Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of the special sequences and methods of MRI in liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Methods:100 cases of liver cirrhosis were examined by 3DT1W/FFE and SENSE-BABLANCE sequences and compared with normal livers. Results: ① 3DT1W/FFE imaging has clear advantage over conventional scan in detecting cirrhotic nodules. ② The peak of signal intensity ASD (average standard deviation) in normal livers and the minimum of signal intensity ASD in liver cirrhosis cases were found . If signal intensity standard deviation in liver was over 30, liver cirrhosis should be considered. ③ The degree of hypertension and the size of portal vein and its branches were evaluated by SENSE-BABLANCE sequences. Conclusion: MRI special sequences and methods play a significant role in the early diagnosis of liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension.

Objective To investigate BAALC(brain and acute leukemia cytoplasmic)gene expression in patients with de novo acute myeloid leukemia(AML)and its clinical significance. Methods BAALC expression was determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RQ-PCR) in 63 de novo AML patients. The association between BAALC expression and therapeutic effect was analyzed. Results The correlation coefficiencies were over 0.99 for standard curves of RQ-PCR method. BAALC expression was detected in 49(78%)AML patients. The peripheral WBC counts, hemoglobin, platelet counts and the bone mahow blast cell percentage at onset in 31 AML patients with high BAALC expression were(26.3?18.1)?10~9/L,(78.3?21.8)g/L,(76.9?64.5)?10~9/L and(61.2?22.3)% and those of 32 AML patients with low BAALC expression were(30.2?21.7)?10~9/L,(81.6?30.9)g/L, (73.9?57.2)?10~9/L,(54.3?16.3)%,respectively.No statistic differences were found between these two groups. The AML patients with normal chromosome karyotypes are more likely to have a high BAALC expression(68%)compared with those with abnormal chromosome karyotypes(23%,?~2=12.093,P= 0.001).AML patients with normal cytogenetics and high BAALC expression shows significant lower CR rate (65%)compared with those with low BAALC expression(84%,?~2=6.573,P=0.013). Conclusion High BAALC expression may define an important risk factor in AML with normal cytogenetics and predicts an adverse prognosis.

OBJECTIVETo identify the anatomical variability of the left spermatic vein (LSV) and determine its effect on the induction of experimental left varicocele (ELV) in adolescent rats.
METHODSWe equally randomized 30 adolescent male SD rats to groups A (LSV collaterals fully ligated and the left renal vein constricted), B (only the left renal vein constricted), and C (sham operation), observed the courses of the LSVs and measured their diameters. At 30 days after operation, we analyzed the changes in the left kidneys and the diameters of the LSVs.
RESULTSIrregular collaterals were observed in 90% of the LSVs and no abnormal changes were found in the left kidneys after surgery. The postoperative LSV diameter was remarkably increased in group A as compared with the baseline ([1.47 +/- 0.15 ] vs [0.16 +/- 0.08] mm, P < 0.01), but showed no significant difference in group B ([0.31 +/- 0.49] vs [0.15 +/- 0.07] mm, P > 0.05) and C ([0.17 +/- 0.07] vs [0.16 +/- 0.06] mm, P > 0.05), and it was significantly longer in A than in B (P < 0.01). The success rate of ELV induction was 100% in group A and 10% in group B, but no varicocele was observed in group C.
CONCLUSIONCorrect identification of the anatomical course of the LSV and ligation of its irregular collaterals are essential for the establishment of a stable and consistent ELV model.

Objective To discuss the feasibility and effects of cemented artificial bipolar arthroplasty for senile patients with femoral intertrochanteric instable fractures. Methods From January 2004 to June 2008,46 aged cases with femoral intertrochanteric instable fractures were cured with cemented artificial bipolar arthroplasty. According to improving-classfication of Evans, there were 19 cases with type Ⅲfractures and 27 cases with type Ⅳ fractures. Results All cases were successfully operated. The surgery time was 50-90 (68.00 ±20.43) minutes. Bleeding volume was 160-600 (210.00 ±40.26) ml. The time in hospital was 16-26 (19.30 ± 4.56) days. All cases were retrospectively reviewed for 6-39 (17.10 ± 4.33)months. Three cases died of other diseases, 43 cases were graded by the system of Harris. The Harris scale was 70-94 (86.70 ±5.16) scores, and the choiceness rate was 90.7%(39/43). No dislocation, loosening, subsidence and late infection occurred in all the implants. Conclusions Cemented artificial bipolar arthroplasty has good advantages of reduced laying up period and few complications. The short-term outcome is satisfactory.
10.Study on the correlation between telomere dysfunction of human gastric mucosa and chronic atrophic gastritis
Chinese Journal of Digestion 2023;43(1):47-51
Objective:To investigate the correlation between telomere dysfunction of human gastric mucosa and chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG).Methods:From February 12, 2019 to July 10, 2020, at Endoscopy Center, Guang′anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Sciences, 30 patients received endoscopy and pathological diagnosed with CAG (CAG group) were collected, and 30 patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis (CNAG) were collected at the same time (CNAG group). The relative telomere length was detected by real time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The expression of telomere repeat binding factor (TRF) 1, TRF2 and protection of telomere (POT) 1 at protein level were detected by immunohistochemical staining and semi-quantitative analysis. Spearman analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the relative telomere length of gastric mucosa and the protein expression levels of TRF1, TRF2 and POT1. Mann-Whitney U test and independent sample t test were used for statistical analysis. Results:The relative telomere length of the gastric mucosa in the CAG group was shorter than that in the CNAG group (0.67 (0.51 to 1.17) vs. 1.06(0.69 to 1.37)), and the difference was statistically significant ( U=297.00, P=0.024). The protein expression levels of TRF1, TRF2, and POT1 in the CAG group were all higher than those in the CNAG group, respectively (4.26±2.49 vs. 1.86±1.34, 10.12±2.76 vs. 8.78±2.81, 4.22±2.48 vs. 2.53±1.62), and the differences were statistically significant ( t=8.05, 3.23, 5.39; P<0.001, =0.001, and <0.001). In the CAG group, the protein expression levels of TRF2 and POT1 in gastric mucosa were negatively correlated with the relative telomere length ( r=-0.477 and -0.417, P=0.008 and 0.022). Conclusions:The telomere dysfunction is related to the pathogenesis of CAG. The change of telomere binding protein expression level is involved in the shortening of telomere and pathological process of CAG patients.
