Bromidrosis is a disorder characterized by rancid body odor which influences a patient's social life and mental health. The therapeutic modalities and the mechanism of bromidrosis have been carefully studied, however, there have been few reports about the genetic inheritance of bromidrosis. We investigated the family history of 42 patients who were operated on for bromidrosis and followed up to the third generation in 10 cases. The results were as follows: Results of investigation which were followed up the second generation. The fathers of five patients and the mothers of 11 patients had bromidrosis in 18 male patients. The fathers of six patients and the mothers of 12 patients had bromidrosis in 24 female patients. Thirty-four patient (81.0%) among a total of 42 have a single parent with bromidrosis. Result of investigation which were followed up to the third generation Bromidrosis was occurred in 17 of 42 patients (40.5%) in the second generation, and 18 of 27 patients (66.7%) in the third generation. In one case, a father transmitted bromidrosis to his three sons, and as a result, X-linked inheritance could be ruled out Bromidrosis was not skipped in every generation of all families. We on conclude that bromidrosis is an autosomal dominant inherited disorder.

2.A Case of the Posterior Lenticonus.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1976;17(3):341-345
Posterior lenticonus is rather uncommon abnormality in which a prominent spheroidal elevation extends into vitrous from smooth posterior surface of the lens. The author has recently experienced a case of posterior lenticonus in a 25- year old Korean man. The sharply circumscribed lenticonus manifested a startling brilliance. The base of the lesion was ill outlined and an arc-like opacity of posterior lens capsule surrounded the lesion. At the base of protrusion were flecks of brownish pigment.
3.Reconstruction of the Lacrimal Canaliculus.
Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1976;17(1):71-76
From September 1973 to October 1975, author had experienced two cases of congenital canaliculus atresia and eight of traumatic canalicus lacerations, and repaired them by means of the Pigtail probe of Worst inserted through a polyethylene tube (size of which being 46, I.D. 016" O.D. 031"). The length of time to leave the polyethylene tube in place had been six to eight weeks. Z plasty was performed to prevent cicatrical contraction of the lower lid. Two cases of congenital canaliculus atresia became reobstructed two weeks after removal of the tube which were accidentally slipped out. In a single case in which Z pIasty was not performed, the patient continued to complain of lacrimation due to cicatrical contraction in the lower lid margin medial to the punctum. The canaliculus, however, demonstrated the patency as evidenced by nasal drainage of fluid syringed into the punctum.

Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing 2015;45(1):1-13
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric quality and feasibility of measurements for screening dysphagia in older adults to identify the 'right tool' for nurses to use in nursing homes. METHODS: A systematic review was done. Electronic databases were searched for studies related to dysphagia screening measurements. A checklist was used to evaluate the psychometric quality and applicability. Tools were evaluated for feasible incorporation into routine care by nurses. RESULTS: 29 tools from 31 studies were identified. Dysphagia screening tools with an acceptable validity and reliability had sensitivity between 68% and 100% and specificity between 52% and 100%. The Gugging Swallowing Screen (GUSS) and the Standardized Swallowing Assessment (SSA) were the tools with high psychometric quality, especially with high sensitivity, that nurses could perform feasibly to identify the risk and to grade the severity of dysphagia and aspiration of nursing home residents. CONCLUSION: Results show that GUSS and SSA are reliable and sensitive tools for screening dysphagia which nurses can use in nursing homes. Further research is needed to examine feasibility of screening with identified tools, and also, to establish effective and standardized protocols for these tools so they can be effectively incorporated into routine care.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1977;18(1):109-115
The authors have recently experienced a case of cysticercosis within the posterior chamber in a 25 year-old Korean woman. Using a Goldmann's 3-mirror contact lens, we detected a typical larva which was located behind the iris, between the anterior surface of the zonule and outer side of the ciliary process. Surgical removal of the cysticercus was performed from the posterior edge 4mm sclerotomy through the pars plana on the temporal side of the left eye. The characteristic scolex with suckers discovered on post-operative histologic section confirmed the diagnosis. Six months after operation, visual acuity improved from finger count 20cm to 20/30.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1976;17(4):563-566
Persistent remnants of the pupillary membrane are common but a thick dense persistent pupillary membrane covering all or most of pupil is not often encountered. The authors have recently experienced a case of extensive persistent pupillary membrane in a 4 year-old Korean boy. A well-formed membrane run out from the lesser circle may strectch across the pupil it to a greater exent. This may be provided with five to six irregular apertures. Optical iridotomy was performed in left eye with improvement of vision from L.P to 20/30.

The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology 2014;64(1):45-48
Endoscopic tattooing with India ink is generally regarded as a safe procedure that enables ready identification of endoluminal cancer from the serosal surface. However, significant complications have been reported, including local inflammatory pseudotumor formation, peritonitis, rectus muscle abscess, small bowel infarction, and phlegmonous gastritis. Although the mechanism of complication is not completely understood, it may be related to the chemical compounds contained in the ink solution and enteric or extraenteric bacterial inoculation by injection needle or the ink itself. Authors encountered a case of a 60-year-old man with a resectable sigmoid colon cancer which was tattooed with India ink for subsequent localization in the intraoperative setting. During the laparoscopic operation, the proximal and distal margin of the lesion appeared edematous with bluish color. The distal resection margin was extended approximately 5 cm more than expected because of long extent of edematous mucosa. Histologic examination of the edematous tattooing area revealed an ink abscess spreading laterally above the muscularis propria. Although tattooing is widely used and relatively safe, the presented case indicates the risk of infection or inflammation by tattooing.

Child Health Nursing Research 2017;23(3):394-404
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to review interventions available to nurses caring for siblings of children with cancer. METHODS: Searches of CINAHL, MEDLINE, PubMed, EMBASE, and RISS identified ten intervention studies published from January, 2000 to November, 2016. RESULTS: Ten studies on interventions for siblings of pediatric cancer patients were identified as follows: 4 included camps, 4 included support groups, and 2 provided individual interventions. Theoretical frameworks were mainly cognitive behavioral theory and most studies were led by psychologists and multidisciplinary teams. The purpose of the interventions was primarily enhancing psychosocial adjustment. Siblings' fear of disease, self-esteem, and social support were improved significantly after the interventions. Findings were inconsistent with regard to depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, post-traumatic stress, health-related quality of life, and siblings' perceptions of the illness. CONCLUSION: Study findings showed the potential for enhancing emotional and behavioral outcomes in siblings of children with cancer. However, the number of studies was very small, and several methodological limitations were identified. In the future, more randomized controlled trials with larger samples are needed to extend the evidence base. Moreover, future research should identify sibling's characteristics and circumstances most likely to bring benefits to the siblings.

The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology 2014;63(6):369-372
Lipomas are common benign tumors of mature adipose tissue, enclosed by thin fibrous capsules. They can occur on any part of the body; however, peritoneal lipoma is extremely rare. We encountered a case of a 75-year-old man presenting with intermittent abdominal pain, who had undergone right hemicolectomy due to colon cancer. Abdominal computerized tomography showed a well-defined heterogenous fatty mass measuring 4.5x3.5 cm in size, suggesting fat necrosis located in the abdominal wall. Laparotomy showed a very large soft mass of peritoneum. Pathologically, the tumor was diagnosed as lipoma containing fat necrosis located in parietal peritoneum not fixed to any organs, but with small bowel adhesion. Due to its rare etiologic origin and obscure cause of development, we report on a case of lipoma of parietal peritoneum causing abdominal pain.

Clinical Endoscopy 2014;47(4):358-361
Xanthoma is an uncommon nonneoplastic lesion resulting from the accumulation of histiocytes. It predominantly shows cutaneous manifestations associated with dyslipidemia. However, xanthoma of the esophagus is extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, only 14 cases have been reported thus far. The clinical significance of this lesion has not been established. However, this lesion should be distinguished grossly from ectopic sebaceous glands and small subepithelial tumors such as carcinoid and granular cell tumor. Moreover, signet ring cell carcinoma, which contains round cells with abundant cytoplasm and has similar histologic features to xanthoma, should be distinguished microscopically.
