Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2003;0(10):-
Objective To study the characteristics and clinical features of positive response during head - up tilt test (HUT) in children. Methods Forty- nine cases of syncope and aura of syncope were included in the study. All of them underwent HUT (tilt angle 60 degree, lasting 45 minutes). During the test, children' blood pressure, heart rate.electrocardiography and clinical symptoms and signs were dynamically observed. Results The common syncope aura symptoms were headache, dizziness, chest distress, difficulties in breathing, pale, perspiration, blurred vision, auditus depression and symptoms related to digestive symptoms. Among the 28 positive cases, 7 cases were of vaso - inhibitory pattern (25%), with a decrease in blood pressure and an increase in heart rate, 3 cases inhibitory pattern (11%), with a decrease in heart rate but withoilt'blood pressure changes, 4 cases mixed pattern (14 %), with decreases in heart rate and blood pressure obviously, 10 eases POTS (36%), with an increase in heart rate by 30 bpm or up to 120 bpm within 10 minutes while testing, and 4 cases orthostatic hypotension (14%), with a decrease in blood pressure within 3 minutes. Conclusion HUT can be regarded as the main tool in differential diagnosis of unexplained syncope in children.

In order to solve the problems of present quartz crystal microbalance ( QCM ) measuring instruments, such as high demand for crystal cutting technology and uncomprehensive measurements for crystal parameters, a modified quadrature demodulation-based method was proposed with broadband adaptive response capacity and high frequency resolution. Moreover, it is also capable of measuring both resonant frequencies and dissipation factor D synchronously and continuously. Experimental results at room temperature indicated that the adaptive frequency range was 1-9 MHz while the frequency resolution was less than 1 Hz, measured resonance frequency shifts of crystals in the range scale linearly with the equal thickness increments of poly acrylic acid ( PAA) membrane on the working electrode, and with the volatilization of different solvent factor D is measured continuously and effectively along the time axis. To sum up, compared with traditional ones, this new method has lower material cost and more obtained parameters.

Objective To study the effect of Numb gene on CXCR4 expression and proliferation and migration of bladder cancer. Methods Human bladder cancer cells were divided into 3 groups:experimental group(transfected with Numb-ORF plasmid),negative-control group( transfected with blank vector),and blank-control group(no DNA transfected in). The expressions of Numb and CXCR4 were detected by real-time PCR and Western blotting respectively. Cell proliferation and migration were measured by MTS and Transwell assay respectively. Results Numb expressions in experimental group,negative-control group and blank-control group were 31. 044 ± 3. 350,4. 401 ± 0. 567 and 4. 287 ± 0. 341 respectively,with a statistical significance (F = 183. 418,P = 0. 000). CXCR4 levels in experimental group,negative-control group and blank-control group were 0. 344 ± 0. 167,0. 996 ± 0. 148 and 1. 010 ± 0. 106 respectively,with a statistical significance (F = 21. 355,P = 0. 002). In MTS assay,the absorb values in experimental group,negative-control group and blank-control group were 0. 615 ± 0. 057,0. 987 ± 0. 063 and 0. 957 ± 0. 066,with a statistical difference(F =33. 210,P = 0. 001). In Transwell assay,the numbers of migratory cells in experimental group,negative-con-trol group and blank-control group were 164. 667 ± 19. 858,670. 133 ± 38. 760 and 667. 533 ± 27. 610,with a statistical significance(F = 286. 788,P = 0. 000). Conclusion Overexpression of Numb can suppress the ability of proliferation and migration of the BIU-87 cells through down-regulation of CXCR4 expression in human bladder cancer.

Objective To investigate the factors associated with hyporesponsiveness to erythropoietin (EPO) in patients on maintenance peritoneal dialysis (PD) . Methods Data of 114 PD patients in our PD center were collected . Patients were divided into three groups according to weekly EPO dose: hyperresponsive, hyporesponsive and normal responsive . Various factors were compared among three groups by linear correlation and ordinal regression analysis to predict EPO resistance . Results As compared to hyperresponsive and normal responsive groups, significantly lower serum hemoglobin [(78 .11±13 .42) vs (106 .28±23 .83), (96 .31±12 .33) g/L],albumin [(33 .98±4 .78) vs (39 .72±4 .26), (35 .76±4 .88) g/L], and significantly higher serum CRP [(26 .08±21 .66) vs (5 .46±1 .75), (11 .82±5 .63) mg/L], ferritin [(371 .08±89 .38) vs (289 .39±76 .84),(323 .07±62 .46) μg/L] were found in hyporesponsive group(all P < 0 .01) . Erythropoietin resistance index (ERI) was correlated with CRP and albumin . Regression analysis showed that serum albumin,CRP and ferritin were strong predictors of EPO hyporespnsiveness . Conclusions Serum albumin,CRP and ferritin are closely related to hyporesponsiveness . Malnutrition and inflammatory state contribute to EPO hyporesponsiveness .
10.Predictive value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and other inflammatory indicators in estimating clinical severity of coronavirus disease
World Journal of Emergency Medicine 2021;12(1):79-80
The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has become a major public health issue caused by 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).[1] Severe COVID-19 patients may reveal a dysregulated immune response that allows the development of viral hyperinflammation.[2] In the fight against COVID-19, inflammatory parameters towards illness severity should be identified to improve the prognosis of patients. In this study, we aimed to assess the discriminative ability of several inflammation indicators in severe COVID-19 infection.
