Objectives To explore the relationship between serum leve ls of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and the disease activity of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and study the mechan isms of these two factors in the pathogenesis of SLE. Methods The serum levels of HGF and MMP-9 were measured by ELISA. The growth curve of normal ECV304 cell line was obtained, and the action concentration of recombinant human hepatocyte growth factor (rhHGF) was determined. MMP-9 expression level in cells was detec ted by flow cytometric analysis. Results The serum level of HGF increased sign ificantly in SLE patients as compared with that in healthy controls (P 0.05). The area of ROC curve was 0.707 and the sensitivity was 66 .7% when using the serum level of HGF as diagnostic standard. The area under ROC curve was 0.984 and the sensitivity was 97.2% when using the serum level of MMP-9 as diagnostic standard. The sensitivity was 66.7% (24/36) when two markers (H GF and MMP-9) were examined simultaneously. Additionally, the action concentrati on of rhHGF was 8 ng/mL, and the expression level of MMP-9 was 39.74% in normal ECV304 cells and increased to 40.32% after rhHGF stimulation. Conclusions It i s suggested that HGF and MMP-9 may be involved in the pathogenesis of SLE, and s erum levels of HGF and MMP-9 might be used as markers for monitoring the disease activity, renal damage, disease progression and improvement in SLE. The sensiti vity might be higher when serum level of MMP-9 is used as diagnostic standard, a nd rhHGF can enhance MMP-9 expression in ECV304 cell line.

AIM To investigate the preventive effects of taurine on the left ventricle hypertrophy in renovascular hypertensive rats. METHODS Two-kidney 1-clip (2K1C) rats were used to establish the model of renovascular hypertension. The myocardial local aldosterone(Ald) and AngⅡconcentration (MDC,MAC) were measured by radioimmunoassay. Expression of oncogene c-fos mRNA was analyzed by means of in situ hybridization. The myocardial collagen concentration (MCC) was measured by biochemical method. The myocardial tissue structure was observed under the microscope ,and the myocardial fiber diamension (MFD) was measured with micrometer. The linear correlation between MCC, MFD and MAC or MDC was analysed respectively. RESULTS Compared with sham operated rats ,the MCC, MAC, MDC and MFD were significantly increased in 2K1C rats ( P

Abstract: Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of public health emergencies in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture from 2012 to 2021, and to provide reference for formulating relevant prevention and control measures. Methods The data of public health emergencies reported in Xishuangbanna from 2012 to 2021 were collected and analyzed through the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Results A total of 78 public health emergencies (including "Unrated" events) were reported in Xishuangbanna from 2012 to 2021. The highest 21 cases and the lowest 3 cases were reported every year. A total of 1 0374 cases were reported in 78 public health emergencies, involving a population of 1 703 049, with a morbidity of 609.14/100 000, 24 deaths, mortality of 1.41/100 000 and fatality rate of 231.35/100 000. The event level was mainly "general (level Ⅳ)" with 52 incidents, accounting for 66.67%, and 17 incidents of "major (level Ⅲ)", accounting for 21.79%. 51 cases were mainly infectious diseases, accounting for 65.39%. The peak periods for incidents were May-July and November-February of the next year; there were 39 incidents in schools, accounting for 50%, followed by 20 incidents in families, accounting for 25.64%. The top three reported cases were food poisoning (32.05%), chicken pox 17 (21.79%) and dengue fever 10 (12.82%). Among the 24 deaths in public health emergencies, 22 were caused by food poisoning. Wild bacteria poisoning and alcohol poisoning were the main causes of food poisoning, accounting for 45.83% and 37.5% of the total deaths, respectively. Conclusion Infectious diseases, especially respiratory diseases and food poisoning are the focus of the prevention and control of public health emergencies in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, of which Schools and families should be pay close attention. Plague, a Class A infectious disease, caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis has occurred in two inter-animal outbreaks in 10 years and spread to the population, which should be of great concern.

· ATM:To analyze bacterial spectrum and drug sensitivity in conjunctival sac of cataract patients of Kazak.
· METHODS:A total of 538 cases of conjunctival sac secretion in cataract patients of Kazak were collected. The samples were cultured and their sensibilities to antibiotics were tested.
· RESULTS: The bacterial culture was positive in 214 cases. The positive rate was 39.8%. The variety of pathogenic bacteria were mainly made up of gram positive cocci ( 88.3%), and most of them were Staphylococcus epidermidis ( 66.4%), followed by Micrococcus(9.8%).Sex had no effect on conjunctival bacteria rate in the cataract patients of Kazak, while age, place of residence had an effect on camier rate. The camier rate of conjunctival bacteria was significantly higher in people over 60 years old than that in people with age between 40 to 59 years old.And the people from city had a significant lower bacteria positive rate than those from countryside and pastoral. Most of grams were sensitive to Vancomycin, Teicoplanin, Rifampicin, Duly cloth mildew mutual and Amikacin, the tolerance was less than 20%, and they usually had higher tolerance to Penicillin, Erythromycin, Tetracycline and Chloramphenicol (>70%) .
·CONCLUSlON:Gram positivecocci is the most common bacteria in conjunctival sac in cataract patients of Kazak. Staphylococcus epidermidis was most common, followed by Micrococcus. The germ-carrying rate of conjunctival SAC in Kazakh population is associated with the patient’s age and area of residence. The clinical use of antibacterial drugs should be strictly grasp the indications, to reduce the incidence of bacterial resistance.

OBJECTIVETo determine the relationship of serum hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) levels with the disease activity of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
METHODSSerum levels of HGF and MMP-9 were measured by ELISA in 36 patients with SLE and 30 healthy subjects as controls.
RESULT(1)Significantly increased serum level of HGF was found in SLE patients as compared with that in healthy controls (P<0.001), but serum level of MMP-9 in SLE patients decreased (P<0.001). Serum level of HGF was significantly decreased after treatment in SLE patients (P<0.05), but serum level of MMP-9 was increased (P<0.05). (2)Serum level of HGF was markedly higher in patients with active disease (24 cases) than those with inactive disease (P<0.05), but serum level of MMP-9 was lower (P<0.05). (3)Significantly increased serum level of HGF was found in patients with renal damage (16 cases) than those without (P<0.001), but serum level of MMP-9 was lower in patients with renal damage than those without (P<0.005). (4)Serum level of HGF was higher in patients with arthritis (23 cases) than those without (P<0.01), but serum level of MMP-9 had no significant difference in two groups (P>0.05). (5)The area of ROC curve was 0.707 and the sensitivity was 66.7% if serum level of HGF was served as diagnostic standard. The area of ROC curve was 0.984 and the sensitivity was 97.2% if serum level of MMP-9 was served as diagnostic standard. The sensitivity was 66.7% (24/36) if the two markers were examined simultaneously.
CONCLUSIONThe data suggest that HGF and MMP-9 could be involved in the pathogenesis of SLE, and serum levels of HGF and MMP-9 be used as markers to monitor disease activity, renal damage, disease progression and amelioration in SLE.
