OBJECTIVETo study the relation between relative density and kinematical viscosity of the concentration for Yuxianling granules.
METHODThe relative density and kinematical viscosity by alkali burette of the concentration were investigated. The connection between kinematical viscosity and spray drying, also and temperature of the concentration was respected. In the meantime, different mathematical models were simulated.
RESULTKinematical viscosity is susceptible than relative density to the effect for spray drying, and the mathematical model is also set up accordingly. The result can offer the proper inlet temperature and kinematical viscosity for spray drying. CONCLUSIon The method in the experiment is simple, practical and manipulate easily. The study will provide the basis for extracted solution of compression and spray drying.

OBJECTIVELong time exhaled oxygen will induced oxygen toxicity. Some studies had found that different pathology may exised in normobaric and hyperbaric pulmonary oxygen toxicity, and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) may play a role. In this study, we discussed the change of NOS in normobaric and hyperbaric pulmonary oxygen toxicity.
METHODSSixty male SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups (n = 10), exposed to 1 ATA (atmosphere absolute), 1.5 ATA, 2 ATA, 2.5 ATA and 3 ATA, 100% oxygen for 56, 20, 10, 8, 6 hours respectively. Rats were exposed to air as control. After exposure, the protein in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), the wet/dry weight of lung and the expression of eNOS, nNOS in lung were defined.
RESULTSAs compared to air group, the protein in BALF, the wet/dry of lung were significantly elevated in 1.0 ATA group, while these changes were not so obviously in the other groups, and these changes in hyperbaric oxygen group (approximately 1.0 ATA) were significantly decreased as compared with nonnrmobaric oxygen group (1.0 ATA). The expression of nNOS were not changed in normobaric and hyperbaric pulmonary oxygen toxicity, while the expression of eNOS was significantly decreased in 2 ATA group, and significantly elevated in 2.5 ATA and 3 ATA group.
CONCLUSIONThe expression of eNOS can change when exposed to different pressures of oxygen.

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical characteristics of pathological fracture in extremities caused by bone tumors or tumor-like lesions. MethodsFrom August 2002 to December 2010, 139 patients with pathological fractures were entered in the study, including 79 males and 60 females with an average age of 31.1 years. Fractures included tumor-like lesion in 55 cases, benign tumor in 13, giant cell tumor (GCT)in 7, primary malignant tumors in 28, and metastatic tumors in 36. Forces induced to fractures were classified into four grades: spontaneous fracture, functional activity, minor injury, severe injury. Age, fracture location, histological results, fractures forces, prodromes, and misdiagnosis were all observed. Chi-square test were use to compare forces and prodromes within different tumors. ResultsThe highest morbidity rate is 32.4%(45/139) which lies in 11-20 years old. The cites of fractures including femurs in 71 cases, humerus in 36, tibia in 15, fingers in 7, radiuses in 4, fibula in 3, ulnas in 2, and metatarsus in 1. Fracture forces include spontaneous fractures in 29 cases, functional activity in 42, minor injuries in 65, and traumatic injuries in 3. Sixty-seven patients(48.2%) had local prodromes. The prodromes of both malignant tumors and metastatic tumors were more than benign tumors. Twenty cases experienced misdiagnosis with average delay time of 12 weeks. ConclusionMinor injury forces and local prodromes are clinical key features of pathological fractures. Both of them are key points of avoiding misdiagnosis.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2008;33(5):399-403
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the frequency of vitamin D receptor (VDR) Fok I polymorphism in healthy Chinese and colorectal tumor patients, and to study the correlation between VDR Fok I polymorphism and the pathogenesis of colorectal tumor.
METHODS:
After the preparation of gDNA by common method,VDR genotypes were determined by Fok I restriction endonuclease digestion of PCR-amplified DNA in 69 colorectal cancer patients and 218 healthy persons.
RESULTS:
The F allele frequencies of VDR in healthy persons and in colorectal tumors patients were 61.5% and 49.3%, respectively, with statistical difference (P< 0.05). The genotype frequencies of FF, Ff and ff in healthy persons and in colorectal tumors patient were (39.5%,44%,16.5%) and (29.1%,40.5%,30.4%), respectively, with statistical differences (P< 0.05). The odds ratio of ff and Ff genotypes were 2.51 (95% confidence interval,1.21 approximately 5.18) and 2.00 (95% confidence intervals,1.01approximately 3.96), respectively (P< 0.01).
CONCLUSION
Fok I polymorphism is a common single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of VDR in Chinese population, and the VDR Fok I polymorphism may lower the risk of colorectal tumor.

OBJECTIVETo introduce a new method for enlarging the survival area of an expanded flap.
METHODSAfter the skin expander was inflated with enough injection, the first delaying was performed. In the operation, two incisions were made in the skin and subcutaneous tissue superficial to the expander capsule on both sides of the long axis of the expanded flap. After 10 to 14 days, the second delaying followed, in which one pedicle was divided to form a unilateral-pedicled, super-long random flap. When the flap was transferred to the recipient Since 2000,this technique has been used in 16 patients. All the area, the door site was closed directly.
RESULTSflaps survived completely.
CONCLUSIONSThe technique of twice delaying can enlarge the survival area of the expanded skin flap.
