Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2009;48(10):846-849
Objective To study clinical characteristics and diagnostic methods of lymphoma with chest invovement. Methods Twenty-five lymphoma patients with chest involvement were retrospectively analysed, they were all diagnosed in Peking University Third Hospital during 2000 to 2007. The data were collected including clinical manifestations, blood examinations, chest X-ray and CT scan, diagnostic methods and pathologic diagnosis. Results The median age of the 25 patients was 46 years old. Pyrexia(13 cases), weight loss over 10 percent in 6 months(11 cases), cough(10 cases), shortness of breath(9 cases) and painless enlargement of the peripheral lymph nodes(16 cases) were common manifestations. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and serum lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) level were increased in 72.7% and 81% patients, respectively. The enlargement of mediastinum lymph nodes(16 cases, 64%) was the most common presentation of chest radiography, followed by pulmonary involvement(15 cases, 60%) including infiltration or pulmonary consolidation, mass, multiple nodules, diffuse ground-glass shadow, miliary lesion. There were also presentations of pleural effusion(10 cases, 40%), pericardial effusion(4 cases, 16%), chest wall mass(2 cases, 8%). Eighteen patients(72%) had at least two kinds of these presentations. The appearance of pleural effusion were yellow turbid, bloody or chyliform. Rivaha tests were all positive. The median value of plearal effusion examinations were listed as follows: specific gravity 1.031, total cells 9800×10~6/L, WBC 6.72×10~9/L, lymphocyte 86%, neutrophil 14%, protein 31.4 g/L, LDH 296 U/L,adenosine deaminase (ADA) 67.4 U/L Most patients(16 cases) were diagnosed by surgical biopsy, especialy peripheral lymph nodes biopsy (12 cases). Other patients were diagnosed by ultrasound or CT-guided biopsy (5 cases), video-assisted thoracoscopic pleural biopsy (1 case), video-mediastinoscopic mediastinum lesion biopsy(1 case), bronchial mucosa biopsy through bronchoscope(1 case), bone marrow examination(1 case). All the cases were non-Hodgkin lymphoma except one. Conclusions There was no specific clinical manifestation for lymphoma with chest involvement, but in almost half of patients there were enlargement of not only peripheral but also mediastinum lymph nodes. And there were some characteristics in serum, pleural effusion, chest X-ray and CT scan. Surgical biopsy of peripheral lymph nodes was a simple and convenient method for diagnosis. Micro-invasive biopsy had good diagnostic value for lymphoma with chest involvement, including ultrasound-or CT-guided biopsy for superficial mass, pleura, lung, liver, spleen and deep lymph nodes, video-assisted thoracoseopic and video-mediastinoscopic biopsy for pleura, lung and mediastinum lesions. But bronchial mueosa and lung biopsy during bronchoscopy had a low diagnostic rate for lymphoma.

5.Analysis of Correlation Factors of Locally Recurrent Gastric Carcinoma.
Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(02):-
Objective To discuss the correlation factors of locally recurrent gastric carcinoma. Methods Clinical, pathological and periodical follow-up datas of 50 cases with locally recurrent gastric carcinoma after radical resection from 1991 to 2005 were studied retrospectively, logistic regression analysis was used to disscuse the possible correlation factors of locally recurrent gastric carcinoma. Results 66.0% of 50 cases had recurrenced within 2 years after operations; Tumor pathological stages, positive lymph nodes and radical resection extent were independent correlation factors of locally recurrent gastric carcinoma. Conclusions Most recurrences would happen within 2 years after radical resection for gastric carcinoma; Early diagnosis of reccurrent gastric carcinoma depends on periodic follow-up observation especially gastroscope; Tumor pathological stages, positive lymph nodes and radical resection extent are independent correlation factors of locally recurrent gastric carcinoma.

To use Agrobacterium rhizogenes-induced hairy roots to create new germplasm of Dianthus caryophyllus, we transformed D. caryophyllus with A. rhizogenes by leaf disc for plant regeneration from hairy roots. The white hairy roots could be induced from the basal surface of leaf explants of D. caryophyllus 12 days after inoculation with A. rhizogenes ATCC15834. The percentage of the rooting leaf explants was about 90% 21 days after inoculation. The hairy roots could grow rapidly and autonomously in liquid or solid phytohormone-free MS medium. The transformation was confirmed by PCR amplification of rol gene of Ri plasmid and silica gel thin-layer chromatography of opines from D. caryophyllus hairy roots. Hairy roots could form light green callus after cultured on MS+6-BA 1.0-3.0 mg/L + NAA 0.1-0.2 mg/L for 15 days. The optimum medium for adventitious shoots formation was MS + 6-BA 2.0 mg/L + NAA 0.02 mg/L, where the rate of adventitious shoot induction was 100% after cultured for 6 weeks. The mean number of adventitious shoot per callus was 30-40. The adventitious shoots can form roots when cultured on phytohormone-free 1/2 MS or 1/2 MS +0.5 mg/L NAA for 10 days. When the rooted plantlets transplanted in the substrate mixed with perlite sand and peat (volume ratio of 1:2), the survival rate was above 95%.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2013;(12):1121-1124
Objective To evaluate and monitor the efifcacy of GnRH analogs (GnRHa) therapy. Methods Thirty girls with central precocious puberty diagnosied by LHRH stimulation test were treated with GnRHa for 6-24 months. The LHRH stimula-tion test were performed again at 3 months after initiation of therapy and then every 6 months during treatment. The relationship of peark LH and clinical suppressing pubertal (including Turner stage, bone age, grwoth speed) were compared. The monitor effect of peak LH to efifcacy of GnRHa were eveluated. Results Ninety LHRH stimulation tests were performed, only 7 cases were found to have clinical pubertal development. After 6 months treatment, the base LH level of thirty girls (0.48±0.20) IU/L was signiifcantly lower than that before the treatment (0.75±0.35 IU/L) (P=0.000). The correlation coefifcient between base LH and peak LH was 0.62. The best correlation between clinical suppressing pubertal and LHRH stimulation test was achieved when peak LH was less than 2 IU/L (85.7%sensitivity, 100%speciifcity). Conclusions Base LH value can be used in preliminary as-sessment of the efifcacy of GnRHa therapy for girls with central precocious puberty. The peak LH less than 2 IU/L can be as the indicator of treatment efifcacy.
