Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Lu’s warm needling in treating perimenopausal syndrome.Methods Sixty patients with perimenopausal syndrome were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 30 cases each. The treatment group received Lu’s warm needling and the control group, conventional acupuncture. The scores of Kupperman Index (KI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), and serum estrogen (E2), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteal hormone (LH) were observed before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.Results The total efficacy rate was 80.0% in the treatment group and 53.3% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). There was a statistically significant pre-/post-treatment difference in the KI score in the two groups (P<0.01). There was a statistically significant difference in pre-/post-treatment KI score difference value between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in serum LH, FSH and E2 contents in the two groups (P<0.05). There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in the Hamilton Depression Scale score and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score in the two groups (P<0.01, P<0.05). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in the Hamilton Depression Scale score between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Lu’s warm needling is an effective way to treat perimenopausal syndrome.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of T-SPOT.TB in patients with fever.Methods T-SPOT.TB was carried out in 456 febrile patients who had no determined reason for fever or who could not be excluded from infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.These patients were followed up for their final clinical diagnosis and the diagnostic value of T-SPOT.TB was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve.Results In the present study,85 patients were clinically diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) (including 34 cases of pulmonary TB,24 cases of TB infection defined as T-SPOT.TB positive without TB lesion,but effective with anti-TB treatment,10 cases of tuberculous pleurisy and 17 cases of other extrapulmonary TB) and 371 patients had no definite evidence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (including 42 cases of suspected TB and 329 cases of other diseases).T-SPOT.TB had a high sensitivity of 84.3％ in TB patients and a high negative predictive value of 94.2 ％,but the specificity was 68.1％ and the positive predictive value was 41.4 ％.The Kappa value was 0.380 and the area under ROC curve was 0.762 (95％CI:0.707-0.817).T-SPOT.TB had a higher sensitivity in extrapulmonary TB than in pulmonary TB (88.2 ％ vs 78.1 ％),with the negative predictive values of 95.3 ％ and 92.6 ％,Kappa values of 0.438 and 0.299,and the areas under ROC of 0.791 (95 ％ CI:0.724-0.857) and 0.719 (95％CI:0.623-0.815),respectively.Ninety-nine cases were T-SPOT.TB positive out of 329 patients diagnosed with other diseases.Conclusions T-SPOT.TB test can be used as a method for TB diagnosis in patients without obvious TB lesions.Due to its relatively high negative predictive value,T-SPOT.TB can be used to rule out infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Methods22 patients with mechanical ventilation after major operation were randomly divided into control group and propofol group patient in the propofol group were continually transfused with propofol by micro pump. Clinical manifestations, blood pressure, heart rate and the concentration of epinephrine (E)and norepinephrine (NE) in patients of both groups were observed. Results The patients in propofol group were all in sleeping state, while those in the control group had evidently higher blood pressure,heart rate and the concentration of epinephrine and norepinephrine after wearing of ventilator. There was a significant difference between the two groups ( P＜0.05) . Conclusion Propofol can make the critical patients quiet and inasleepingstate,inhilitthereleaseof epinephrine and norepinephrine, which rescdt in hemodynamic stability.

Objective To examine the neural basis of item memory and source memory with fMRI approach.Methods Eight male and eight female healthy fight-handed native Chinese speakers were involved in this study.The item memory and source memory task were conducted with 504 highly frequent Chinese double-character words in the Block-designed experiment.Participants underwent such a double- round procedure as fMRI scanning following study.The fMRI data collected from a GE 1.5T MRI system were analyzed to generate corresponding activation maps for females and males respectively(P20)using statistical parametric mapping software(SPM).Results For females,item memory task activated the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(BA6,the number of activated voxel clusters was 62 or 11 in the left and the right,respectively),source memory more activated the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(BA6/46,the number was 59).For males,item memory activated the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(BA6/46,the number was 64),source memory activated the bilateral dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(BA6,9 and 40 in the left and the right).Conclusion On the neural basis of item or source memory,there exists dissociation,which is that right dorsolateral prefrontal areas are more activated by item memory while left dorsolateral prefrontal areas by source memory.For the difference of gender,it is suggested that left dorsolateral prefrontal areas(BA6/46)are more activated in females while right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(BA6/46)more in males.

To investigate the electrophysiologic characteristics of f-wave amplitude and to evaluate its role in development and persistence of chronic atrial fibrillation (AF) associated with rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Methods: Epicardial mapping was performed in 44 patients with chronic AF of RHD who underwent heart valve surgery. Ten patients with supraventricular tachycardia served as the control group. Results:The f-wave amplitude of left atrium (LA) and middle and low LA posterior regions were significantly lower than those of the control group. The f-wave amplitudes of the upper, middle and low sections in LA posterior region were significantly lower than those in right atrium (RA) (P<0.05). The f-wave amplitudes were compared before and after electrocardioversion in 14 patients with chronic AF. The mean atrial electrogram amplitude during sinus rhythm was significantly higher than that during AF (P<0.01).The f-wave amplitude in left appendage was higher than that in LA posterior region (the upper,middle and the lower part),P<0.05.The f-wave amplitude in the upper section of LA was significantly higher than that in the middle section. The f-wave amplitude in AF group was not correlated to the diameter or volume of both atria. Conclusion: There are amplitudes differences between the upper, middle and lower LA,suggesting that the middle and lower sections of LA posterior wall may be the region producing anisotropy and reentrant circle.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the factors influencing the pregnancy outcomes of artificial insemination with donor sperm (AID), improve the pregnancy rate, and evaluate the safety of the offspring.

METHODSWe retrospectively analyzed 7,761 cycles of AID for 5,109 infertile couples performed between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2013 in the Center of Reproductive Medicine of Shenyang No 204 Hospital, the outcomes of pregnancy, and the incidence of birth defects.

RESULTSTotally, 2 252 clinical pregnancies were achieved by AID, in which the pregnancy rate per cycle was 29. 02% and the cumulative pregnancy rate was 44. 08%. The clinical pregnancy rate was remarkably higher in the females of ≤ 35 years than in those of > 35 years old (30.31% vs 20.18%, P < 0.01), in the women with < 5-year infertility than in those with > 5-year infertility (30.83% vs 28.16%, P < 0.01), and in the patients of the ovarian stimulation group than in those of the natural cycle group (33.22% vs 28.68%, P < 0.01) The clinical pregnancy rate was the highest in the first treatment cycle (29.87%), with statistically significant difference from the fourth cycle (23.61%) (P < 0.05), but not between the other cycles (P > 0.05). There were 28 cases of birth defects in the offspring (1.40%), including 6 cases (21.43%) involving the cardiovascular system, 4 (14.29%) involving the musculoskeletal system, 3 (10.71%) involving the urogenital system, 3 (10.71%) involving the central nervous system, 2 cases (7.14%) of cleft lip and palate, 2 (7.14%) involving the respiratory system, 2 (7.14%) involving the gastrointestinal digestive system, and other anomalies.

CONCLUSIONFemale age, infertility duration, and ovarian stimulation treatment are important factors influencing the clinical pregnancy rate of AID. Artificial insemination with cryopreserved donor sperm does not increase the incidence of birth defects, which is considered as a relatively safe technique of assisted reproduction.

OBJECTIVETo explore correlation between lung and large intestine and the two meridians under pathological condition in the view of meridian theory.

METHODSNinety-six cases of bronchial asthma were applied palpation at the running course of 12 regular meridians under the elbow and knees and back-shu points. And abnormal reactions were recorded, the affected meridians and back-shu points were discovered.

RESULTSThe abnormal reactions most frequently appeared on the Lung Meridian, followed by the Large Intestine Meridian, the Spleen Meridian, the Liver Meridian, the Stomach Meridian and the Triple Energizer Meridian. And the unusual reaction of the back-shu points most frequently appeared on Feishu (BL 13), and Dachangshu (BL 25) and Pishu (BL 21) followed as the next two.

CONCLUSIONThe existence of correlation between the Lung Meridian and the Large Intestine Meridians under pathological condition can be proved through meridian and acupoint palpation on bronchial asthma patients.

Objective To explore the expression feature of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) 1010001N08Rik in hyperoxia-induced bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and predict the mechanism that 1010001N08Rik might be involved in the occurrence and development of BPD by a series of bioinformatics analysis.Method The sequence,genomic position and structure characteristics of 1010001N08Rik were acquired from UCSC genome browser,and its target gene was predicted by Ensemble database.We successfully established the animal model of BPD by making newborn C57BL/6J mice exposed to 95％ concentrations of ambient oxygen for seven days.The expression of 1010001N08Rik and Gata 6 were detected using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Student's t test was used to compare their expression levels during the BPD process.Result The relative expression of 1010001N08Rik in BPD process at d1,d3,d5,d7 was 1.21 ± 0.33,2.02 ± 0.41,2.95 ± 0.45,4.20-± 0.48 respectively,and there were significant difference between adjacent time points (P ＜ 0.05).The relative expression of Gata 6 mRNA was 0.92 ±0.30,1.10 ± 0.31,0.86 ± 0.24,0.45-± 0.08 respectively,and there was significant difference between d5 and d7 (P ＜0.05).1010001N08Rik had highly conserved property among different species.The chromosomal regions of 1010001N08Rik existed transcriptional factors binding locations and epigenetic regulation clues,and its possible candidate target gene was Gata 6.Conclusion The expression of 1010001N08Rik increased during the formation process of BPD.Bioinformatics analysis and preliminary experiment results suggested that 1010001N08Rik might participate in the process of BPD by down-regulating Gata 6 expression.

Objective A major component of flow cytometry data analysis involves gating , which is the process of identifying homogeneous groups of cells .As manual gating is error-prone, non-reproducible, nonstandardized, and time-consuming , we propose a time-efficient and accurate approach to automated analysis of flow cytometry data .Methods Unlike manual analysis that successively gates the data projected onto a two-dimensional filed, this approach, using the K-means clustering results , directly analyzed multidimensional flow cytometry data via a similar subpopulations-merged algorithm.In order to apply the K-means to analysis of flow cytometric data , kernel density estimation for selecting the initial number of clustering and k-d tree for optimizing efficiency were proposed .After K-means clustering , results closest to the true populations could be achieved via a two-segment line regression algorithm .Results The misclassification rate (MR) was 0.0736 and time was 2 s in Experiment One, but was 0.0805 and 1 s respectively in Experiment Two. Conclusion The approach we proposed is capable of a rapid and direct analysis of the multidimensional flow cytometry data with a lower misclassification rate compared to both nonprobabilistic and probabilistic clustering methods .
