Objective Discbuss the hypertension prevalence rate in the Wuhan male taxi drivers and the dangerous factor to provide the basis for its professional publie health work. Methods The Wuhan male taxi drivers were carried on the healthy physical examination who in the Hubei province medicine medical examination center during 2005-2007 and were carried on the epidemiology statistical analysis. Results The Wuhan male taxi drivers hypertension prevalence rate is 28.28%. That is higher than the common crowd. Hypertension leaves outside the heredity factor and be closely correlated with the age of harnesses, the body weight index, and so on. Conclusions The Wuhan male taxi drivers'hypertension prevalence rate is unoptimistic. We should take the synthesis preventing and controlling measure to reduce this crowd hypertension prevalence rate.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(3):245-247
BACKGROUND:Proanthocyanidin,a kind of grape seed extract(GSE),has the effect of anti-oxidation and elimination of free radicals.Research finds that increase of free radicals in skeletal muscle and active oxygen in other forms induced by exercise is one of the important causes of the injury and fatigue of skeletal muscle. Supplement of antioxidant can inhibit this kind of change and improve motor ability. OBJECTIVE:To study the anti-fatigue effects of proanthocyanidin. DESIGN:A completely randomized controlled experimental study taking experimental animals as the subjects. SETTING:A toxicological department of a provincial center for disease control and prevention. PARTICIPANTS:The experiment was completed in the Department of Toxicology,Jiangsu Center for Disease Control and Prevention from September to December 2001.Male mice of Kunming strain and common grade[certification number:SCXK(Su) 2002-0011;certification number of environmental equipment for experimental animal:SYXK(Su) 2001-0004]were purchased from the Experiment Animal Center of Chinese Pharmacological University. The 120 mice were randomly divided according to body mass into control group and 3 experiment groups, namely,low-,medium-and high-dose GSE groups, with 10 mice in each group. The mice in the 3 experiment groups received oral administration of GSE every day. INTERVENTIONS:The mice in the 3 experiment groups received oral administration of GSE of 1.7, 16.7 and 50.0 mg/kg body mass, respectively, while those in control group were only given twice distilled water for 30 consecutive days. After GSE treatment for 30 days, the loaded swimming time, contents of hepatic glycogen, blood lactic acid(LA) and hemoglobin were measured. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Loaded swimming time, hepatic glycogen,LA and hemoglobin contents. RESULTS:The loaded swimming time of mice in experiment groups was significantly prolonged as compared with that in control group (P< 0.01),with(17.84± 8.48) and(25.80± 7.45) minutes in medium-and high-dose GSE groups, respectively.LA content after exercise in experiment groups was all lower than that in control group, with greatly significant difference between high-dose GSE group[(6.78± 2.45) mmol/L] and control group[(9.98± 1.22) mmol/L](P< 0.01).The content of hepatic glycogen after exercise in experiment groups was higher than that in control group; medium-dose GSE group[(1 244.65(177.58) mg/100 g liver mass]and high-dose GSE group[(1 383.96± 141.20) mg/100 g liver mass]differed greatly significantly from control group[(817.67(114.72) mg/100 g liver mass](P< 0.05,P< 0.01). CONCLUSION:Grape seed extract proanthocyanidin has an anti-fatigue effect.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(09):-
microRNAs (miRNAs) are a recently discovered family of small non-coding RNAs, which exist in eukaryotes and regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by binding to complementary sites on target mRNAs. MiRNAs play important roles in regulation of cell proliferation, development, apoptosis and cell differentiation. It’s predicted that about 1% human known genes encode microRNAs and microRNAs may regulate 10~30%of the genes in the human genome. The paper focus on the knowledge about how to recognize miRNAs and identify their target mRNAs.

Objective To assess the efficacy of intedeukin (IL)-1Ra,a recombinant human IL-1receptor antagonist, plus methotrexate ( MTX ) in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis ( RA ) refractory to MTX therapy. Methods A total of 54 patients with active RA,who had been taking MTX at a stable dosage, were randomized to receive daily subcutaneous injections of IL-1Ra (80 mg) or placebo. The proportion of patients who had a response as assessed by ACR20,ACR50 and ACR70 was analyzed using Chi-square test measures.Baseline variables and DAS28 were analyzed using Student's t-test (parametric) or Wilcoxon's rank sum test (nonparametric) as appropriate. Results After 24 weeks, more patients achieved clinical benefits treated with IL-1Ra plus MTX compared with MTX alone (64% vs 17%,P=-0.004) as determined by the ACR20 improvement. In the IL-1Ra group,an ACR50 response was observed in 38% and an ACR70 response in 17%.None of the patients treated with MTX alone achieved ACR50 or ACR 70 improvement.However,9 of 42 (21%) patients in the IL-1Ra group, who showed therapeutic response initially, had secondary drug failure to IL-1Ra therapy thereafter.A significant increase in mean DAS28 from baseline was found in the nonresponders to IL-1Ra,compared with placebo. Conclusion IL-IRa is effective for the treatment of patients with active RA by blocking IL-1.However,the efficacy of IL-1Ra is lost soon in about one-fifth of patients in soite of initial good resoonse.

Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(1):30-33
Background:The incidence of inflammatory bowel disease( IBD ) is increasing in recent years, however, its pathogenic mechanism has not been fully clarified. Previous studies revealed that adipokines played crucial roles in regulating intestinal inflammation. Aims:To investigate the role of visfatin,an adipocytokine, and its clinical significance in active IBD. Methods:Ninety-one patients with active IBD including 61 Crohn’s disease( CD)and 30 ulcerative colitis ( UC)at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Suzhou Municipal Hospital from May 2015 to Dec. 2015 were enrolled in this study, and 48 healthy subjects were served as controls. Serum level of visfatin was determined by ELISA. Correlation of serum visfatin level with clinical features of IBD was analyzed, its diagnostic performance for IBD was assessed by ROC curve. Results:Serum level of visfatin was significantly higher in patients with active CD and UC than in healthy controls[(385. 24 ± 112. 64)pg/mL and(378. 91 ± 118. 57)pg/mL vs. (321. 11 ± 96. 27)pg/mL, P all ﹤0. 05]. Significant positive correlation was found between serum visfatin level and disease activity index(Mayo score)of UC( r =0. 398,P ﹤0. 05 ),however,no correlations were found between serum visfatin level and disease activity index of CD,CRP and ESR,two common inflammatory indicators for IBD and location of IBD(P all ﹥0. 05). The area under curve( AUC)of serum visfatin for diagnosis of CD and UC were 0. 654 and 0. 622,respectively;the diagnostic accuracy was relatively low. Conclusions:Serum visfatin might be associated with the active intestinal inflammation in IBD and has the potential to be served as a clinical index for active UC.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2009;25(3):325-328
AIMTo explore the effect of remodeling and biomechanical properties after chronic treating with tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) in spontaneously hypertensive rats.
METHODSThe spontaneously hypertensive rat(SHR) were given with BH4 chronically. The opening angle in the zero-stress state , wall-to-lumen area ratios (W/L) of thoracic aorta and the relationship between pressure and diameter (P-D) of mesenteric artery were measured by computer image analysis in 4, 16, and 26 week-old respectively.
RESULTSTreating with BH4 chronically from 4 weeks-old in SHR, there was a significant decrease in morphometric parameters of the thoracic aorta and an increase in the zero-stress state of opening angle of elastic artery. The P-D curve of mesenteric artery moved upward.
CONCLUSIONTreating with BH4 prevented the structure and function of artery from abnormal changing, including to attenuate the resistant vascular hypertrophy and recover the vascular elasticity and expansibility.
