systems of the foreign and domestic universities. On such basis, the paper proposes the ideas about constructing the curriculum system of clinical Chinese pharmacy,to provide a reference for the higher educational personnel training of clinical Chinese pharmacy.

Objective To investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial stimulation (rTMS) on learning and memory and on the neuron and synapse ultrastructures of the CA3 region of the hippocampus. Methods Forty Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =l0 in each group):a normal control group,a depression group,an rTMS group and a sham group.Unpredictable mild stress was used to establish depression models in the rats of the latter3 groups. The sucrose water consumption test and open-field test were used to evaluate any depressive behavior of each group. The rTMS group rats were given 15 Hz rTMS for 21 days while the sham group received sham stimulation. The orientational navigation and spatial probe tests were performed on each group using a Morris water maze to evaluate their learning and memory abilities. In addition, changes in the ultrastructure of the CA3 region of the hippocampus were detected using transmission electron microscopy. Results The modelling induced significant differences in the sucrose water consumption test results and in horizontal and vertical behavior in the open-field tests.Escape latency and spatial probe time were significantly different between the rTMS group and the sham and depression groups. There was no significant difference in the behavioral indexes between the depression group and the sham group.Electron microscopy showed pathological changes in the ultrastructures of the neurons and synapses in the CA3 region of the hippocampus among the depression group, while in the rTMS group those ultrastructures tended to be basically normal. Conclusion rTMS can improve learning and memory during depression,at least in rats.A possible mechanism is that rTMS can induce changes in the ultrastructures of neurons and synapses in the CA3 region of the hippocampus.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome in the aged. Methods Forty-two over 60 patients with obstruction sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) diagnosed by polysomnography (PSG) and 42 matched but less than 60 years OSAHS patients were selected, who were admitted to our hospital from February 2003 to December 2005. The clinical presentations and the results of PSG monitoring were analyzed between the two groups. Results The apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and microarousal index (MAI) in the aged group were significantly lower than that in the younger group (P0.05). The number of severe OSAHS in the aged group was less than in the younger group (P

AIM: To investigate the effect and mechanism of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) in topical treatment on trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis in rats. METHODS: Colitis was induced by intracolonic administration of TNBS and was treated with 5-ASA at the dose of 100 mg?kg -1 for 2 weeks. Normal control group was administrated with normal saline and TNBS control group was treated with TNBS, not with 5-ASA. Macroscopic damage, histological changes and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity were evaluated. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and malondialdehyde (MDA) level in colonic mucosa were detected by kits. The expression of interleukin-1? (IL-1?) and tumor necrosis factor-? (TNF-?) mRNAs in colonic mucosa was determined by a reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction method. RESULTS: Compared with TNBS control group, the macroscopic and histological changes and MPO activity in 5-ASA treated groups were improved. SOD activity was increased and the level of MDA in colonic mucosa was reduced significantly. The expression of IL-1? and TNF-? mRNAs in colonic mucosa was also decreased significantly. CONCLUSION: 5-ASA enema can significantly ameliorate TNBS-induced colitis in rats via antioxidant mechanism and attenuation of proinflammatory cytokine expression.

Hepatic tumor-specific magnetic resonance (MR) enhancement with Gd-EOB-DTPA can detect and distinguish small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with greater sensitivity than conventional magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography.Hepatic tumor-specific MR enhancement with Gd-EOB-DTPA is more sensitive in detecting focal HCC,and more reliable in detecting lesions with a diameter smaller than 2cm.Gd-EOB-DTPA is excreted through the kidneys and biliary tract, and thus may provide more information about anatomic structures, demonstrate non-obstruction of the intra- and extrahepatic bile duct system, and provide information about hepatic function.

Objective To explore the percentage changes of peripheral T , B cell subsets and NK cells in chronic HBV infectors under different immune states and hepatitis B cirrhosis . Methods Seventy-five chronic HBV infectors, including 20 cases with immune clearance, 20 cases with immunodeficiency (inactive) and 35 cases with cirrhosis, and 20 healthy control were enrolled. The percentages of peripheral T and B lymphocyte subsets and NK cells were detected by Flow Cytometry. The differences of the groups were analyzed. Results Comparing with the control group, CD4+T cells were decreased in the other four groups (P<0.05). The sequence of CD4+T cells, from high to low, was the control group, the immunodeficiency group, the immune clearance group, the compensated cirrhosis group and the de-compensated cirrhosis group. CD4+/CD8+T cell and NK cell were lower , but CD8+T cell and B cell were higher in immune clearance group than that of the control group (P < 0.05). Patients in immunodeficiency group had lower ratio of CD4+/CD8+T cell and higher CD8+T cell than those in the control group (P < 0.05). In all the groups, patients with de-compensated cirrhosis showed highest ratio of CD4+ to CD8+ T cells and B cells, but lowest CD3+T, CD8+ T and NK cells (P < 0.05). Conclusions Results suggests immune dysfunction exists in patients with chronic HBV infection. It has potential clinical value in understanding patients′ immune states and progression of disease by detecting peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and NK cells.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of hydroxychloroquine(HCQ) in pregnant patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).Methods Twenty-four pregnant patients with SLE treated with HCQ during pregnancy from May,2006 to February,2011 were studied retrospectively. All babies were followed up during early infancy for growth development.ResultsOf them,22 patients were treated with HCQ throughout the whole pregnancy with no lupus flare occurred in 21 patients (95.4%),while temporary discontinuation of HCQ precipitated a flare of disease in two patients.Three patients ( 12.5% ) had premature delivery, and pregnancy induced hypertension happened in 3 patients (12.5% ).No congenital abnormalities occurred and mean follow-up of 26 months ( range 1 - 47 months) revealed no abnormalities in these children. Conclusion Our findings reinforce the safety of HCQ therapy during pregancy and HCQ should probably be maintained throughout the pregancy in patients with SLE.
