1.Nutritional strategies for premature infants
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2015;30(2):81-84
As survival of premature infants has increased, nutritional support has become a more prominent component of patient care.Aggressive nutritional strategies can reduce the incidence of extrauterine growth retardation (EUGR),speed up the physical growth and promote the development of intelligence. But excessive weight gain may also increase the risk of obesity and cardiovascular diseases in the future. This review mainly introduces and interprets the enteral nutrient supply for preterm infants:commentary from the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN),2010,to provide an evidence-based medicine nutritional guideline for preterm infants.
2.Dynamic Variation of Cardiac Function in Early Term Infants
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(11):-
Objective To investigate the variational regularity of cardiac function in the early term infants. Methods Dynamic change of cardiac function was monitored by color Doppler echocardiography from the 1st day to 7th day after birth in the term infants, the indexes including blood-pumping function and flow rate of all valve orifices. Results Left ventricular ejection fraction appeared to be no difference during the first 3 days after birth.it gradually increased on the 5th and 1st days, while it was obviously higher on the 6th and 7th days than that of the first 3 days(P0.05).Conclusions Blood-pumping function of left ventricle gradually increases with days in the 1st week after birth.it attains to the maximum on the 6th and 7th days. The AV and PV gradually increase in the 1st week, too.Diastolic function of right ventricle is mature step by step.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(02):-
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) model was made in SD rats by coronary ligation, the effects of naloxone (Nal) on the baroreflex sensitivity (BRS) were evaluated by administrated Nal intravenously (iv) and in-tracisternally (ic) before and after 1 h of AMI.Results showed that both pre and post AMI can Nal potentiate the BRS whether iv or ic. These results indicate that Nal may reverse the blunted BRS after AMI.

BACKGROUND: Non-adherent mesenchymal stem cells (NA-MSCs) can form colony forming unit of fibroblasts and induce the differentiation into adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes. OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of epithelial growth factor (EGF) on colony formation of fibroblasts and differentiation into neuron-like cells from NA-MSCs.METHODS: Bilateral femur and tibia as well as total MSCs were separated, and repeated-transfer was employed to purify NA-MSCs. The fifth-passage total MSCs and NA-BMCs were induced in a medium containing EGF and basic fibroblast growth factor (b-FGF) for 2 weeks. Colony unit formation of fibroblasts, effect of EGF on colony-forming unit of fibroblasts, and relative protein expression detected by toluidine blue and immunocytochemical staining were observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Both total MSCs and NA-BMC could generate colony-forming unit of fibroblasts. After treatment of EGF, colony-forming unit of fibroblasts from NA-BMC was increased significantly. Immunocytochemical staining demonstrated that two weeks later both neuro-specific NeuN and NF-200 were observed in total MSCs and NA-BMC; while, toluidine blue staining indicated that neuron-specific Nissl body was observed in some cells. EGF can effectively promote colony-forming unit of fibroblast from NA-BMC, and repeated-transfer NA-BMC can induce differentiation into neuron-like cells.

BACKGROUND: Non-adherent mesenchymal stem cells (NA-MSCs) can form colony forming unit of fibroblasts and induce the differentiation into adipocytes, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes.OBJECTIVE: To determine whether non-adherent mesenchymal stem cells (NA-MSCs) in adult mouse bone marrow could differentiate into neuron-like cells in cerebral ischemic region.METHODS: Bilateral femur and tibia of β-Gal transgenic mice was separated, and repeated-transfer was used to collect the fifth-passage purified NA-MSCs which were adjusted at concentration of 1×10~(12)/L Middle cerebral artery occlusion was established in the two groups. After 7 days, 3 μL fifth-passaged NA-MSCs suspension was injected into cerebral ischemic region in the transplantation group, while an equal amount of saline was injected into model group. Survival, distribution, and differentiation of donor cells in cerebral ischemic region were observed at 8 weeks after transplantation.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: LacZ staining showed that donor cells could express β-Gal protein after 8 weeks and survived in the ischemic region. Simple and double immunohistochemical staining indicated that β-Gal-positive donor cells were detected in necrotic region and at necrotic edge of ischemic model. Additionally, partial cells could express neuro-specific NeuN protein and glial cell-specific GFAP. NA-MSCs are able to survive and migrate in cerebral ischemic region; moreover, partial NA-MSCs can differentiate into mature neuron-like cells or glial cells which participate in repairing brain injury.

International Journal of Surgery 2010;37(8):534-537
Liver resection is the most efficiency measure to treat the liver cancer at present. About 80% patients with liver cancer encounter inordinately hepatocirrhosis. The regeneration of liver tissue in the patients with hepatocirrhosis is poor, liver functional reserve reduces, those patients with liver cancer combined with hepotocirrhosis will face greater risks when they receive hepatoectomy. Liver failure is the leading cause of death after hepatic resection. So we must attach importance to the assessment of liver functional reserve before operation. Here this article mostly summarizes the comprehensive assessment of hepatic functional reserve before operation in liver cancer patients.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2015;47(6):933-938
Objective:To investigate the female vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus biofilm by using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM),thus revealing the formation of biofilm. Methods:The cover slide biofilm culture approach in vitro was employed for induction of the vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus biofilm formation. Following the culture for 2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 48, 72, 96 and 120 hours, the cover slide was removed for subsequent staining with the fluoresce in isothiocyanate-conjugated concanavalin A ( FITC-ConA) and propidium ( PI) . This was followed by determination of the formation and characteris-tics of the vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus biofilm by using CLSM. Results:The CLSM images of biofilm formation at different time points were captured, suggesting that the vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus adhe-sion occurred at h 4, which was in reversible attachment, then more and more Lactobacillus crispatus ag-gregated at h 8 to h 20, which was in irreversible attachment. Lactobacillus crispatus clustered at h 20, with early development of biofilm architecture. Then the biofilm with extracellular matrix around the bacte-ria was set up at h 24,with gradual matureation at h 24 to h 48. The biofilm dispersed at h 72. The bio-film density of cultivating for 20 hours was 42 . 7 × 10 -3 ± 6 . 8 × 10 -3 , and for 24 hours increased to 102. 5 × 10 -3 ± 23. 1 × 10 -3 , suggesting a significant difference, P<0. 05. This meant that mature bio-film was formed at h 24 . Conclusion:The vaginal Lactobacillus crispatus is able to form typical biofilm with distinct developmental phases and architecture characteristics. Mature biofilm is formed at h 24 to h 48, then the biofilm begins to disperse.
