TTI gene coding for Tsetse thrombin inhibitor was modified with E.coli bias codon and expressed in Escherichia coli with high efficiency.Recombinant protein was purified to more than 98% purity.Assay for enzyme activity determination was set up.The result showed that the fusion protein exhibited inhibiting activity for thrombin.Inhibitory rate of purified TTI was 73% when concentration of thrombin and substrate was 10U/ml and 250?mol/L respectively.Inhibition pattern was determined as competitive with Ki at 35?mol/L.

OBJECTIVETo observe the efficacy of Xingnaojing Injection (XI) in treatment of sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE).
METHODSTotally 65 SAE patients were retrospectively analyzed at EICU from September 2010 to September 2013. They were assigned to the control group (32 cases) and the treatment group (33 cases) according to whether they received XI. Patients in the control group received anti-infection and symptomatic support, while those in the treatment group were intravenously injected with XI at 20 mL per day for additional 7-10 days. The fever clearance time, Glasgow coma scale (GCS), C-reactive protein (CRP), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), and improvement of electroen-cephalogram (EEG) were observed in the two groups.
RESULTSCompared with the control group, the fever clearance time was shortened, CRP levels decreased, GCS score and efficacy of EEG was alleviated in the treatment group after treatment with statistical difference (P < 0.05). No adverse reaction occurred during medication.
CONCLUSIONX1 was safe and effective in treatment of SAE.

Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2013;29(6):440-443
OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical application of pedicled superficial circumflex iliac artery (SCIA) flaps in Burns and Plastic Surgery.
METHODS19 cases with skin and soft tissue defects were repaired with the Superficial circumflex iliac artery flaps. The defects located in the hand and forearm, the lower abdomen and perineal area, the radicle area of thigh, etc. Before the SCIA flaps were transfered to the recipient areas, 15 cases with different kinds of wounds were debrided thoroughly, 3 cases with scar were removed directly. The size of the flaps ranged from 3.0 cm x 4.5 cm to 26.0 cm x 22.0 cm, and the pedical was 5 cm to 7 cm in length.
RESULTSThe flaps in the 18 cases survived completely. Skin necrosis in the distal end of the flap appeared in 1 case, and the wound healed after the second repair. The follow-up period rang from 3 to 18 months. The apperance and function of the hand or foot was satisfactory.
CONCLUSIONSBecause the pedicled SCIA flaps can be obtain conveniently and contain sufficient blood-supply, so the flap is easy to survive and the flap can be designed in a large size. We believe it is an ideal method to use this flap to repair skin and soft tissue defects located in hands, forearms, the lower abdomen and perineal areas, the radicle area of thigh and so on.

Objective:To study e ects of Saikosaponin a(SSa) on tumour necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-?) release and its receptor expression in cultured hippocampal astrocytes induced by pentylenetetrazol(PTZ).Methods:The in vitro cultured primary hippocampal astrocytes were randomly divided into control group(group A),PTZ-induced group(group B)PTZ10mmol/L+SSa groups(group C and group D,the SSa concentrations were 1.25mg/L and 0.625mg/L respectively). The extracellular uid TNF-? level and the expression of tumour necrosis factor receptor type 1(TNFR1) in hippocampal astrocytes were respectively detected by ELISA and Western-blot after PTZ-induced 2 hours. Results:the TNF-? level and TNFR1 expression of group B were signi cantly higher than that of group A,group C and group D(P

?-lactamase inhibitor research is popular for its potential on ?-lactam antibiotics resistant strain.A ?-lactamase binding peptide SIPIS04-01 was obtained by the yeast two-hybid system. In vitro assay showed that it can inhibit the ?-lactamase activity. In order to improve the expression level of the recombinant peptide,a two-copy expression plasmid pYG563 was constructed by random orientation tandem repeat method after codon modification, the two-copy plasmid was successfully expressed and the product was increased by 48.4% than that of one-copy plasmid.Purified peptide showed inhibitory activity against TEM-1 ?-lactamase in vitro and the inhhibitory constant Ki was measured.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(2):145-148
OBJECTIVETo explore correlation between lung and large intestine and the two meridians under pathological condition in the view of meridian theory.
METHODSNinety-six cases of bronchial asthma were applied palpation at the running course of 12 regular meridians under the elbow and knees and back-shu points. And abnormal reactions were recorded, the affected meridians and back-shu points were discovered.
RESULTSThe abnormal reactions most frequently appeared on the Lung Meridian, followed by the Large Intestine Meridian, the Spleen Meridian, the Liver Meridian, the Stomach Meridian and the Triple Energizer Meridian. And the unusual reaction of the back-shu points most frequently appeared on Feishu (BL 13), and Dachangshu (BL 25) and Pishu (BL 21) followed as the next two.
CONCLUSIONThe existence of correlation between the Lung Meridian and the Large Intestine Meridians under pathological condition can be proved through meridian and acupoint palpation on bronchial asthma patients.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2017;33(8):1217-1221
Objective To evaluate the prostate imaging reporting and data system(PI-RADS) version 1 and version 2 for detection of prostate cancer (PCa) by multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MpMRI) in a consecutive cohort of patients with magnetic resonance imaging/transrectal ultrasonography (MRI-TRUS) fusion-guided biopsy. Methods 30 suspicious lesions including 15 prostate cancer and 15 non cancer at 3.0 T MpMRI were scored according to the PI-RADS V1(≥ 3 scores in at least one MRI sequence)system before MRI-TRUS fusion guided biopsy and correlated to histopathology results.PI-RADS V2 and Likert scores were determined retrospectively, diagnostic accuracy was determined using receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Results The PI-RADS score of the dominant lesion was significantly higher in patients with PCa compared to patients with negative histopathology (PI-RADS V1:12.10±2.60 vs 7.47±1.98,P<0.05;PI-RADS V2:4.21±1.18 vs 2.79±0.92,P<0.05);Using a Likert score cut-off ≥ 4,a sensitivity of 73.7%,a specificity of 78.9%, positive predictive value of 77.74% and a negative predictive value of 75.00% (AUC=0.778,95%CI:0.63-0.93), a PI-RADS V1 cut-off ≥ 10,a sensitivity of 73.7%,a specificity of 94.7%,positive predictive value of 93.29% and a negative predictive value of 78.26% (AUC=0.911,95%CI:0.82-1.00) and PI-RADS V2 cut-off ≥ 4,a sensitivity of 57.9%, a specificity of 100%, positive predictive value of 100% and a negative predictive value of 73.37% (AUC=0.837,95%CI:0.70-0.97) were achieved. Conclusion The described fusion system is dependable and efficient for targeted MRI-TRUS fusion-guided biopsy.MpMRI PI-RADS scores combined with a novel real-time MRI-TRUS fusion system facilitate sufficient diagnosis of PCa with high sensitivity and specificity,PI-RADS scores appears to be the preferable method for the evaluation of prostate cancer than Likert score, while V2 does not perform better than V1.
