Objective To observe the changes of macula in patients with high myopia after phacoemulsification. Methods In 20 patients with high myopia with ocular axial length≥27 mm, optical coherence tomography (OCT) was performed on the operative and contralateral eyes 1 week before and after monocular phacoemulsification, respectively, and the OCT images of macula of the operative eyes were observed and compared. Results One week before and after phacoemulsification, the mean macular fovea thickness of the patients with high myopia was (131.6?16.37) ?m and (189.75?45.69) ?m, respectively, with a significant difference (t=2.805, P=0.01). Simultaneously, the mean macular fovea thickness of the contralateral eyes was (133.5?15.12) ?m and (133.5?14.63) ?m, respectively, with a non-significant difference (t=1.367, P=0.853). In 20 operative eyes 1 week after phacoemulsification, 3 had vitreous strand around the macula with retinal thickening, 1 had retinoschisis in macular area, and 2 had obvious retinal thickening with slight retinal edema. Conclusion Retinal thickening occurs in the patients with high myopia after phacoemulsification. Traction of retina by vitreous strand or subclinical retinoschisis may occur in some patients.

0.05). In 30 eyes of diabetics with phacoemulsification, 11 eyes had new macula edema after surgery and 3 eyes had significant retinal thickening. In 6 eyes with macular edema before surgery, the macular edema were aggravated in 3 eyes after surgery. The macular structural changes were not found in two control groups. Conclusion The thickness of retina is inreased after phacoemulsification in deabetics, and morbidity and its severity of postopevative macular edema are increased as well.

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of electroanatomically guided mapping and radiofrequency ablation under CARTO system for premature ventricular contraction. Methods The CARTO electroanatomical mapping system displays real time three dimensional chamber structure with electrical information related to signal amplitude and activation time. Drugrefractory and frequent premature ventricular contractions were ablated under CARTO system. Results Frequent premature ventricular contractions were successfully ablated in all 8 patients with mean 2.2?1.7 radiofrequency applications under CARTO system. 6/8 frequent premature ventricular contractions occured in right ventricule, and 2/8 in left ventricule. After ablation, the premature ventricular contractions declined from 24 711?5 612 beats/24h to 0-5 beats/24h, and patient′s symptoms almost disappeared. No recurrent case was found during a period of 3-12 months following observation, and the premature ventricular contractions remained ≤10 beats/24h. Conclusions The CARTO electroanatomical mapping system, referred to the electrophysiologic data, may be applied in guiding the radiofrequency ablation of drug-refractory and frequent premature ventricular contractions in those patients who have no organic heart disease for its safety and accurate orientation.

Objective To explore the relationship between preoperative plasma N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) after cardiac valve replacement (CVR) combined with radiofrequency ablation. Methods Fifty-eight patients with AF undergoing CVR combined with radiofrequency modified Maze procedure were enrolled in this study. The patients were allocated to either AF recurrence group (AF group,18 cases) or AF no recurrence group (SR group,40 cases) according to whether patient's AF recurrence or not within 3 months after surgery.NT-proBNP were respectively measured in two groups in 1st day before operation and 9th day after operation by radioimmunoassay. Results All the 58 patients were involved in the final analysis.NT-proBNP levels in 1st day before operation and 9th day after operation in AF group was significantly higher than that in SR group (2061.30 ng/L vs.579.00 ng/L,996.60 ng/L vs.209.20 ng/L,P< 0.01 ).NT-proBNP levels in 1st day before operation in two groups was significantly higher than that in 9th day after operation (P < 0.01 ).Conclusions There is a good relationship between preoperative plasma NT-proBNP levels and recurrence of AF.It has a clinical value in predicting of recurrence AF after CVR combined with radiofrequency modified Maze procedure.

50%) of the stent at 2 weeks follow-up,so did 3 cases at 12 weeks follow-up,and the total stenosis rate was 37.5% and 5 cases manifested full endothelialization(3 different locations of the sample all manifested full endothelialization) ,3 cased manifested partial endothelialization(at least 1 location of the sample didn't show full endothelialization) ,and the two terminal parts were easier to get endothelialization than the central part. Before and after the stent implantation, hepatic function of all cases didn't demonstrate any obvious changes. Conclusions Balloon-expandable covered stent can be implanted in canine hepatic artery successfully, with good apposition ability, full endothelialization, and no influence on hepatic function.

The application of covered stent in vascular malformation such as aneurysm, pseudoneurysm(PSA) ,arteriovenous fistula(AVF) has outcome to an encouraging result.Recently,it has also been effectively used for PTA,TIPS,traumatic lesions of peripheral vessels, and pseudoneurysm of dialysis grafts, etc. But there still remain some issues on the restenosis and endothelialization after the performance with covered stent. This review will pay attention to them.

Fifty-six patients diagnosed as early stage lung cancer by spiral CT scan, underwent CTguided percutaneous transthoracic biopsy with a successful rate of 100%.Forty nice cases were confirmed pathologically including adenocarcinoma in 30 cases, squamous carcinoma in 14,alveolar cell carcinoma in 2 and small cell lung cancer in 3.Three cases were diagnosed as chronic inflammatory lesion,2 cases as tuberculosis and the diagnosis was not confirmed in 2 cases. The results suggest that CT-guided percutaneous transthoracic biopsy is an effective diagnostic measure for patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ lung cancer.
