Gastric cancer is a high-risk tumor in China, with high malignant degree, high mortality and poor prognosis.Hematological indexes are preoperative routine examination with low prices.Hematological indexes (such as tumor markers, inflammation index, etc) can be used to overall evaluate tumor size, depth of invasion, lymph node metastasis and recurrence of gastric cancer patients, which are helpful for us to better understand the surgical risks, and take preventive measures and improve the survival rate.

Objective:To observe the influence of sevoflurane pretreatment in the lung function of the infants during heart operation by cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB), and to explore its lung protection and possible mechanism. Methods:Sixty infants with ventricular septal defect were enrolled at age less than 1 year old and randomly assigned to pretreatment group and control group (n=30).After the induction of general anesthesia and tracheal intubation, the patients in pretreatment group received continuous inhalation of 1.0 MAC sevoflurane until the beginning of CPB.Inhale sevoflurane was absent in control group. The duration of ventilator support of the infants in two groups was recorded. The Pplate,CL,OI,A-aDO2 ,RI,the number of leukocytes and neutrophils segregated in lung of the patients were compared between two groups at the four time points T0 (before aorta clamping),T1 (30 min after aorta declamping),T2,and T3 (2 h and 6 h after CPB).Results:Compared with control group, the duration of ventilator support of the infants in pretreatment group was obviously shortened (P <0.05).In each group, the CL and OI were significantly decreased (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01),while the Pplate, A-aDO2 ,RI,the number of leukocyte and neutrophils segregated in lung were significantly increased (P <0.05 or P <0.01)at T1,T2,T3 time points compared with T0 time point. The CL and OI in pretreatment group were significantly increased (P <0.05 or P <0.01);the Pplate,A-aDO2,RI,the number of leukocytes and neutrophils segregated in lung in pretreatment group were significantly decreased at T1,T2,and T3 (P <0.05 or P <0.01) compared with control group. Conclusion:Sevoflurane pretreatment might play a role in decreasing the leukocyte adhesion and protecting the lung function in the infants during opening heart operation by CPB.

Objective To investigate the relationship between second-hand smoke exposure and lung cancer death trend in Huizhou area. Methods The corresponding records of lung cancer in the tumor registration system in Huizhou area from January 2019 to December 2019 were collected to investigate the subjects' second-hand smoke exposure. Linear regression model was used to analyze the correlation between the mortality of lung cancer patients and the second-hand smoke exposure rate. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the correlation between second-hand smoke exposure and death of lung cancer patients. Results In 2019, the mortality rate of lung cancer patients in Huizhou was the highest in the third quarter, and the second-hand smoke exposure rate of lung cancer patients was also the highest in the third quarter. The mortality rate of lung cancer patients in Huizhou was significantly positively correlated with the second-hand smoke exposure rate (r2 = 0.985 9, P<0.05). The second-hand smoke exposure rate, second-hand smoke exposure concentration, and the extent of second-hand smoke environmental enclosure of dead cancer patients were significantly higher than those of lung cancer patients in the survival group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The second-hand smoke exposure, second-hand smoke concentration and the extent of the enclosure of second-hand smoke environment were independent risk factors influencing the death of lung cancer patients (P<0.05). Conclusion The trend of lung cancer deaths in Huizhou in 2019 was consistent with the prevalence of second-hand smoke exposure. The second-hand smoke exposure is an important factor for lung cancer deaths.

Depression is a mental disorder characterized by persistent low mood and belongs to the category of "stagnation syndrome" in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with the characteristics of high prevalence, high disability rate, high suicide rate, and high recurrence rate. The pathogenesis of depression is extremely complex and involves factors such as genetics, psychology, and social environment. Currently, clinical antidepressant drugs such as tricyclic and tetracyclic antidepressants, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, have slow onset of action and significant adverse effects with long-term application. Furthermore, clinical statistics show that about one-third of patients do not respond to these types of medications. Enhancing the effectiveness of depression treatment has become a major challenge in the medical field. TCM, based on the holistic view and treatment based on syndrome differentiation, has unique advantages in the prevention and treatment of depression, including stable therapeutic effects, low recurrence rate, minimal side effects, and good patient compliance. As one of the heat-clearing drugs, Gardeniae Fructus has the effects of clearing heat, purging fire, cooling blood, and relieving restlessness, which makes it effective in treating patients with "stagnation syndrome". Literature studies have found that active components of Gardeniae Fructus, such as geniposide, genipin, and crocin, as well as drug pairs such as Gardeniae Fructus-Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Gardeniae Fructus-Acanthopanacis Senticosi Radix et Rhizoma Seu Caulis, and Gardeniae Fructus-Lycii Fructus, and prescriptions such as Zhizichi Tang, Yuejuwan, Zhizi Houpotang, Danzhi Xiaoyaosan, and Jieyu Anshen Granules, have shown significant antidepressant effects. The mechanism of action may be related to regulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, modulating neurotransmitters such as serotonin (5-HT) and dopamine (DA), increasing brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the hippocampus, enhancing neurogenesis in the hippocampus, and regulating the nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) signaling pathway to inhibit neuroinflammation. This article summarized the research progress on the active components of Gardeniae Fructus, drug pairs, and Chinse medicinal prescriptions containing Gardeniae Fructus, providing references for further promoting the clinical application of Gardeniae Fructus and its prescriptions in the treatment of depression.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has continued to spread globally since late 2019, representing a formidable challenge to the world's healthcare systems, wreaking havoc, and spreading rapidly through human contact. With fever, fatigue, and a persistent dry cough being the hallmark symptoms, this disease threatened to destabilize the delicate balance of our global community. Rapid and accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 is a prerequisite for understanding the number of confirmed cases in the world or a region, and an important factor in epidemic assessment and the development of control measures. It also plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the appropriate medical treatment, leading to optimal patient care. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology is currently the most mature method for detecting viral nucleic acids, but it has many drawbacks. Meanwhile, a variety of COVID-19 detection methods, including molecular biological diagnostic, immunodiagnostic, imaging, and artificial intelligence methods have been developed and applied in clinical practice to meet diverse scenarios and needs. These methods can help clinicians diagnose and treat COVID-19 patients. This review describes the variety of such methods used in China, providing an important reference in the field of the clinical diagnosis of COVID-19.
