miRNAs were discovered less than a decade ago, and have emerged as important regulators of gene expression in mammals. A large number of miRNAs have been identified to be located within the intronic regions of protein-encoding genes(host genes) and called intronic miRNAs. The intronic miRNAs may play a key role in regulating the expression and function of their host genes due to the fact that most of them are co-expressed with the host genes. In this paper, the recent advances on the research on potential relationship between intronic miRNAs and their host genes are reviewed.

Objective To observe the effects of propofol on the hippocampal astrocytes and microglia in the nenotal mice . Methods 15 healthy mice from the same litters on postnatal 7 d were randomized into 3 groups:high dose propofol group ,low dose propofol group and 10% intralipid control group .All mice were treated with drugs on postnatal 7 d by intraperitoneal injection and were sacrificed at 24 h after drugs treatment .The high dose group was injected with propofol 60mg · kg -1 ;the low dose group was injected with propofol 30mg · kg -1 ;the control group was injected with the equal volume of 10% intralipid .The immunohistochem‐istry assay was used to detect the expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and ionized calcium binding adapter molecular 1 (Iba1) for observing the effect of propofol on the astrocytes (AST ) and microglia in the hippocampus .Results Compared with the control group ,the number of GFAP‐labeled AST in the dentate gyms (DG) molecular layer of hippocampus in P7 mice of the high dose propofol group was significantly reduced (P<0 .01) ,while no obvious effect of the low‐dose propofol on the number of AST was observed ;high dose and low dose propofol all significantly decreased the number of Iba1‐labeled microglia .Conclusion Propofol can inhibit the growth of the hippocampal AST and microglia in a dose‐dependent manner .

Aim To study the effect of Baoxinbao film on endothelin(ET) and nitric oxide(NO) secretion in patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP).Methods 76 patients with SAP were randomly divided into two groups, with 40 cases in the baoxinbao group plastered with baoxinbao film and 36 cases in the isosorbide dinitrate group receiving isosorbide dinitrate. The levels of plasma ET and NO before and after treatment were observed. Results The concentrations of plasma ET were increased and plasma NO reduced significantly in the SAP patients respectively, as compared with those in the control group(all P

Objective To detect and analyze the mutation of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3(FGFR3) gene among a family with congenital achondroplasia(ACH).Methods Six blood samples of family member in this pedigree were cellected according to the informed consent process for genetic research, and 2 unralted healthy human blood sample were taken as controls. The mutation at nucleotide position 1 138 on FGFR3 gene was detected by using Polymerase chain reaction and single-strand conformation polymorphism(PCR-SSCP)and polyme-rase chain reaction and restriction endonuclease technology(PCR-RFLP) methods. Results Using PCR-SSCP method firstly, only the proband with ACH and his father in this family had the same abnormal band. The amplified products including 1 138 loci on FGFR3 gene further was analyzed by Sfe Ⅰ digestion,3 fragments including 164 bp,109 bp and 55 bp were detected in the proband and his father again, and the other members in the family and 2 controls just showed 164 bp band.It indicated that just 2 patients (proband and his father) showed heterozygous G→A transition mutation at nucleotide position 1 138 on the FGFR3 gene. The amplified products at 1 138 loci was also detected by MspⅠ digestion, just 1 band was observed in all members in this family and 2 controls. It showed that there was no G→C substitution at nucleotide position 1 138.Conclusions The G→A transition mutation at nucleotide position 1 138 in transmembrane domain of FGFR3 gene may be the main cause of achondroplasia in this family. In this pedigree, the proband showed's father a de novo mutation which was transferred to his child again.

Objective To evaluate collateral flows using vessel encoded arterial spin labeling (VE-ASL) perfusion imaging. MethodsVE-ASL was achieved to assess the presence and function of collateral flow on patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis. The presence of the anterior and posterior collateral flow was demonstrated by flow patterns of the A1 segment and posterior communicating artery (PCoA).Distal function of collateral flow of stenotic hemisphere was categorized as adequate ( cerebral blood flow ≥10 ml · min-1·100 g-1 ) or deficient (cerebral blood flow < 10 ml · min-1· 100 g-1 ). The results were compared with magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) and intraarterial digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in crosstable by using Kappa values. The VE-ASL before and after ICA stent therapy were compared. ResultsThe Kappa values of the flow patterns of AI segment and PCoA between VE-ASL and MRA were 0. 746 and 0. 700. The Kappa value of the function of collaterals using VE-ASL and DSA was914. VE-ASL showed collateral flow via leptomeningeal anastomoses. VE-ASL changed significantly after ICA steat therapy. ConclusionVE-ASL reveals the presence and distal function of collateral flow, which helps to evaluate the efficacy of ICA steat therapy.

ObjectiveTo probe into the clinical efficiency of reconstruction to person who had composite tissue defect of the floor of mouth and the lower part of face with the free forearm flap and free iliac bone in the same term.MethodsBefore the surgery, the surgeon should carefully evaluate the scope and shape of defects in 11 cases who had the composite tissue defects of the floor of mouth and the lower part of face, to design the individual forearm flap, so that it matches with the defect region. During surgery, the first resumption of defects using titanium plates forming the basic shape of mandible and the occlusal relationship, then used to re-sawing to take modeling of the iliac bone, transplanted free iliac bone and fixed after the inside of the titanium plate, thereby restoring the continuity of mandible missing.ResultsFree forearm flap and free iliac bone all survived in 11 cases, the success rate of 100%. The patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months, although the shape of restoration areas were different levels of fat, but eating, swallowing and other oral function had been well improved, 7/11 could enter normal diet, 4/11 to enter liquid diet, At the same time, the patients in social activities can communicate in a language daily, sensory function of skin flap and facial appearance has been satisfactory recovery.ConclusionConformal free forearm flap and free iliac bone is an ideal way to reconstruct the composite tissue defects of the floor of mouth and the lower part of face in the same period, not only safe, practical prognostic effect, and also can significantly improve the patients quality of life, which is worthy of reference and use.

One year survey on the concentrations and monthly or seasonal variations of airborne microbe in Guangzhou city were analysed and studied with JWL-IIB airborne microbial sampler. The results showed that the yearly average airborne microbe content of outdoor was 2, 298 cfu/m3, and that of indoor was 1,792 cfu/m3 in Guangzhou city. The monthly variation range of outdoor airborne microbe was from 1,073 to 4,096 cfu/m3, the highest content was 4,096 cfu/m3 in March, and the lowest content was 1,073 cfu/m3 in October. The outdoor airborne bacteria and fungi counts were the highest in spring, next in summer, lower in winter and the lowest in autumn in the four seasons . The yearly average concentrations of outdoor airborne microbe at the Garbage compression station, the business walk street, the key traffic route, the residential area, the industrial district and the garden were 4, 573, 3, 835, 1, 580, 1,413, 1, 197 and 1, 187 cfu/m3respectively; and Ones of indoor at the key traffic route, the tourist three star-route hotel and the subway station were 2,511, 1,699and 1,167 cfu/m3 respectively . The study on airborne microbe can be used for the research of health prevention and environment control measures in Guangzhou .
