2.Discussion of tumor treatment from the theory of ascending and descending activities of qi.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2015;35(1):104-106
The theory of ascending and descending activities of qi is one basic theory that guides diagnosis and treatment of disease clinically. It has been esteemed by ancient physicians throughout their academic thinking and clinical diagnosis. As a kind of unbalanced disease in the whole body, the basic internal mechanism of tumor formation may be caused by unbalanced ascending and descending activities of qi. Better clinical efficacy is liable to get by applying the theory of ascending and descending activities of qi in cancer treatment. Therefore, we hope to provide a reference for clinicians from the following aspects: historical status and academic value of the theory of ascending and descending activities of qi, case examples and classical prescriptions.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2013;38(23):4181-4184
As a characteristic tumor therapy in China, Chinese medicine (CM) plays an important position in comprehensive treatment of tumor. It's a critical issue of objective realization, analysis and evaluation of CM safety for scientific decision-making in tumor safe medication and it also is a pivotal issue which affects the international communication. The safety evaluation of CM includes three phases: pre-clinical safety evaluation, clinical trials (micro-dose studies and traditional clinical trials) and post-marketing CM safety assessment. The key point of evaluation should be distinguished among different stages and various types of CM (such as classic formulas, Chinese herbal extracts, etc). Emphasis should be given to chronic toxicity when evaluating oral Chinese herbal , microdose studies and quality control must be underlined while injection is evaluated and more attention should be pay to the dose-effect relationship and time-effect relationship when turned to toxic Chinese medicine , and so as for the toxicity grading study. Moreover, we should constantly improve CM safety assessment method in various stages of tumor treatment, such as introducing the concept of syndrome classification theory, bringing in metabonomics and real-world research method which are similar to the CM therapeutic concept. Most importantly, we must keep its own feature of CM theory when we learn the concept of safety evaluation from abroad. Actively exploring the anti-tumor medicine safety evaluation methods and strategies is of great significance for clinical and experimental research, and it can provide supportability platform to CM's international communication.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(1):78-81
Background Researches have suggested that the defocus can induce the change of static visual acuity, but whether it produce influence on dynamic visual acuity is not clear. Objective This study was to investigate the impact of myopic defocus on static visual acuity and dynamic visual acuity and explore the essential difierence between static visual acuity and dynamic visual acuity. Methods Forty volunteers were enrolled in this trial.including 20 adults with the age of 27.4±1.64 years and 20 children with the age of 11.70+1.49 years. All the eyes of subjects received regular examined to excluded the eye disease with the best corrected vision of ≥1.0 D,astigmatism of ≤0.75 D and anisometropia <1.50 D.+1.00 D,+1.50 D,+2.00 D,+2.50 D slasses were ware respectively for the defocus on the foundation of full correction.Dynamic visual acuity was inspected by using selfmade DVA-I training software.and static visual acuity wag tested by static visual acuity chart (Precision Vision,CAT.NO.2125).This clinical trial complied with the Helsinki Declaration and obtained the approval of Ethic Committee of Wenzhou Medical College.Written informed consent was received from each individual prior to the protocol. Results The dynamic and static visual acuities were gradually decreased with the elevation of defocus (F=506.907,P=0.000).No significant differences were found between static visual acuity and dynamic visual acuity in adult or children at various defocus(P>0.05).The regression linear analysis showed that a positive correlation between static visual acuity with defoeus(R2=0.819,t=26.72,P=0.000) or dynamic visual acuity with defoeus(R2=0.826,t=27.42,P=0.000).The slope and intercept between defocus with static visual acuity were steeper than that between defocus and dynamic visual acuity (slope:F=34.18,P=0.000;intercept:F=1005.56,P=0.001). Conclusion The effect of defocus on static visual acuity is different from that of dynamic visual acuity. It could be speculated that dynamic visual acuity is related not only to refractive systems but also other factor.

OBJECTIVETo seek the effective treatment for peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs.
METHODSSixty-four cases of peripheral neuropathy induced by Paclitaxel or Oxaliplatin were randomly divided into an acupuncture group and a medication group, 32 cases in each group. The acupuncture group was treated with therapeutic principle of dredging meridians and collaterals, tonifying qi and eliminating blood stasis, supplementing liver and kidney, nourishing blood and tendon. Hegu (LI 4), Taichong (LR 3), Zusanli (ST 36), Qihai (CV 6) and Quchi (LI 11) etc. were selected. The medication group was treated with intramuscular injection of Cobamamide. The neurotoxicity of two groups was compared with questionnaire of peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs before and after treatment.
RESULTSThe total effective rate for sensory nerve disorder of acupuncture group was 66.7% (20/30), which was superior to that of 40.0% (12/30) in medication group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAcupuncture is more effective than Cobamamide for treatment of peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic drugs, especially for moderate and severe sensory nerve disorder induced by paclitaxel.

8.An invariant approach for image registration in digital subtraction angiography.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2006;30(1):15-14
In modern medicine, DSA is a powerful technique in visualizations of blood vessels of X-ray images. In DSA, the most important way for motion correction is image registration. In this paper, a new approach to the registration is used. It is based on means of template matching according to a combined invariants-based similarity measure and TPS image warping. Furthermore it has been improved through practice. and tests have proved to remove the motion artifacts effectively and rapidly.

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(5):450-455
Background Image clarity during near work is influenced by several factors, such as accommodative lag, pupil size and monochromatic aberrations.Since image clarity during extended reading at near distance has been cited as a possible inducement of myopia in childhood and a possible difference between myopic and emmetropic people throughout life,it is important to examine these factors in myopic and emmetropic myopic juvenile during reading at near distance. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships among wavefront aberrations, accommodative response and pupil size in early onset and progressive myopes eyes under the different reading status and explore the possible mechanism of the development of myopia as well. Methods Fiflyseven subjects aged from 12 to 16 years were enrolled and grouped as emmetropes, the onset of myopes and progressive myopes.Reading material were Chinese novels presented by rapid serial visual presentation at a distance of 25 cm. Accommodative response and pupil size were recorded by a Grand Seiko WV-500 autorefractor. The Image J software was used to calculate the pupil diameter.Wavefront aberrations were then measured with a WASCA wavefront analyzer. Results Aberrations and accommodative response showed large inter-subjeet variability. With accommodative stimulus of 4 diopter, the accommodative lag in the early-onset of myopes group and progressive myopes group were ( 1.72 ±0. 53) D and ( 1.74 ±0. 44) D, showing larger value in comparison with ( 0. 96 ±0. 55) D of emmetropes group( t=4.25 ,t=4.47 ,P<0. 001). However, there were no significant differences in accommodative lag between the early-onset of myopes group and progressive myopes group( t = 0. 18, P>0. 05). The mean value of pupil diameter, total RMS value, high-order RMS value, spherical aberration and coma were all significantly reduced with the stimulus varied from 0 D to 4 D( P<0. 01). However, none of the pupil sizs, total RMS value,high-order RMS value, spherical aberration and coma had significant difference among different refractive groups( P>0. 05). Conclusion The early-onset of myopes and progressive myopes had larger accommodative lag. The lower sensitivity to defocus at near reading distance, inducing the larger accommodative lag and hyperopic defocus may be linked to the developing myopia.

Background Epidemiologic studies found that the incidence of myopia is higher in Hong Kong and Taiwan regions of China than that of the mainland. So whether the general reading words with traditional Chinese characters and simplified characters is associated with myopia deserves attention. Objective This study was to test the accommodative responses and the regression levels of nearwork-induced transient myopia (NITM) induced by traditional complex Chinese characters and modern simplified ones in the same size, and to explore the differences and inherent relationship of the accommodative regulations based on the structures of the two types of Chinese character in causing reading triggered myopia. Methods Twenty two volunteers aged 24-29 years were included in this study with informed consent. The corrected vision of both eyes from each subject was ≥ 1.0 with a mean spherical equivalence of (-1.86±2.34)D.Accommodative response was tested with 4 different reading texts using the rapid sequence visual presenting model with the GRAND SEIKO-WV5500 infrared autorefractor, and this procedure was performed after full correction of refractive error. An initial test of looking at a certain distance was performed (as baseline),and then the subjects read intensively at the targets for 10 minutes at 33 cm to calculate the accommodative responses. After a 10 second pause, the ocular refractive status was obtained exactly at 15 seconds,20 seconds. The one-way ANOVA method was used to determine the effects of the different font types and sizes on the adjustive responses and the causation of NITM.Results Accommodative response induced by simplified and traditional Chinese characters showed an accommodative lag of (1.11 ±0.38),(0.95 ±0.43),(1.18 ±0.33) and (1.06±0.28) D,showing a significant difference among the 9 pt and 12 pt simplified and traditional Chinese characters (F =1.62,P =0.19),and significantly different accommodative lag values between 12 pt simplified characters and 9 pt traditional characters was found (t =5.56,P =0.02).NITM induced by the four different targets were (-0.45 ±0.45),(-0.47 ±0.46),(0.45 ±0.82) and (-0.46±0.78) D in the 4 types of characters, without a significant difference among them (F=0.01,P =0.99).Conclusions Near-distance reading causes accommodative lag regardless of the type of reading texts. The target demonstrated stimuli spatial frequency and font size play an impact on accommodative responses.NITM appears when one reads simplified or traditional Chinese for 10 minutes. The accommodative lag and NITM trend might be responsible for the onset or regression of myopia, yet it is not supportive for the hypothesis that reading traditional Chinese causes more strain since there is no difference between the two.
