Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2007;0(07):-
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of microporous polysaccharide hemispheres(MPH)in control of homostasis on residual liver after hepatectomy. Methods: 60 patients undergoing hepatectomy were randomized to four groups standard group, test group Ⅰ,test group Ⅱ,and control group. Patients in standard group(15 patients)were treated with routine surgical technique to achieve homostasis. In test group Ⅰ(15 patients)the MPH combined with absorbable haemostat were used as hemostatic agents while only the MPH was used in test group Ⅱ(15 patients). The other 15 patients were given absorbable haemostat as control group. The hemostasia time, the amount of blood transfusion during operation and three days after operations were evaluated, the other factors (ALT, Alb, biliary, PT)were also evaluated. Results: In the standard group, hemostasia time was (2.98?1.05) min; the blood transfusion amount was (400?200) ml during operations and (400?200) ml three days after operations; the amount of drainage was (350?100) ml. In the test group Ⅰ, hemostasia time was (3.10?0.85) min; the blood transfusion amount was (200?0) ml during operations and (200?100) ml three days after operations; the amount of drainage was (200?100) ml. In the test group Ⅱ, hemostasia time was (3.20?1.52) min; the blood transfusion amount was (200?200) ml during operations and (200?0) ml three days after operations; the amount of drainage was (150?100) ml, and while in control group, the corresponding results were (5.22?1.82) min, (600?200) ml, (400?200) ml, (400?150) ml, respectively. Satisfactory bleeding control was achieved in 5 patients with routline surgical technique, there was no significant diffterence among them. The incidence of hemostasis in control group (33%)was significantly lower than that in standard group(80%) and all test groups(73.3%, 66.7%, respectively). No hemostatic complications were noted in either group. Conclusion: MPH provides rapid, effective and safe hemostasis after hepatectomy, which can be applied in hepatectomy.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(07):-
Objective To explore the roles of executive function deficits in adolescent violent behaviors. MethodsAccording to the findings of general state questionnaire, modified overt aggression scale and interview,93 male juvenile delinquents were randomly divided into violent antisocial group(n=47) and nonviolent antisocial group(n=46).Besides,50 male adolescents in vocational schools were served as normal controls. All the participants were subjected to Wechsler adult intelligence scale(WAIS) test,Wisconsin card sorting test(WCST),Stroop color-word test(CWT) and Tower of Hanoi(TOH) test. Results There was no significant difference in IQ between violent antisocial group and nonviolent antisocial group(P0.05).In CWT,violent antisocial group and nonviolent antisocial group had significant difference with normal control group in number of correct responses of Stroop interference effects(SIE)(P0.05).In TOH,the total time spent in violent antisocial group and nonviolent antisocial group was significantly longer than normal control group(P0.05). Conclusion There exists executive function deficits in male adolescents with unlawful acts, and violent behaviors may have a closer relationship with executive function deficits.
7.Enriched Environment and Stroke Rehabilitation (review)
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(1):47-52
Abstract: An enriched environment refers to conditions that facilitate sensory, cognitive, motor, and social stimulation. Behavioural, cellular and molecular studies have revealed significant effects of enriched environments on rodents and other species. Post-ischemic housing in an enriched environment improves functional outcome, modifies gene activation, induces alterations in the expression of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) and α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) receptor subunits, increases dendrite branching and number of dendritic spine in pyramidal neurons in layers II/III in the contra-lateral cortex, induces structural changes in synaptic junctions. Furthermore, it alters lesion-induced progenitor cell differentiation and interacts with necrotic grafting. The idea of environmental enrichment has been applied to clinical stroke rehabilitation and is getting more and more attention. This review will summarize experimental effects of enriched environment on post-ischemic rehabilitation and the clinical application of enriched environment in stroke rehabilitation.

BACKGROUND: Early clinical researches suggest that mediodespidine capsule can decrease blood pressure of patients with primary hypertension on the basis of yanggan qinggan pinggan technique.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of mediodespidine capsule on primary hypertension and angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang- Ⅱ ) of patients in the types of yin deficiency, yang excess and liver fire.DESIGN: Randomized controlled case observation.SETTING: Department of Cardiology, First Affiliated Hospital, Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.PARTICIPANTS: Patients were selected from the Inpatient Department and Out-patients Clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between April 1999 and April 2000. Inclusion criteria: Patients, who were diagnosed with the criteria of primary hypertension, who belonged to the types of yin deficiency, yang excess and liver fire, who could endure this test, who were coincidence with the criteria of mental-stress test, were all consent. Exclusion criteria: Patients who had severe congestive heart failure, atrophic arthritis and unable tolerance were excluded. There were 60 cases in total, including 29 males and 31females. All patients were divided into mediodespidine group and verapamil group with 30 in each group on the basis of randomly digital table.METHODS: Patients who had positive results of awaken mental-stress test were involved in this study. Cases in mediodespidine group were treated with mediodespidine capsule, which was made of tall gastrodia tuber, spine date seed and fourstamen stephania root at the dosage of 0.43 g/pill and were provided by the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (wei yao ji zi: 05-047, batch number: 990503), five pills each for 3 times a day. Cases in verapamil group were treatedwith verapamil (40 mg/pill, Shanghai Huanghe Liya PharmaceuticalCompany Limited, batch number: 980301B) 80 mg each for 3 times a day. The course in both groups was 4 weeks. ① Effect of blood pressure: Average value of blood pressure tested for 3 successive days were regarded as the blood pressure before treatment, and average value of blood pressure tested for 3 times after treatment was regarded as the blood pressure after treatment. ② Effect of symptom:Scores were recorded as four levels according to main symptoms, such as vertigo, headache, pain and weakness of waist and knees, before and after treatment. ③ Values of Ang- Ⅱ were measured with radioimmunoassay before and after cold pressor test. Effect on Ang- Ⅱ was evaluated with effect of decompression, effect of clinical symptom and criteria of clinical effect.MAIN OUTCOME MEARUSES: Clinical symptoms, values of blood pressure, heart rate and Ang- Ⅱ before and after cold pressor test.RESULTS: A total of 60 patients with primary hypertension were involved into the final analysis.① Totally effective rate of clinical symptoms of patients in mediodespidine group was higher than that of patients in verapamil group, but the effect of decompression was not significant between the two groups (P > 0.05). ② There was remarkably significant difference of heart rate in both groups before and after treatment (P < 0.01), especially the decrease in verapamil group was great, and there was significant difference (P < 0.05). ③ Values of systolic pressure and diastolic pressure were decreased in both groups after cold pressor test (P < 0.01), but there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). ④ There was no significant difference in clinical effect between the twogroups (P > 0.05).⑤ After treatment, concentration of Ang- Ⅱ at basic level in both groups was decreased, and there was significant difference between them (P < 0.01);concentration of Aug-Ⅱ was decreased in both groups after cold pressor test as compared with that before treatment, but there was no significant difference between them (P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Mediodespidine capsule can decrease blood pressure stably, and the effect is stronger than that of verapamil at the aspect of decompression and improving symptoms. Blood pressure of patients with primary hypertension in the types of yin deficiency and yang excess or liver fire can be decreased by decreasing the level of plasma Ang-Ⅱ to a certain degree.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2009;18(4):366-368
Objective The purpose of the present study was to examine the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the impulsive-premeditated aggression scale (IPAS) in a sample of Chinese adolescents with aggression. Methods 126 adolescents completed the IPAS,Barratt impulsive scale and self-report questionnaires. In order to assess test-retest reliability, the IPAS was re-administered to 30 participants 3 weeks later. Results Item analysis showed that IPAS had satisfactory item discrimination, 6 items were excluded in the later analysis. The internal consistency of the IPAS Cronbach alpha was 0.77 and the test-retest reliability was 0.74.Exploratory factor analysis demonstrated two stable factors of aggression with good internal consistency and construct validity, the value of KMO was 0.646, the χ2 value of Bartlett test was 691.93 ( P <0.001). The confirmatory factor analysis showed that the value of χ2/df,GFI,AGFI,RMSEA were 1.42,0.874,0.837 and 0.058 respectively. The whole scale and the two secondly scales all correlated with BIS-11 and MOAS.Conclusion The results of the current study indicate that the Chinese version of the IPAS is a useful tool to subtyping aggressive behavior among adolescents, but it still need to be modified to apply in China.
