OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between CCR5 delta32 gene polymorphism and condyloma acuminata.
METHODSWe used polymerase chain reaction to amplify the CCR5 gene fragments in 60 patients with condyloma acuminata and 50 age- and sampling date-matched controls, and compared the difference of genotypes between these two groups.
RESULTSNo genotype difference was found between these two groups.
CONCLUSIONCondyloma acuminata are not associated with genetic polymorphism of CCR5 delta32 gene.

Objective To evaluate the value of modified early warning score (MEWS) for formulating nursing interventions plan in intensive care units (ICU) trauma patients. Methods A total of 114 cases from ICU trauma patients were randomly assigned to observation group and control group with 57 cases in each group.Observation group received sub-level care according to modified early warning score, while the control group received traditional care measures, the differences of complications and hospitalization time in two group were compared. Results The incidence of complications in observation group was lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05 ).The respiratory-related complication (pulmonary infection, respiratory failure and acute respiratory distress syndrome) ratio in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.05).The stay time in ICU in observation group was shorter than that in control group [ (8.19 ±7.40) days vs ( 11.28 ± 8.65 ) days],and the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Sub-level trauma care according to the modified early warning score for ICU trauma patients can effectively reduce the respiratory-related complications and the ICU stay time.

BACKGROUND: Micro-arc oxidation (MAO) treatment can improve the biological properties of titanium alloy implants. Previous studies mostly focused on the evaluation of titanium alloy plate, while the effects of the MAO-modified 3D titanium scaffold on the cell growth and differentiation were rarely reported. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of MAO coating on the biological performance of cells seeded onto the 3D-printed porous titanium alloy scaffold. METHODS: Rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells were seeded onto the MAO-modified Ti6Al4V alloy scaffolds (experimental group) and unmodified scaffolds (control group). After 4 and 7 days of culture, cell/scaffold constructs were retrieved and processed for the assessment of cell morphology by using scanning electron microscopy, cytoskeletal staining analysis and cell viability assay were also evaluated. At 4, 7 and 11 days of culture, the levels of alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin in the cell supernatant were detected. At 1, 4, 7 and 11 days of culture, the cell proliferation rate was measured using the MTT assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) At 4 and 7 days of culture, live/dead staining showed that the bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells grew well on the two kinds of scaffolds. The analysis of cytoskeleton staining showed that the cytoskeleton of the experimental group was stereo and polygonal, while the cells on the scaffold surface in the control group were flat and spindle-shaped, spreading along the macro structure of the scaffolds. Under the scanning electron microscopy, the cells in the experimental group arranged closely and spread in a good condition, with interconnected lamellipodia and filopodia that firmly adhered to the scaffold surface in an anchor-shaped structure; in the control group, less filopodia interconnected, less extracellular matrix, and flat and sheet-like cells were observed. (2) With the time increase, the levels of alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin increased gradually in both groups. The alkaline phosphatase level in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group at 7 and 11 days of culture (P < 0.05), while the osteocalcin level was higher in the experimental group than the control group at 11 days of culture (P < 0.05). (3) With the prolongation of culture time, the number of cells in the two groups increased gradually. The number of cells cultured in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group at 7 and 11 days of culture (P < 0.05). To conclude, the MAO-modified titanium alloy scaffold is favorable for cell adhesion, proliferation and differentiation.

OBJECTIVETo explore the reconstitution of immune function and viral suppression condition and to analyze the occurrence of drug resistance HIV-1 variants and its prevalence after using HAART in Guangxi Autonomy Region.
METHODSFrom July 2004 to October 2005, 133 HIV infected individuals who had received HAART for more than three months were recruited, and 58 infected persons with no antiviral therapy were selected as controls. Questionnaire was used to collect information about the adherence of HAART therapy. Immune reconstruction and viral suppress conditions were obtained by CD4+ counts and viral load and RT-PCR were used to amplify the PR and RT regions of HIV-1 genome while HIV-1 drug resistance rates were analyzed to show the occurrence and prevalence in both treated and naive patients.
RESULTSIn terms of CD4+ T cell counts: 70.69% of the treated patients showed obvious increase and 23.28% had no apparent change but 6.03% of them went down. 70.48% of the patients who had received antiviral therapy more than 3 months had their viral load lower than the low detectable limitation. When comparing the log of viral load between treated and untreated cohort, the mean value of the treated was obviously less than the untreated (P < 0.05). However, the result of drug resistance showed no obvious difference between the treated and untreated groups.
CONCLUSIONThe antiviral therapy being used in Guangxi region, had achieved obvious effect on the reconstruction of immune system and the suppression of viral replication in vivo under good adherence while the occurrence of drug-resistant HIV strain did not show obvious difference between treated and naive patient groups.

Chinese medicinal formulae are the important means of clinical treatment in traditional Chinese medicine. It is urgent to use modern advanced scientific and technological means to reveal the complicated mechanism of Chinese medicinal formulae because they have the function characteristics of multiple components, multiple targets and integrated regulation. The systematic and comprehensive research model of proteomic is in line with the function characteristics of Chinese medicinal formulae, and proteomic has been widely used in the study of pharmacological mechanism of Chinese medicinal formulae. The recent applications of proteomic in pharmacological study of Chinese medicinal formulae in anti-cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, anti-liver disease, antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases were reviewed in this paper, and then the future development direction of proteomic in pharmacological study of Chinese medicinal formulae was put forward. This review is to provide the ideas and method for proteomic research on function mechanism of Chinese medicinal formulae.

Total glucosides of peony (TGP), containing the effective components of paeoniflorin (Pae), albiflorin (Alb) and so on, are effective parts of Radix Paeoniae Alba. And it possesses extensive pharmacological actions, one of which is hepatoprotective effect. In recent years, abundant of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics research of TGP in hepatoprotective effects have been performed. However, the relative medicine of TGP in hepatoprotective effect has not been developed for clinical application. In order to provide reference for the development and rational clinical application of TGP, the research progresses of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of TGP in hepatoprotective effect were summarized in this paper. Pharmacokinetics research has clarified the process of absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of TGP in vivo, and liver injury disease can significantly influence its metabolic processes. Pharmacodynamics studies suggested that TGP can protect against acute liver injury, non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD), chronic liver fibrosis and liver cancer. However, the action mechanism and in vivo process about hepatoprotective effects of TGP have not been clearly revealed. How liver injury influences the metabolism of TGP and its integrated regulation through multiple targets need to be further studied. The combined pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics studies should be performed in favour of medicine development and clinical application of TGP in hepatoprotective effects.
