Microbiology 2008;0(07):-
Carbon-nitrogen lyases (E.C.4.3) are a group of enzymes that release ammonia, amidine or amino group etc, and also show ability to form double bond or ring structure. Specifically, enzymes forming amino group are called amine-lyases (E.C.4.3.3), which are critical in the industrial production of many medicine intermediates. In this review is a summary of four major amine-lyases in terms of their source, enzymatic characteristics and their applications in preparation of pharmaceutical intermediates.

Objective To investigate the macular vascular density after successful repair of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) for one year using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA),and discuss the correlation between the macular vascular density and visual acuity. Methods Totally 42 patients of the RRD (42 eyes),their contralateral eyes (A group) and 42 patients of the normal eyes (B group) were recruited into this study. All participants underwent examination with best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and OCTA.The difference in macular vascular density was compared and the correlation between BCVA and the vascular density was analyzed. Results The macular vascular density of superficial layer, deep layer and choroidal capillary layer was 0.422 4 ±0.089 3,0.4836 ±0.0748,0.527 1 ±0.039 0 in RRD group,respectively,0.469 3 ±0.112 5,0.550 0 ±0.074 0,0.546 2 ±0.034 3 in A group,respectively,0.5619 ±0.053 7,0.611 2 ±0.035 2,0.562 6 ±0.030 4 in B group, respectively. The macular vascular density was significantly decreased in RRD group when compared with A and B groups (all P < 0.05).There was a positive correlation between BCVA and the macular vascular density in the deep layer and choroidal capillaries layer (r =0.629,0.654,both P =0.000).However,there's no correlation between the macular vascular density of superficial layer and BCVA (P =0.103).Conclusion All the macular vascular densities are decreased in patients of RRD after successful repair of retinal detachment one year later, which indicated that the blood flow does not completely recover. And there is a positive correlation between BCVA and macular vascular densities in deep layer and choroidal capillaries layer. And meanwhile,OCTA can objectively and effectively quantify the status of macular region blood flow.

OBJECTIVETo estimate the number of drug users in Hongjiang, Hunan and to develop strategy for drug reduction in the future.
METHODSTwo capture-recapture methods were used to estimate the numbers of drug addicts. Random stratified sampling survey was used to verify the optimum allocation. The first capture-recapture method (CR1) referred to the number from optimum allocation random stratified sampling survey conducted in the communities and the number from local Public Security Bureau list being the second capture. The second capture-recapture method (CR2) referred to the collection of records in the detoxification unit with an interval of 4 months. The estimated number was calculated under Seber's adjustment formula. Face to face interview was carried out during the optimum allocation random stratified sampling survey process.
RESULTSOf 1388 interviewed in the communities, 24 (1.73%) were identified as drug addicts under the optimum allocation random stratified sampling survey. When the figure 1.73% was applied to the total population (72,709) in Hongjiang, the result yielded an estimation of 1258 drug addicts. The estimated numbers of CR1 and CR2 were 904 and 1069 respectively. However, the number was 1.3 to 1.6 fold higher than the reported number (687) by local Public Security Bureau.
CONCLUSIONThe capture-recapture method seemed a better method in estimating the number of drug addicts.

OBJECTIVETo explore miRNA expression change of differentiation of mice marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into adipocytes, which lay the foundation for further studies on molecular mechanism of miRNA regulating the differentiation of MSCs into adipocytes.
METHODSC57BL/6 mice MSCs were isolated, cultured through the whole bone marrow method, amplified by the differential adherent method. Cell growth was observed by morphology and the expression of superficial antigen CD29, CD44, CD34 were detected through immunohistochemistry. MSCs was induced to differentiation into adipocytes with adipocyte differentiation medium, and adipogenic differentiation of MSCs was analyzed by oil Red O staining. MicroRNA microarray was used to investigate the differentially expressed miRNAs in MSCs and adipocytes.
RESULTS(1) The fifth passage of MSCs had high purity under an inverted m icroscope. Immunohistochemistry staining showed that CD29, CD44 were positive and CD34 was negative in more than 90% MSCs. There were a large number of lipid droplets in cytoplasm after MSCs were induced with adipocyte differentiation medium, Oil O staining was positive. (2) The microarray experiment showed that 75 differentially expressed miRNAs were obtained in adipocytes compared with MSCs, 20 up-regulated and 55 down-regulated miRNAs were observed among them.
CONCLUSIONThere was a expression change of miRNA of differentiation of MSCs into adipocytes, some miRNAs might play important roles in MSCs adipogenic differentiation.

BACKGROUND: The X-ray 9-point grading system is established based on cervical disc degeneration and its suitability for evaluation of lumbar disc degeneration has not been validated. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility of the evaluation of lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration using the 9-point grading system with X-ray, and to explore its clinical application value. METHODS: The correlation between 9-point grading system and Pfirrmann system was statistically analyzed. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and X-ray images of 172 cases with lumbar disc degeneration or simple lumbago, who were treated in the Shanghai Changzheng Hospital from June 2013 to June 2016, were retrospectively analyzed. The MRI scores of lumbar disc degeneration were evaluated according to Pfirrmann standard, and the X-ray scores were evaluated according to 9-point grading system. The two groups of scores were respectively analyzed by the correlation and regression tests via Spearman rank sum test with SPSS software. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) MRI scores (the independent variable X): 2 cases scored 1; 8 cases scored 2; 55 cases scored 3; 84 cases scored 4; 23 cases scored 5. X-ray scores (the dependent variable Y): 2 cases scored 0; 6 cases scored 1; 21 cases scored 2; 43 cases scored 3; 40 cases scored 4; 26 cases scored 5; 16 cases scored 6; 8 cases scored 7; 7 cases scored 8; 3 cases scored 9. (2) The Spearman correlation test showed that significant positive correlation was found between Pfirrmann system and 9-point grading system (P <0.01). Significance test of correlation coefficient proved that there was significant linear correlation between Pfirrmann system and 9-point grading system. Further regression analysis showed the linear regression between Pfirrmann system and 9-point grading system. (3) These findings suggested that Pfirrmann system and X-ray 9-point grading system had a good consistency in evaluating lumbar disc degeneration. As a scientific, fast and effective evaluation method, the X-ray 9-point grading system has a certain reference value in the diagnoses of lumbar degenerative diseases.

Exosome is a kind of nanoscale-size extracellular vesicles secreted by the means of cell active stimulation with outer membrane structure of vacuoles corpuscle. It can carry and transfer a lot of biological molecules, such as DNA fragments, circular RNA (circRNA), messenger RNA (mRNA), microRNA (miRNA), functional proteins, transcription factors, etc., so as to achieve the goal of information transmission between cells. The relationship between exosomes and diabetes has received extensive attention in recent years. The exosomes play an important role in insulin sensitivity, glucose homeostasis and vascular endothelial function. This paper reviews the role of exosomes in the occurrence and development of diabetes and its complications, and discusses the role and prospect of exosomes as a target for diabetes treatment and its role in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.
