OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for the determination of EPA and DHA in ray oil.METHODS:The determination was carried out on Diamonsil C18 column.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water(95 :5) with flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1 and detection wavelength set at 220 nm.The column temperature was set at 25 ℃.RESULTS:The linear ranges were 1～4 ?g for EPA(r=0.999 1) and 2～8 ?g for DHA(r=0.999 4).The average recoveries were 99.23% for EPA(RSD=0.49%) and 99.30% for DHA(RSD=0.27%).CONCLUSION:The method is simple,rapid,accurate and reproducible for the detection of EPA and DHA in ray oil.

Objective To evaluate the value of color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI) in diagnosis of choroidal melanoma.Methods A comparative analysis was carried retrospectively on sonograms,pathological and clinical data of 13 choroidal melanoma cases,confirmed by pathology and operation.Results The pre-operative diagnosing rate of choroidal malignant melanoma by CDFI in the study was 100%.The sonogram features were divided into three types: hemispherical type,mushroom type and diffusive type.Conclusions Characters of blood flow signal of intraocular occupying lesions were valuable to distinguish choroidal malignant melanoma from other diseases.

BACKGROUND: Long-term utilization of steroid hormone easily induces avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH). Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum possesses bone growth factor and can promote wound healing and tissue repairing, which may has effect on treatment of ANFH. OBJECTIVE: To investigate therapeutic effect of antler powder on ANFH induced by corticosteroids in rats. METHODS: Totally 42 male wistar rats were randomly divided into the blank control, model and high-, moderate- and low-dose treatment groups. Exception those in the blank control group, all rats were intragluteally injected with dexamethasone at 30 mg/kg twice per week for 6 weeks to induce ANFH. Then the rats were treated with antler powder by oral gavage at 200, 400 and 800 mg/kg dosage, once per day for 60 days. Same volume of physiological saline was gavaged in the blank control and model groups. Serum lipid level and bone mineral density (BMD) of femur were measured, pathological change and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were investigated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Steroid hormone intervention resulted in obviously ANFH in rats. After treatment with antler powder, the degree of necrosis was significant reduced. Compared with the model group, BMD were increased, total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, and low density lipoprotein levels were decreased, and the VEGF expression increased in the treatment groups. The results suggest that antler powder has a positive curative effect on ANFH by promoting bone formation, fat metabolism and increasing VEGF expression.

Objective:To compare the antihypertensive effects of tuina at Taichong (LR 3),Neiguan (PC 6) and Qiaogong (Extra) to screen the best tuina protocol for primary hypertension due to liver-fire flaming-up.Methods:A total of 102 patients with primary hypertension due to liver-fire flaming-up were randomly divided into a Taichong (LR 3) group,a Neiguan (PC 6) group and a Qiaogong (Extra) group according to the random number table,with 34 cases in each group.Patients in the three groups received 4-week tuina treatment with the corresponding acupoint respectively.The blood pressure was recorded by benchtop mercury sphygmomanometer before tuina,immediately after tuina treatment,30 min and 60 min after tuina treatment with the patient in a supine position in a quiet treatment room.The total effective rate was observed.Results:The systolic and diastolic blood pressures of the three groups all decreased after treatment (all P＜0.05).The decrease of systolic and diastolic blood pressure at different time points after treatment in the Qiaogong (Extra) group and the Taichong (LR 3) group were better than those in the Neiguan (PC 6) group (all P＜0.05).Qiaogong (Extra) group had the highest total effective rate though there was no statistical difference in the total effective rate among the three groups (P＞0.05).Conclusion:Treating primary hypertension due to liver-fire flaming-up with tuina at Taichong (LR 3),Neiguan (PC 6) and Qiaogong (Extra) can reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure respectively,among which Qiaogong (Extra) has the highest total effective rate.

Objective To compare the outcomes between radiofrequency modification and augmentation reconstruction in the treatment for partial anterior cruciate ligament( ACL) tears. Methods Fifty?four patients with partial ACL tears were divided into radiofrequency modification group( n=16) and augmentation reconstruc?tion group( n=38) according to different treatment methods. Minimum follow?up was 2 years. Patients were eval?uated just after the injury and at the latest follow?up with several parameters, including the international knee documentation committee( IKDC) score,Lysholm knee score,Tegner activity rating,range of motion ( ROM) and the kneelax arthrometer. Objective To study the feasibility and safety of the diagnostic coronary angiography by transradial approach with modified 5 F universial catheter.Methods Retrospective analysis was performed in 268 randomly chosen patients undergoing diagnostic coronary angiography by transradial approach,either with 5 F universial catheter(universial group,n=133) or 5 F modified universial catheter(modified group,n=135).The success rate and the duration of operation and fluoroscopy,the rate of error entry into branch vessel between the 2 groups were compared.Results The success rate for angiography was 87.2%(116/133) in the universal group and 97.0%(131/135) in the improved group(P
