To investigate the electrophysiologic characteristics of f-wave amplitude and to evaluate its role in development and persistence of chronic atrial fibrillation (AF) associated with rheumatic heart disease (RHD). Methods: Epicardial mapping was performed in 44 patients with chronic AF of RHD who underwent heart valve surgery. Ten patients with supraventricular tachycardia served as the control group. Results:The f-wave amplitude of left atrium (LA) and middle and low LA posterior regions were significantly lower than those of the control group. The f-wave amplitudes of the upper, middle and low sections in LA posterior region were significantly lower than those in right atrium (RA) (P<0.05). The f-wave amplitudes were compared before and after electrocardioversion in 14 patients with chronic AF. The mean atrial electrogram amplitude during sinus rhythm was significantly higher than that during AF (P<0.01).The f-wave amplitude in left appendage was higher than that in LA posterior region (the upper, middle and the lower part),P<0.05.The f-wave amplitude in the upper section of LA was significantly higher than that in the middle section. The f-wave amplitude in AF group was not correlated to the diameter or volume of both atria. Conclusion: There are amplitudes differences between the upper, middle and lower LA,suggesting that the middle and lower sections of LA posterior wall may be the region producing anisotropy and reentrant circle.

By analyzing the epidemiological and clinical features of adenovirus in children with acute respiratory tract infection (ARTI), we provide a theoretical basis for early clinical diagnosis and treatment. Nasopharyngeal secretions were collected from 3480 children with ARTI, who were hospitalized at the No. 2 Hospital of Changzhou from January 2011 to December 2012. Adenovirus were detected using direct immunofluorescence assays. A total of 80 samples were positive for adenovirus (2.30%). The rate of adenovirus infection during 2011 was significantly higher than that in 2012, and the infection rate was higher in summer and autumn than in winter and spring. The infection rate was 1.14% among children aged < 1-year-old and the rates were higher among children in other age ranges. Adenovirus was found to be an important ARTI pathogen in children in Changzhou, mainly affecting children older than 1 year. ADV infections have various clinical presentations, but affected children tend to be severely ill with poor outcomes.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2021;33(4):325-331
Objective:
To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of notifiable infectious diseases reported in Zhejiang Province in 2020 for prevention and control.
Methods:
Data of notifiable infectious diseases reported in Zhejiang Province in 2020 were extracted from China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention. The incidence and death of notifiable infectious diseases were analyzed and compared with the averages from 2015 to 2019; then the characteristics of some key diseases such as coronavirus disease 2019 ( COVID-19 ), influenza and other infectious diarrhea were summarized.
Results:
Totally 487 271 cases of 30 kinds of infectious diseases were reported. The incidence and mortality rate was 832.94/100 000 and 0.615 4/100 000, which were 7.05% and 14.60% lower than the average value of 2015-2019.The weekly morbidity of Class A and Class B infectious diseases fluctuated between 1.24/100 000 and 3.68/100 000, and hit the bottom in the sixth to eighth week. The morbidity of Class C infectious diseases was 154.19/100 000 in the first week, then dropped to 4.83/100 000 in the second to sixth week and maintained at a low level. High morbidity of infectious diseases were reported in Hangzhou ( 1 412.62/100 000 ), Jinhua ( 960.35/100 000 ) and Ningbo ( 921.25/100 000 ). The morbidity of class C infectious diseases in Hangzhou was 1 248.80/100 000, which was far higher than that of other ten prefecture-level cities. The diseases with high reported morbidity were influenza (438.45/100 000), other infectious diarrhea (140.29/100 000 ), hand-foot-and-mouth disease ( 99.64/100 000 ), pulmonary tuberculosis ( 41.92/100 000 ), syphilis (41.37/100 000) and viral hepatitis ( 30.48/100 000 ). More deaths were reported in AIDS and pulmonary tuberculosis, and the mortality were 0.482 1/100 000 and 0.116 2/100 000. A total of 1 306 confirmed cases, 302 asymptomatic infections and 1 death of COVID-19 were reported.
Conclusion
In 2020, the incidence rate of notifiable infectious diseases in Zhejiang decreased compared with the average value of 2015-2019. Pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis and hepatitis B still have high morbidity, and the COVID-19 epidemic spread widely. The morbidity of some respiratory infectious diseases and imported infectious diseases have dropped significantly compared with previous years.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2018;22(12):1962-1968
BACKGROUND: Acupuncture is a common treatment for urinary retention after spinal cord injury. It has been widely used in the clinical treatment of urinary retention after spinal cord injury due to its small side effects and simple operation. However, there is a lack of evidence-based medicine. OBJECTIVE: To examine the effectiveness of acupuncture for urinary retention in patients with spinal cord injury by a systematic review and Meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). METHODS: A computer-based online retrieval of CBM, CNKI, WanFang, Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases was performed. The keywords were "spinal cord injury, neurogenic bladder, acupuncture" in English and Chinese, respectively. RCTs concerning acupuncture or acupuncture combined with conventional therapy were identified and a Meta-analysis was conducted on RevMan 5.3 software. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Nine RCTs involving 632 participants were included. In terms of urodynamic changes, compared with the control group, acupuncture was more effective in improving the residual urine volume[mean difference(MD)=-144.26,95% confidence interval(CI)(-252.15,-36.37),P=0.009]and maximum cystometric capacity[MD=35.69,95%CI(3.15,68.22),P=0.03].However,there were no significant differences between two groups for average daily number of urination[MD=-1.66,95% CI(-3.40,0.07),P=0.06].Concerning total effective rate, acupuncture was more effective than control group[RR=1.24,95%CI(1.11,1.37),P<0.0001].To conclude, compared with the conventional therapy, acupuncture is more effective in improving residual urine volume, maximum cystometric capacity and total effective rate for urinary retention in patients with spinal cord injury.

Objective To analyze the characteristics, electroencephalographic(EEG)features, neuroimaging findings, therapeutic effects and prognoses of 114 cases of idiopathic nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy (NFLE). Methods The clinical data of 114 patients with idiopathic NHLE admitted in the epilepsy outpatient department from June,1999 to January,2007 were collected and analyzed. Results Idiopathic NFLE was clinically characterized by nocturnal clustered, postural or dystonic seizures and complex motor activities. The interictal routine EEG in 22.9% and dynamic EEG in 28% of the cases in wakefuIness and the interictal dynamic EEG in 38% of tbe cases in sleep showed frontal lobe epileptiform discharge, which was found in the EEG during seizure attacks in66.7% of the cases.Drug therapy was effeclive in 79.8% of the cases.with 29.7% of the cases showing complete seizure control. Conclusions Idiopathic NFLE has distinct clinical features wim relatively low rate of EEG abnormality during seizure attack or the interictal period.Frontal lobe epilepsy is more likely to occur in sleep, and sleep EEG is therefore of much importance in the diagnosis of idiopathic NFLE.
