Objective To explore the morphological changes of human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs) after exposure to extracorporeal shock wave(ESW).Methods An optimal experimental energy dose of ESW was applied to hMSCs of passage one.The morphological changes were examined by using inverted phase contrast microscope(IPCM),transmission electron microscope and cytochemical staining.Results ESW of 5kV and 100 times could raise the viability and proliferation of the cells.In the hMSCs of passage 3-5,the multiplicative division was speeded up,and the cells in the nuclear fission phase were increased.In the hMSCs of passage 7-9,the volume of the cells increased,and the endoplasmic reticulum was expanded.The Golgi's apparatus was developed and the matrix of the cells was bunchy.In the hMSCs of passage 11,the multiplicative division was also detected.Conclusion The proliferation and differentiation of the hMSCs can be improved by the treatment of ESW.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of anatomic plate internal fixation in treatment of complex proximal humeral fractures combined with humeral shaft fractures.Methods This retrospective case series study included 58 patients with complex proximal humeral fractures combined with humeral shaft fractures admitted from July 1998 to July 2015.There were 31 males and 27 females,with a mean age of 63 years (range,18-86 years).According to the Neer classification of proximal humeral fractures,three-part fractures were noted in 42 patients and four-part fractures in 16 patients.Four patients were combined with compressed or splitting fractures of the head of humerus and 38 patients with dislocation of the shoulder.According to the site classification of femoral shaft fractures,proximal 1/3 shaft fractures were noted in 36 patients,middle and distal 1/3 shaft fractures in 19,and multisegmental shaft fractures in three.All patients underwent anatomic reduction and anatomic plate internal fixation.Bone healing,Neer score of function outcome and complications were evaluated after operation.Results Mean duration of follow-up was 8.6 years (range,1-18 years).Bone union was observed in all patients after 10 to 24 weeks (mean,14.5 weeks).According to the Neer score,the outcomes were excellent in 23 patients,good in 25,fair in eight and poor in two,with the excellent rate of 83 ％.Complications such as infection,nerve injury and vascular injury were not observed after operation.Six patients suffered from limitations of shoulder anterior flexion and rise,one patient had humeral head necrosis and treated by shock wave treatment,and one patient had poor incision healing with hemorrhagic effusion and cured after dressing.Conclusion Anatomic plate internal fixation can contribute to fast functional recovery and few complications in treatment of complex proximal humeral fractures combined with humeral shaft fractures.

Objective To optimize the extraction process of volatile oil and inclusion preparation of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin from compoundJinling Sini Siwu Shixiaosan Granules.Methods The orthogonal approach of L9 (34) was applied to investigate the volume of volatile oil extraction by 3 factors to obtain the optimum extraction conditions. With inclusion rate of volatile oil and yield of inclusion compound as comprehensive evaluation indexes, the optimum preparation conditions were discussed. The characterization of this prepared inclusion was analyzed by TLC.Results The optimum extraction conditions were as follows:the crude medicine with medicinal powder was shattered into 20 meshes;8 times the amount of water was added and was extracted for 8 h. The best inclusion conditions were as follows:the proportion of volatile oil to HP-β-CD was 1∶6, with inclusion temperature of 30℃, grinding time of 2 h. Analysis results of TLC showed that stable inclusion compound was formed from volatile oil and HP-β-CD.Conclusion The optimized extraction process and inclusion preparation are with stable quality and high feasibility.

An instrument for subjective measurement of tonic accommodation has been established based on the Badal system and Scheiner principle. The results of tonic accommodation between subjective measurement and objective measurement have no significant difference. Its establishment is important for the measurement of accommodation parameter in the myopia research center.

Objective To study the level of serum lipids and body-fat content of high-fat diet induced pbesity rats(DIO).explore the relationship between intracellular caleium and ventrieufar arrhythmia.Methods Sixty male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were divided into control group(15)and experiment group(45),high-fat diet was administrated for 12 weeks to established obesity model,15 rats were selected into obesity group according to their body weight gain.The standard 2-lead electrocardiograph was used to detect the incidence and scores of arrhythmia induced by barium chloride(BaCl2,0.1 mg/kg)for 1 hour on every 8 rats from different groups respectively.Body-fat content.the level of serum total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipopmtein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high density lipopmtein cholesterol (HDL-C)were measured.The epididymal(EP),retroperitoneal (RE) and mesenteric(ME)white adipose pads was measured to obtain the body fat content.Single ventricular myrocytes of rats were isolated by enzymatic dissociation.The confocal laser scanning microscope was used to record basic intraceUular calcium level([Ca2+]i).Results The body-fat content in obesity group[(7.71±0.74)%] was significantly higher than control group[(4.69±0.37)%](t＝3.650,P＜0.05).The level of serum TC,TGand LDL-C were significantly higher(t＝3.801,2.778,3.536.P＜0.05) in obesity group[(1.26±0.04),(0.58±0.10),(0.51±0.04)mmol/L]than those in control group[(0.92±0.08),(0.29+0.03),(0.31±0.04) mmol/L].The level of serum HDL-C wa8 decreased gradually from control group[(0.53±0.05)mmol/L] toobesity group[(0.52±0.02)mmol/L],but there waft no significant difference between them(t＝0.186,P＞0.05).The incidence of arrhythmia induced by BaCl2(0.1 mg/kg)in obesity group was significantly higher than controlgroup(X2＝5.333,P＜0.05),and the scores of arrhythmla was increased in obesity group(2.5±0.6)too.The fluorescence intensity standing for[Ca2+]i was increased significantly(t＝2.409,P＜0.05)from obesity group(247.96±20.03)to control group (174.25±23.13).Conclusion As the free cytosolic calcium begin to accumulate,the arrhythmia morbidity is increased in obesity rats.

OBJECTIVESTo discuss the diagnostic approaches of neurogenic erectile dysfunction(ED), and to improve the diagnostic efficacy.

METHODSTwo hundred and one patients with ED were evaluated by physical examination, IIEF-5, intracavernous injection, colour duplex ultrasonography and bulbocavernosus reflex latency, respectively.

RESULTSAmong those ED patients, 173, 201, 106, 57 and 27 cases had undergone above-mentioned examines, 13 neurogenic ED and 188 miscellaneous(and unknown-causes) ED were diagnosed.

CONCLUSIONSNeurogenic erectile dysfunction is a common disorder, the diagnostic approaches should be based on patient's situation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the knowledge of and attitude to sexual dysfunction in aged men, and to discuss the status and needs of male healthcare.

METHODSTwo thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight men (40-70 years old) were surveyed on sexual dysfunction using the randomized questionnaire in Xicheng District, Beijing.

RESULTSThe prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) was 41.2%, and only 12.1% ED patients were to see the doctor. 52.4% aged men thought the sexual life was important or very important during the life, and 55.6% thought ED would exert negative impact on the quality of life and the partner relationship. Although 27.4% knew that ED was a kind of disease, 49.0% thought ED was a nature rule. Compare to the 41.2% ED prevalence, only 9.7% male were dissatisfied with their sexual life, and later ratio was 14.1% among the partner.

CONCLUSIONIn China, the status of the knowledge of and attitude to sexual dysfunction in aged men was unsatisfactory to some extent. There is a lot of work to do especially in sexual healthcare education and improvement on diagnostic and treatment of sexual dysfunction.

OBJECTIVESTo discuss the therapeutic choices of erectile dysfunction (ED) and to improve the therapeutic efficacy for different ED cases.

METHODSTwo hundred and twenty-seven patients with ED were treated repectively with psychological treatment(31 cases), oral testosterone(30 cases), Viagra(121 cases), psychological treatment + Viagra (16 cases), intraurethral PGE1 (8 cases) and intracavemous injection(21 cases).

RESULTSAmong those ED patients, 142 (62.6%) cases reported improved erections after they had undergone above-mentioned therapies. The improved patients include 12 cases(38.7%) with psychological treatment, 9 cases (30.0%) with oral testosterone, 91 cases (75.2%) with Viagra, 13 cases (81.3%) with psychological and Viagar, 2 cases (25.0%) with intraurethral PGE1 and 21 cases (71.4%) with intracavemous injection.

CONCLUSIONSED is a highly individualized disease, therapeutic choices of ED based on patient's situation can benefit those patients.

AIMTo determine the age-adjusted prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) in 3 big cities of China and to explore its potential sociodemographic, medical and lifestyle correlates.

METHODSA cross-sectional, population-based survey was conducted in three cities of China. Structured questionnaires were administered to 2 226 men, aged 20 - 86 years, by trained interviewers.

RESULTSThe age-adjusted prevalence of ED was 28.34 % (mild 15.99 %, moderate 7.14 %, severe 5.21 %). In the men above 40, the prevalence was 40.2 %. Age was positively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Education was negatively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Spouse companionship, living condition were positively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Histories of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia were positively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Cigarette smoking was not correlated with ED (P>0.05), while the cigarette consumption and duration were positively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Alcohol drinking is negatively correlated with ED (P<0.01). The duration of drinking was positively correlated with ED (P<0.01). Weekly alcohol consumption was not correlated with ED (P>0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe prevalence of ED increased with age. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hyperlipidemia were positively correlated with the increased prevalence. Sociodemographic and lifestyle factors, such as education, spouse companionship, living condition, cigarette and alcohol consumption or duration also have association with the prevalence of ED.

Objective To analyze the relationships between MRI image changes of lateral pterygoid muscle (LPM) , disc position and condylar mobility. Methods Twenty Class Ⅱ1 patients were chosen and MRI images of LPM were taken. The relationships between MRI image changes of LPM, disc position and condylar mobility were analyzed. Results The rate of MRI image changes of LPM in Class Ⅱ1 patients was about 45%. No significant correlations were found between MRI image changes of LPM, condylar mobility and disc position. Conclusions MRI image changes of LPM in Class Ⅱ1 patients was common hut no significant correlations were found between MRI image changes of LPM, condylar mobility and disc position.
