Journal of Practical Stomatology 2009;25(6):791-793
Objective; To evaluate the effects of gingival shade guide in visual shade-matching in vitro models. Methods; 42 tabs of Shofu NCC shade guide were adopted for color measuring. Each tab was fixed in the middle of Gingiva-Indicator, Guray(1,2,3,4) respectively and located in a black box. The measurements were made using the Shadepilot instrument. The color parameters ( CIE1976L * a * b * ) of cervical, body, incisal area of each tab were recorded. The color difference A E value in the same position of each tab was calculated between non-gingival shade guide group and Gumyl ,2,3,4 groups with Shadepilot software. Results; The AE value in the same position of 42 tabs between non-gingival shade guide group and 4 gingival shade guide groups were; cervical (2.93±0.79)NBS,body(0.51±0.27)NBS and incisal(0.61 ±0.29)NBS. In the cervical, body and incisal area, there was no statistically difference among Gumyl ,2,3,4 groups on affecting shade of tabs(P >0. 05). Conclusion; The gingival color has an effect on the cervical shade of tabs, and it can be recognized by human eyes, while gingival color has little effect on the shade of body and incisal area.

Injectable bone tissue engineering scaffold material has a certain form and mechanical strength. It can be loaded with seed cells for injection to the defected site of bone tissue in the form of fluid. After that, structural recovery and functional reconstruction are achieved, and the new bone is formed ultimately. This material has the characteristics of small trauma and good plasticity. It can repair the irregular bone defects and well associate with growth factor, which is the ideal method for repairing bone tissue defects up to now.Among the various injectable bone tissue engineering materials, bioceramic materials, polymer materials, etc.have been proved to have a high biological compatibility and good mechanical properties. That makes these materials become the focus of current research in bone tissue engineering materials. In this paper, the development and application of bioceramic materials, polymer materials, bioceramics and polymer composites were reviewed.

OBJECTIVETo compare the efficacy difference of analgesia and detumescence on ankle sprain among acupuncture at Xiaojie point combined with tendon regulation manipulation, acupuncture at Xiaojie point and tendon regulation manipulation.
METHODSSixty cases of ankle sprain were randomized into a combined therapy group, a Xiaojie point group and a tendon-regulation manipulation group, 20 cases in each one. The combined therapy of acupuncture at Xiaojie point and tendon regulation manipulation, the acupuncture at Xiaojie point and the simple application of tendon-regulation manipulation were applied respectively in the three groups, once a day, 3 treatments were required. The symptom score such as pain, ecchymosis, swelling and motor dysfunction and the total score were observed before and after treatment in the three groups. The different values of pain and swelling scores were compared before and after treatment in the three groups. The efficacy was compared among the groups.
RESULTSThe total effective rate was 100.0% (20/20) in each group. But the curative rate was 85.0% (17/20) in the combined group, 65.0% (13/20) in the Xiaojie point tion manipulation group. After treatment, the symptom scores of pain, ecchymosis, swelling and motor dysfunction and the total score were all improved as compared with those before treatment in the three groups (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The pain score in either the combined therapy group or Xiaojie point group was lower than that in the tendon-regulation manipulation group after treatment (0.20 -/+ 0.41, 0.15 +/- 0.37 vs 0.60 +/- 0.50, both P < 0.05). Swelling score in the Xiaojie point group was different significantly from that in the tendon-regulation manipulation 0.49 vs 06.4 vs. 20+0.41, P < 0.05). The different value of pain score in either the combined therapy group or Xiaojie point group was higher than that in the tendon-regulation manipulation group before group after treatment (0.65 bined therapy group or Xiaojie point group was higher than that in the tendon-regulation manipulation group before and after treatment (2.35 +/- 0.59, 2.45 +/- 0.51 vs 2.00 +/- 0.46, both P < 0.05). The different value of swelling score in the tendon-regulation manipulation group was higher than that in the Xiaojie point group before and after treatment (2.30 +/- 0.57 vs 1.60 +/- 0.60, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAcupuncture at Xiaojie point combined with tendon-regulation manipulation achieve an apparent effect of analgesia and detumescence on ankle sprain.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1993;0(03):-
Objective To study the screening value of color doppler flow imaging (CDFI) for gastroesophageal reflux(GER).Methods Through the window of left lobe liver, the abdominal esophageal length, the phenomenon of GER and the frequency of GER were detected by CDFI in 55 children with GER and 55 control group. Results Abdominal esophagus was identified by CDFI in every children. The abdominal esophageal length was shorter in refluxers than that in control group. A significant correlation was found between its length and the age of control group. To diagnose GER with CDFI ,its accuracy was 98.18%,and its specificity was 76.36%.Conclusions Visualization and measurements of the abdominal esophagus are readily achieved with CDFI in children.Abdominal esophageal length is shorter in refluxers than that in control group. CDFI is a rapid method of screening GER.

Objective To study whether gastric liquid emptying is delayed in children with gastroesophageal reflux and its clinical significance. Methods At different times after meal, the gastric antral diameters were measured by real - time ultrasonography in 55 children with gastroesophageal reflux and 55 controls. Results At 20 min,60 min after meal , there was a significant difference in gastric emptying rate between case groups and control groups, respectively(P

Objective To study the serum levels of melatonin, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interferon gamma (IFN-γ) in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and the correlation with disability. Methods Forty patients with multiple sclerosis were collected as MS group and 30 healthy participants were collected as control group.Serum levels of melatonin and cytokines, including IFN-γ and TNF-,were detected in all participants by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method;disability status of patients with MS was evaluated by EDSS scale. The relevant analysis between serum melatonin,TNF-α,IFN-γ levels and EDSS score in patients with MS was conducted. Results The concentration of serum melatonin in MS group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.01).TNF-α levels were higher than control group (P<0.05) and the difference was statistically significant between MS patients and control group.Among MS group and control group,no significant correlation with the serum levels of IFN-γ was seen. The serum melatonin level was inversely correlated with EDSS score in MS patients (r =-0.76,P<0.01),and positively correlated with TNF-α (r =0.83,P<0.01) and as compared to IFN-γ,no significant correlation was found (r =0.17,P>0.05).Conclusion The decrease of melatonin and increase of TNF-α can be a factor in the inflammatory reaction in patients with MS,and is closely related with dysfunction occurring in multiple sclerosis.Serum melatonin and TNF-α can be used as laboratory indicators to monitor clinical curative effect and evaluate prognosis of MS.
