1.Analysis of the nasal endoscope Television Co-line self-retalning laryngoscope vocal polyps surgery treatment

Objective To investigate the nasal endoscope Television Co-line self-retaining laryngoscope vo-cal polyps surgery treatment. Methods 121 cases diagnosed of vocal cord polyp (of which 54 cases of bilateral, u-nilateral 67 cases), in the serf-retaining laryngoscope and surveillance camera system of vocal cord polyp removed and opened Lacunar Reinke and will preoperative laryngoscopy and laryngoscopy after surgery and review the results of the video and retain. Results 4 weeks to review 70° nasal endoscope, and 116 cases of vocal sounds close to nor-mal, the cure rate reached 95.9 percent, and the remaining five cases because of vocal hypertrophy or incomplete closure of the vocal cords, sounds worse than normal shoots. Follow-up 3~18 months without recurrence, no serious complications. Conclusion The nasal endoscope and television surveillance camera system of amplification, in par-ticular, Reinke Lacunar throat image more clearly, so that lesions can be completely removed, and the vocal cords can be a very good organization had to protect, and by retaining the video can be pre-operative, during and after vo-cal dynamic comparative situation.
2.Evaluation of diopter after cataract surgery in high myopia combined cataract

To observe the diopter after cataract surgery for vision gain in high myopia and its effect on visual outcomes.METHODS: Sixty ( 120 eyes ) high myopia combined with cataract cases received phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in our hospital were retrospective studied. The patients were divided into three groups based on postoperative diopter: -1. 0 ~ -2. 0D (group A), -2. 25~-3. 0D (group B) and -3. 25 ~-4. 0D ( group C ) . The uncorrected distance visual acuity ( UCDVA) , best corrected distant visual acuity ( BCDVA) , uncorrected near visual acuity ( UCNVA ) and questionnaire of Activities of Daily Vision Scale ( ADVS ) were collected to assess the vision gain at 3mo after cataract surgery.RESULTS: At 3mo after surgery, UCDVA of group A was better than that of group B, and UCDVA of group B was better than that of group C. There were no differences in BCDVA among groups. There were significant differences between the three groups' UCNVA, it was best for the group C, followed by the group B, group A was the worst. For questionnaire, no difference was observed in patients' satisfactory for surgical results, but a significant difference was detected in postoperative glasses wearing frequency between groups.CONCLUSlON: For cataract surgery in high myopia combined cataract, postoperative diopter should be calculated based on patients' daily requirements. For patients had not used to wearing glasses and near distant working condition, it's appropriated to reserve a minor degree of myopia. Conversely, for patients require near distant working and received wearing moderate and low hyperopia mirror, higher degree of myopia can be reserved.
3.Effects of NVP-BEZ235 on proliferation and apoptosis with human cholangiocarcinoma QBC939 cell line in vitro

Objective To investigate the effects of NVP-BEZ235 on proliferation and apoptosis of human cholangiocarcinoma(CCA) cell QBC939 in vitro and to reveal the antineoplastic mechanisms of NVP-BEZ235.Methods Human CCA cell line QBC939 was used in this study.Cell apoptosis by NVP-BEZ235 was analyzed using the flow cytometry.Cell growth inhibition by NVP-BEZ235 for 24h 48h 72h by MTT assay.The antineoplastic mechanisms of NVP-BEZ235 for 48h were assessed by western blotting for PARP、Bcl-2、Akt、p-Akt、c-FLIPL and Mcl-1 assay in QBC939 cell.Results NVP-BEZ235 treatment inhibited the proliferation and induced apoptosis of human CCA cell QBC939,which appeared time-dependent and concentration-dependent effects.NVP-BEZ235 reduced protein levels of Mcl-1、c-FLIPL and Bcl-2 and downregulate protein level of p-Akt significantly.Conclusion NVP-BEZ235 inhibited the phosphorylation of Akt.NVP-BEZ235 downregulated Bcl-2、c-FLIPL、Mcl-1 protein level via PI3K/AKT signaling pathway to induce apoptosis and inhibit the proliferation of human CCA cell QBC939.
4.Therapeutic effect of Bushen Rougan Recipe on hepatic fibrosis in rats

OBJECTIVE: To study the therapeutic effect of Bushen Rougan Recipe (BSRGR) on hepatic fibrosis in rats. METHODS: Forty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group (n=10), model group (n=15), and BSRGR-treated group (n=15). Rats in the model and BSRGR-treated groups were administered intraperitoneally with 0.5% dimethylnitrosamine (DMN), 10 mg.kg(-1).d(-1), successive 3 days per week for 4 weeks to induce hepatic fibrosis. Then rats in the above 2 groups were given normal saline and BSRGR (10 ml.kg(-1).d(-1), ig) for another 4 weeks, respectively. Rats in the 3 groups were all executed at the end of the 8th week. The serum total bilirubin (TBIL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), albumin (A) and globulin (G) were determined and the serum hyaluronic acid (HA), laminin (LN) and collagen IV (IV-C) were measured. RESULTS: The rat model of liver fibrosis was successfully induced by DMN. It was found that the serum TBIL, AST and ALT and the liver fibrosis marks were declined in BSRGR-treated group as compared with those in the model group (P<0.01). The content of total serum protein and the A/G in BSRGR-treated group were both increased as compared with those in the model group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: BSRGR can be used to treat hepatic fibrosis in rats.
5.Expression of TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 mRNA in hepatic fibrosis rats and the therapeutic effects of Bushen Rougan Recipe

OBJECTIVE: To study the expression of TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 mRNA in hepatic fibrosis rats and the therapeutic effects of Bushen Rougan Recipe (BSRGR). METHODS: Hepatic fibrosis was induced in rats by dimethylnitrosamine (DMN). The rats' hepatic tissue was studied by HE staining and Sirius red staining. The rats were divided into normal control group, fibrosis model group and BSRGR treated group (10 g.kg(-1).d(-1), i.g. for 4 weeks). At last, TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. RESULTS: Pathological study showed that hepatic fibrosis was successfully induced by DMN in rats. The expression quantity of TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 mRNA were the most in the fibrosis model group, the second in the BSRGR treated group, and the least in the normal control group. CONCLUSION: The expression of TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 mRNA was increased in the hepatic fibrosis rats, and this is one possible mechanism of hepatic fibrosis. BSRGR can inhibit the advancement of hepatic fibrosis.
6.Establishment of animal model with gastric cold syndrome.

This study is to establish the gastric cold model of rats. After gastric feeding with cold water for 5 weeks and extra iced water bath in the last 2 weeks, model group show distinct physical sign of gastric cold syndrome. The pathology of gastrics reveals gastricism of model group, while treatment group(treated with Fanzuojin Wan) show mild lesion. Elisa detection of model group show that the solution of interleukin-2 (IL-2) is higher than blank group. The difference with significance among model group, treatment group and blank group reveals the success of the establishment of gastric cold syndrome.

Elisa detection of model group show that the solution of interleukin-2 (IL-2) is higher than the blank group. The obvious difference among model group, treatment group and blank group reveals the success of the establishment of gastric hot model.

8.Atlantoaxial pedicle screw system for odontoid fracture-caused atlantoaxial instability in 21 cases

BACKGROUND: Posterior transarticular screw fixation (Magerl’s) is recommended for atlantoaxial instability. However,some patients do not suit for Magerl’s fixation. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical outcomes of atlantoaxial pedicle screw system in the treatment of atlantoaxial instability from odontoid fracture. DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: The retrospective case analysis was performed at the Department of Orthopedics,Sichuan People’s Hospital between July 2004 and June 2007. PARTICIPANTS: Twenty-one cases of atlantoaxial instability from odontoid fracture were selected. According to Anderson and D’Alonzo classification,9 of them belonged to type II odontoid fracture with atlantoaxial instability and 12 to type Ⅲ with severe atlantoaxial dislocation. All cases suffered pain at occipitocervical part and limited activities of cervical spine. According to Frankel classification in function of spinal cord,16 cases of them belonged to Grade E and 5 cases to D. METHODS: All cases were fixed with C1 and C2 pedicle screws system following skull traction and reduction. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Biocompatibility between materials and host; bone graft fusion and functional improvement. RESULTS: No vertebral artery injury or spinal injury was found during operation,neither incision infection was. All cases were followed up for at least 8 months. Postoperative radiograph and CT detection revealed good positions of all screws with no loosening or breakage. All fractures healed within 5 months,and activities of cervical vertebra were not obviously limited except slightly limited rotation function. As for nerve function,5 cases of Grade D recovered up to Grade E. CONCLUSION: Posterior pedicle screw fixation system exhibits no specific biocompatibility responses. It greatly improves atlantoaxial stability and promotes functional recovery of spinal cord but has little influence on cervical function.
9.Clinical Efficacy of Cefoperazone/sulbactam for Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical efficacy of cefoperazone/sulbactam(Sulperazon) for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).METHODS A total of 136 cases of AECOPD were randomized into cefoperazone/sulbactam group and ceftazidime group,and sputum culture of each case was underwent before and after treatment.RESULTS The total efficacy rates and bacterial clearance rates in cefoperazone/sulbactam group and ceftazidime group were 91.18%,96.67% and 70.59%,75.86%,respectively,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant.CONCLUSIONS It suggested that cefoperazone/sulbactam be a more effective drug for AECOPD.
10.Piperacillin/tazobactam Treatment for Severe Community-acquired Pneumonia among Elderly

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical efficacy of piperacillin/tazobactam for severe community acquired pneumonia(CAP) among elderly.METHODS Seventy-six elderly cases of severe CAP were randomized into piperacillin/tazobactam group and ceftriazone group,and the sputum culture was underwent for each case before and after treatment.RESULTS The total efficacy rates and bacterial clearance rates in piperacillin/tazobactam group and ceftriazone group were 92.11% and 88.89%,and 73.68% and 58.82%,respectively,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant.CONCLUSIONS It suggestes that piperacillin/tazobactam be a more effective drug for severe CAP among elderly in old age.
