Objective Observing the effect of Shuganyishen formula on hormone-dependant metastatic breast cancer and the mechanisms of anti-resistance and endocrine therapy. Methods 226 ITT cases were divided into two cohorts by treatment. 126 cases were treated with the combination of Shuganyishen formula and standard western medicine including endocrine therapy, and 100 cases were treated with western medicine alone. The end points were time to progress (TTP) and overall survival and quality of life (QOF). The effect of Shuganyishen formula on growth of TAM-resistance cell line in vitro was observed. Results There were statistical significances of median TTP between combination and western medicine in Luminal A (ER+ /PR+, HER2-) as well as Luminal B (ER+/PR+, HER2+), but no significances of OS; The extent and incidence of hot flush, sweat and syndromes related to bone were decreased significantly in combination treated group. Shuganyishen formula could reverse resistance to TAM. Conclusion Patients with LuminalA and LuminalB metastatic breast cancer benefit from Shuganyishen formula, which maybe related with its reverse resistance to endocrine therapy.

BACKGROUNDIt has been known that there are declines of dendritic cell (DC) count and its function in the peripheral blood of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which are remarkably related to the proceeding and prognosis of NSCIC. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship and clinical significance between the DC subsets (CD11c+DC and CD123+DC) and immunology state of patients with advanced NSCLC.
METHODSFlow cytometry was used to detect DC subsets, T cell subsets, NK cell percentage in the peripheral blood of 40 patients with advanced NSCLC and 10 healthy controls.
RESULTSThe expression of CD11c+DC (0.38%±0.18%) in the peripheral blood of advanced NSCLC patients, was decreased significantly compared with that of normal controls (0.66%±0.24%) (P < 0.01). The expression of CD123+DC in the peripheral blood of advanced NSCLC patients was (0.28±0.17)%, with no significant difference compared with that of normal controls (0.27%±0.11%) (P > 0.05). The percentage of CD3+ T cell and CD4+/CD8+ of patients with advanced NSCLC were significantly lower than those of normal controls (P < 0.01 and P < 0.05), and the percentage of CD8+ and NK cell of patients were higher than those of normal controls (P < 0.05). The correlation analysis showed that CD123+DC percentage was positively correlated to CD3+T cell percentage (P < 0.05) and negatively correlated to NK cell percentage (P < 0.01). The expression of DC subsets correlated with KPS and chemotherapy history of patients (P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONSThe advanced NSCLC may induce significant decreasing expression of CD11c+DC and may induce significant decrease of immunology state. There are close relationship among the expression of DC subsets and the immunology state of patients as well as the clinical biological behaviors of patients with advanced NSCLC.

Objective To investigate the value of a nomogram model constructed from intratumoral and peritumoral magnetic resonance imaging radiomics combined with clinical characteristics in predicting the status of lymphovascular space invasion(LVSI)in cervical cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 178 cervical cancer patients confirmed by postoperative pathology, with 70 cases of LVSI(+)and 108 cases of LVSI(-).The patients were divided into a training set[142 cases, including 54 cases of LVSI(+)and 88 cases of LVSI(-)]and a test set[36 cases, including 16 cases of LVSI(+)and 20 cases of LVSI(-)]at a ratio of 8:2.All underwent magnetic resonance imaging before surgery, and regions of interest were manually delineated layer by layer on the T2WI sequence, with the peritumoral region being uniformly expanded outward.Univariate logistic analysis was performed on clinical factors to select independent factors for cervical cancer LVSI(+).Radiomic features were extracted separately from the intratumoral region, the peritumoral region, and the intratumoral-peritumoral region to construct radiomics models, and the differences between the peritumoral and the intratumoral-peritumoral models were compared.A combined model was established based on the radiomics scores of the optimal intratumoral-peritumoral model and clinical independent predictive factors, and a nomogram was plotted.Receiver operating characteristic curves were used to evaluate the diagnostic performance of each model, and decision curve analysis was used to assess the clinical value of the models. Results The combined model demonstrated the best performance among the various models, with AUC of 0.970 in the training set and 0.803 in the test set. Conclusion Intratumoral and peritumoral magnetic resonance imaging radiomics combined with clinical characteristics can effectively predict LVSI in cervical cancer.

In response to the clinical needs of cancer treatment and rehabilitation, Professor Lin Hongsheng proposed the Wuzhi Wuyang (five treatments and rehabilitation) concept on the basis of years of clinical experience and the Guben Qingyuan (consolidate the foundation and clear the source) theory. Wuzhi Wuyang emphasizes the importance of treatment and rehabilitation and aims to provide personalized and stage-specific treatment and rehabilitation plans by integrating the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and modern medicine to achieve comprehensive life-cycle management for patients with cancer. The proposal of Wuzhi Wuyang has provided new ideas and methods for the treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of cancer, along with valuable references for clinical practice and academic research. This article summarizes the connotation of Wuzhi Wuyang and its application in the comprehensive management of cancer prevention and treatment with TCM.
