Myocardial infarction （MI） and osteoporosis （OP）， as two prevalent metabolic diseases with high morbidity and mortality rates， are respectively characterized by cardiovascular system dysfunction and bone homeostasis imbalance， collectively posing significant global public health challenges. While clinically often considered as independent diseases， recent studies have revealed shared pathological mechanisms between the two. This study initiated its exploration from the traditional Chinese medicine concept of the "heart-bone" axis， systematically analyzing the correlation between MI and OP from perspectives including hemodynamics， neuroendocrinology， calcium homeostasis， inflammation and vascular injury， as well as hormone levels. ObjectiveTo investigate the impact of anticentromere antibody （ACA） on the clinical features and prognosis of patients with primary biliary cholangitis （PBC） by comparing clinical classification， ursodeoxycholic acid （UDCA） response， GLOBE score， and UK-PBC score between ACA-positive PBC patients and ACA-negative PBC patients. MethodsA total of 749 patients who were admitted to Beijing Ditan Hospital， Capital Medical University， from August 2013 to December 2022 and were diagnosed with PBC were enrolled and divided into ACA-positive group with 147 patients and ACA-negative group with 602 patients. According to their conditions on admission， the two groups were compared in terms of the distribution of clinical types， i.e.， chronic progression-type PBC， portal hypertension-type PBC， and standard jaundice/liver failure-type PBC. There were 261 patients with complete data after 1-year follow-up， among whom there were 53 patients with positive ACA and 208 with negative ACA. A statistical analysis was performed， and propensity score matching was performed based on sex and age at a ratio of 1∶2. The two groups were compared in terms of 1-year UDCA response rate， GLOBE score， and UK-PBC score before and after matching. The independent-samples t test or the Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of continuous data between two groups， and the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between two groups. ResultsCompared with the ACA-negative group， the ACA-positive group had a significantly higher age （61.28±10.35 years vs 56.74±12.17 years， t=4.164， P<0.001）， a significantly higher proportion of female patients （93.9% vs 77.6%， χ²=20.221， P<0.001）， a significantly higher proportion of patients with portal hypertension （48.3% vs 27.6%， χ²=23.289， P<0.001）， and a significantly lower proportion of patients with jaundice/liver failure （24.5% vs 38.5%， χ²=10.205， P<0.001）. After 1-year follow-up， for the 261 PBC patients with complete data， there was no significant difference in UDCA response rate before propensity score matching between the ACA-positive group and the ACA-negative group （41.5% vs 41.8%， P>0.05）， and there was a significant difference in the proportion of patients with a GLOBE score of >0.3 between the ACA-positive group and the ACA-negative group （92.5% vs 80.3%， χ²=3.935， P=0.047）. There were 53 patients in the ACA-positive group and 106 patients in the ACA-negative group after propensity score matching， and there were no significant differences between the two groups in UDCA response rate， GLOBE score， and UK-PBC score （all P>0.05）. ConclusionACA-positive patients tend to have an older age， with a higher proportion of female patients or patients with portal hypertension， while there is a relatively low proportion of patients with jaundice/liver failure. Positive ACA has no significant impact on UDCA response rate， GLOBE score， and UK-PBC score.

ObjectiveTo clearly identify the difference between rescue injuries and agonal injuries and to avoid duplicate identifications and misidentifications. MethodsBased on the forensic pathological data of 5 923 cases of death cause identification from 2013 to 2022 in Sun Yat-sen University Forensic Identification Center and Guangzhou Tianhe District Branch of Guangzhou Public Security Bureau， this study retrospectively studied the characteristics of rescue injuries and agonal injuries seen in cause of death identification and their influence on cause of death identification. ResultsAmong all the 5 923 cases， 640 cases were found to have rescue injuries or agonal injuries， and 624 cases received treatment， of which 609 cases were found to have rescue injuries （97.60%）， 44 cases were found to have agonal injuries， and 13 cases were found to have both types of injuries. Among the 640 cases， 441 were male and 199 were female. The age of death was discontinuously distributed from 0 to 95 years old. The leading cause of death was disease， followed by mechanical injury and asphyxia. The main manifestations of rescue injuries were rib and sternum fractures， soft tissue injuries in the prechest area or face， and pericardial rupture. The most common injuries in agonal stage were falling after unconsciousness， inhalation of foreign body in respiratory tract or multiple violent injuries. Among the 640 cases， 19 cases were repeatedly identified， including 15 cases of rescue injuries， 6 cases of agonal injuries， and 2 cases of both types of injuries. Compared with the cases where neither type of injuries was detected， the repeated identification rate of treatment injuries and agonal injuries was significantly increased （χ²=4.04， P=0.044； χ²=43.49， P<0.001）. Among the 640 cases， 11 cases （1.72%） were misidentified as the initial injuries in the first identification， and 13 cases had combined rescue injuries or agonal injuries that were involved in death. ConclusionsBy elucidating the epidemiological characteristics of the two types of injuries， this study proved that the two types of injuries were associated with higher rates of repeated identification and misidentification， which provided a reference for reducing repeated identification and misidentification and improving the accuracy of cause of death identification.

Objective: To analyze the trajectories of blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) among primary and secondary school students aged 7-17 in Shunyi District of Beijing, and to explore the association between different growth trajectories and visual outcomes, so as to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of common diseases in children and adolescents. Methods: Health examination data (including vision, blood pressure and BMI) of primary and secondary school students in Shunyi District of Beijing from 2019 to 2023 were collected and analyzed. Group based trajectory modeling was used to classify the trajectories of BMI and blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) into distinct groups among students aged 7-17 years. The relationship between these trajectories and visual outcomes was examined using binary Logistic regression analysis. Results: The prevalence of screening myopia among students in Shunyi District was 57.2%, while the rate of moderate to severe visual impairment was 55.8%. Based on the latent growth model, the trajectories of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and BMI were divided into three groups:low growth trajectory, moderate growth trajectory and high maintenance trajectory. Logistic regression analysis revealed that, compared to the low growth trajectory group, the moderate growth and high maintenance trajectory groups for systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and BMI were associated with an increased risk of screening myopia ( OR =1.14, 1.11; 1.07, 1.19 ; 1.06, 1.08, P <0.05). Similarly, the moderate growth and high maintenance trajectory groups for systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and BMI were similarly associated with an increased risk of moderate to severe visual impairment ( OR = 1.12 , 1.12; 1.09, 1.17; 1.08, 1.11, P <0.05). Conclusions Moderate growth and high maintenance trajectories of blood pressure and BMI are associated with an increased risk of screening myopia and moderate to severe visual impairment among students. It is recommended to closely monitor changes in blood pressure and overweight/obesity trajectories in primary and secondary school students, conduct regular assessments, and actively prevent the development and progression of multimorbidity and comorbidity.

ObjectiveTo find out whether there is any difference in the monitoring results of mosq-ovitraps placed in different orientations in multi-storey residential areas, so as to provide a scientific basis for routine and emergency monitoring of Aedes albopictus with mosq-ovitraps in residential areas. MethodsFrom July 6th to October 26th 2023, one mosquito ovitrap was set up in each of the 4 orientations of east, south, west and north around the buildings in a multi-storey residential area in Jinhui Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai. Data was collected and recorded 72 hours after placement. The chi-square test was used to compare the mosquito ovitrap indices (MOIs) of two independent samples, and the Kruskal⁃Wallis H test was used to compare the MOIs of multiple independent samples. ResultsAfter 16 weeks of surveillance, 997 mosquito ovitraps were recovered, of which 211 were positive, with the mosquito ovitrap index (MOI) of 21.16% and the Aedes albopictus density index of 1.03 mosquitoes·ovitrap^-1. The MOIs were higher in September (24.22%) and October (23.96%), and the MOIs in the west, south and north within the two months were all above 20.00%. From July to October, the MOIs in the east, west, south and north were 20.70%, 22.20%, 25.50% and 16.20%, respectively, and the difference in MOIs among the 4 orientations was not statistically significant (χ²=6.647, P=0.084). Stratified analysis by month showed that in August, the south side of the multi-storey residential areas had the highest MOI (31.30%), the north side had the lowest MOI (1.30%), and there was a statistically significant difference in MOI in the east, west, south and north (χ²=25.986, P<0.001). In October, the MOI in the west was the highest (33.30%) and the MOI in the east was the lowest (6.30%), the difference in MOIs of the 4 orientations was statistically significant (χ²=12.007, P=0.007). The MOIs in the south side of the building in the outskirts of the residential area from the 1st week in July to the 4th week in October was lower (19.20%) than that in the south side of the inner building (31.70%), and the difference in MOI was statistically significant (χ²=5.118, P=0.024). ConclusionThe study of MOI in different orientations in a multi-storey residential area is a preliminary exploration based on field work, and the results show that there is a difference in MOIs in different orientations during the peak breeding period of mosquitoes. Further indicators such as temperature, humidity and wind speed in different orientations can be collected to explore the influencing factors of MOIs.

MethodsA total of 27 batches of Alumen samples from 8 production regions were collected for preliminary identification based on visual characteristics. The PDF standard cards of XRD were used to differentiate Alumen from A. alum， and the XRD characteristic profiles of Alumen were established， and then the common peaks were screened. Based on hierarchical clustering analysis（HCA） and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis（OPLS-DA）， the characteristic information that could be used for identification of Alumen was selected with variable importance in the projection（VIP） value>1. FTIR characteristic profiles of Alumen were established， and key wavenumbers for identification were screened by HCA and OPLS-DA with VIP value>1. Meanwhile， the thermogravimetric differences between Alumen and A. alum were analyzed by TG-DTA， and the thermogravimetric traits that could be used for identification were screened. ResultsAlumen and A. alum could not be effectively distinguished by traits alone. However， by comparing the PDF standard cards of XRD， 15 batches of Alumen and 12 batches of A. alum could be distinguished. In the XRD profiles， 10 characteristic peaks were confirmed， corresponding to diffraction angles of 14.560°， 24.316°， 12.620°， 32.122°， 17.898°， 34.642°， 27.496°， 46.048°， 40.697° and 21.973°. In the FTIR profiles， 4 wavenumber ranges（399.193-403.050， 1 186.010-1 471.420， 1 801.190-2 620.790， 3 612.020-3 997.710 cm^-1） and 12 characteristic wavenumbers（1 428.994， 1 430.922， 1 432.851， 1 434.779， 1 436.708， 1 438.636， 1 440.565， 1 442.493， 1 444.422， 1 446.350， 1 448.279， 1 450.207 cm^-1） were identified. In the TG-DTA profiles， there were characteristic decomposition peaks of ammonium ion and mass reduction features near 555.34 ℃ for A. alum. These characteristics could serve as important criteria for distinguishing the authenticity of Alumen. ConclusionXRD， FTIR and TG-DTA can be used to rapidly detect Alumen and A. alum， and combined with the discriminant features selected through chemometrics， the rapid and accurate identification of Alumen and A. alum can be achieved. The research findings provide new approaches for the rapid identification of Alumen.

Objective: To design and establish a new method for flow cytometry-based detection of commonly observed highly expressed antigens on red blood cells, and to further evaluate the differences and distribution characteristics of antigen expression levels between ABO blood type homozygotes and heterozygotes in healthy individuals. Methods: Residual blood samples after donor blood type identification by Shanghai Blood Center in April 2024 were collected. Among them, samples of 19 homozygous and 19 heterozygous individuals of type A and type B were selected. Then the expression level of ABO antigen on red blood cells were detected using the new method established in this study and the traditional aldehyde fixed red blood cell method. Both methods were tested independently three times and the results were compared. Results: The mean values of the three detection results of the new method was (×10 /RBC): AA homozygous 3.3±0.5, AO heterozygous 2.8±0.3, BB homozygous 3.6±0.3, BO heterozygous 3.1±2.8. The mean values of the three detection results of the aldehyde fixation method were AA homozygous 5.9±0.9, AO heterozygous 5.0±1.4, BB homozygous 3.8±0.6, and BO heterozygous 3.3±0.4. The average antigen distribution of each genotype followed a normal distribution. Comparing the average antigen expression levels of homozygotes and heterozygotes, both methods showed that A/B homozygotes had higher antigen levels than heterozygotes, with AA being 1.17 to 1.18 times that of AO and BB being 1.15 to 1.16 times that of BO. Comparing the inter batch differences in the three test results of two methods, the new method showed no significant difference in the three test results for four genotypes (P>0.05). The aldehyde fixation method showed significant differences in the test results for all three genotypes (P<0.01) except for BB homozygotes (P>0.05). The reliability and reproducibility of the new method were better than those of the traditional aldehyde fixation method. Conclusion: The antigen expression level of ABO homozygotes is higher than that of heterozygotes, and the difference in antigen level between type A homozygotes and heterozygotes is slightly higher than that of type B. The new method is superior to traditional aldolization fixation methods.

Objective To evaluate the accuracy of dose-length product (DLP) values in CT dose reports by comparing them with the DLP values measured using a pencil-type ionization chamber. Methods Experiments were conducted using four CT scanners with different detector row numbers from two manufacturers (A and B), along with a head phantom and a pencil-type ionization chamber. Other scanning parameters were fixed, while pairwise combinations of kV and mAs were tested. The DLP values were measured under various scanning conditions using the pencil-type ionization chamber (DLP_measured) and the corresponding DLP values in CT dose reports were recorded (DLP_reported). All data were subjected to statistical analysis. Results Differences were observed between DLP_reported and DLP_measured values. The smallest mean absolute value of ΔDLP was approximately 2.526 mGy·cm observed on the 40-row CT scanner of manufacturer A. There was a difference between the ΔDLPs of the four CT scanners. Both DLP_reported and DLP_measured exhibited a linear relationship with mAs. Conclusion The percentage errors between DLP_reported and DLP_measured values for all four CT scanners were within the national standard tolerance of 15%. DLP values in CT dose reports can serve as a reference for assessing patient radiation dose during scanning. However, for radiation dose-related research, data measured using dosimetric instruments such as pencil-type ionization chamber are recommended.
