2.Primary study of diffusion-weighted imaging in evaluation of fetal renal development
Journal of Practical Radiology 2016;32(4):580-583
Objective To investigate the characteristics of apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC)values in the normal fetal kidney and to explore the normal data reference of fetal kidney by using diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI).Methods 71 normal kidneys of fetuses confirmed by ultrasound and MR were examined with DWI with four b values of 100 s/mm2 ,200 s/mm2 ,500 s/mm2 and 700 s/mm2 ADC values of the symmetrical ROIs were compared between left and right kidney for each b value. While ADC values between different group in ipsilateral kidney were compared between different b values. And the relationship between ADC values and gestational age was also evaluated. Results When b = 100 s/mm2 ,there was a statistically significant difference between the ADC value of left and right kidney, and the remaining group showed no statistically significant differences between the ADC values of left and right kidney.Comparisons among different b values of ipsilateral kidney showed statistically significant differences among the groups with different b values except the comparison between b=100 s/mm2 and b=700 s/mm2 groups of the right kidney with the increase of gestational weeks, the ADC values of bilateral kidneys were declining, and there was a reflection of this trend in different b values. Conclusion It is feasible for using DWI to evaluate the fetal kidney development. With a selected different b value,ADC value is a specific quantitative parameter that could help evaluating normal fetal kidney development.

To improve the braking safety of automobiles, the author studied the effect of differential brake on the stabilities. To analyze the mechanical characteristics of differential brake, automotive subsystem models were built by applying ADAMS/CAR, and automotive mechanics simulation model was built by setting the main subsystems such as body, engine and brake. The simulation model studied the distribution mode of three kinds of differential brake, and beeline braking stability and turning braking stability were simulated. It shows that differential brake can amend turning shortage of automobile brake and improve its braking stability, but the effect of automobile mass on its braking stability is great. So the distribution mode of braking force and the effect of mass change should be considered while differential brake is applied.
6.Zweymüller spiral acetabular prosthesis for treating developmental dysplasia of the hip in adults
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(39):6274-6280
BACKGROUND:Spiral acetabular prosthesis has good stability during total hip arthroplasty.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the early therapeutic effect of Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis in total hip arthroplasty for patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip.
METHODS:Totaly 38 patients (48 hips) with developmental dysplasia of the hip received total hip arthroplasty with Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis from January 2011 to June 2013 were selected. The clinical effect was observed after the operation.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 38 patients were folowed up for 21-46 months (averagely 42.3 months). One case suffered from deep venous thrombosis. Harris scores and Charnely scores apparently increased after surgery compared with that before surgery. The mean length of the osteotomy was 2.42±0.48 cm, and the mean extended length of the affected limb was 4.58±1.15 cm. X-ray films showed that there was no disunion of the osteotomy, no subsidence and loosening of prosthesis. The position of the acetabulum was suitable. The healing time of bone graft was 3-11 months (averagely 5.3 months). The coverage of the acetabular component was 92.5%, with a good initial stability, and the excelent rate of the operation was 90%. The satisfaction rate of patients was 84%. These results indicate that the Zweymüler spiral acetabular prosthesis has the advantages of reasonable design, good initial stability, low loosening rate and high satisfaction degree. However, the number of cases of this study was relatively smal, the folow-up time was short, and only the short-term effect was evaluated. Thus, the midterm and long-term effects need to be observed by the folow-up evaluation.

BACKGROUND:Heat Induction Typodont System (HITS) and Double-Slot Lingual Bracket System are patented products of the research group. It is very important to explore a good control of anterior tooth torque on the micro-implant-double-slot lingual bracket system.OBJECTIVE:To provide the experimental basis for force system applied for controlling the anterior tooth torque in lingual orthodontics through Typodont experiment based on the HITS.METHODS:Sixteen Class Ⅱ1 maxillary Typodont models without first premolar were made.Micro-implants were implanted in the lingual region of posterior teeth and labial region of anterior teeth. The direction of the retracting force was adjusted by changing the position of the lingual micro-implant (with a distance of 4,8 mm from the alveolar crest) and the length of the hook (4,8 mm).And lingual retracting force (150,300 g) and labial intruding force (50,100 g) were loaded. The tooth movement by HITS was simulated and the models were scanned before and after force loading. Then the three-dimensional images were reconstructed by Mimics 17.0.Factorial variance analysis was adopted to compare the anterior movement changes under different loading modes.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:When the length of the hook was 4 mm/8 mm and the lingual micro-implant was 6 mm/10 mm from the alveolar crest, the displacement difference between the incisal edge and the root of the anterior teeth was smaller than other groups. The optimal mechanics was 150 g for the lingual retracting force and 100 g for the labial intruding force. It could provide a satisfactory control to the anterior teeth torque when retracting force and labial intruding force were loaded at the same time during the space closing phase of lingual treatment. This study based on HITS provided a scientific basis for the clinical application of micro-implant-double-slot lingual bracket system in space closing phase.
