3.Allergen Specific Immunotherapy in Allergic Rhinitis.
Journal of Rhinology 2004;11(1, 2):5-11
The allergen specific immunotherapy is the only valuable method to modify a natural course of disease in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. This has been used for the treatment of allergic diseases such as rhinitis and asthma since the beginning of the 20th century. Many different methods have been developed and are being developing in the immunotherapy field. But classical allergen specific injection immunotherapy is still the most widely used one in the world. And the mechanism of this therapy has been revealed by a lot of research, which has been concluded to modify the T cell response to allergen exposure. It generally is indicated for patients who have a clinically relevant IgE-mediated disease, especially in whom environmental control and pharmacotherapy inadequately treat the symptoms. Recently, the indications of immunotherapy are getting wider. The efficacy and duration is not standardized yet. And newly discovered antigen and alteration of allergen should be considered as important factors to evaluate the patients and initiate the immunotherapy. The development of standardization of extract and well-organized schedules of injection reduce the risk of complications of immunotherapy. The scope of this review is to highlight the recent information and practical approach of the allergen specific injection immunotherapy.

Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2023;57(3):327-332
Chest tightness variant asthma (CTVA) is a special type of asthma with chest tightness as the only or main symptom. Due to the lack of typical asthma symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and positive signs in chest, it is easy to be missed or misdiagnosed in clinical practice. The onset of chest tightness variant asthma is insidious, and there is few research and attention both domestic and international, so there is no unified diagnosis and treatment standard especially in childhood asthma. This article expounds the related research advances in chest tightness variant asthma, in order to increase clinical attention and provide reference and basis for the prevention of the disease as well as the formulation of diagnosis and treatment strategies.

6.The focus problems of diagnosis and therapy in pediatric asthma.
Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2013;15(8):601-603
Childhood asthma is the most common chronic airway inflammation disease. The phenotypes of childhood wheezing, early diagnosis of asthma and the difficulties in diagnosis, tailor-made treatment and monitoring are focus problems at present. Early diagnosis, tailor-made treatment and dynamic monitoring are key strategies of asthma control.

9.Pharmacotherapy in the management of asthma in the elderly: a review of clinical studies
Mi Yeong KIM ; Woo Jung SONG ; Sang Heon CHO
Asia Pacific Allergy 2016;6(1):3-15
Asthma in the elderly is a disease with emerging concern. Despite some recent advances in our understanding of epidemiology and pathophysiology, there is a considerable lack of clinical evidence specific to elderly patients. Currently available high quality clinical evidence has been mostly obtained from younger adults, but rarely from elderly patients. Under-representation of elderly patients in previous randomized trials may have been due to being, old age, or having comorbidities. Thus, a question may be raised whether current clinical evidence could be well generalized into elderly patients. Further clinical trials should address clinical issues raised in elderly population. In this review, we aimed to overview the efficacy and safety of pharmacological management, and also to summarize the literature relevant to elderly asthma.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2023;48(8):2068-2076
Shegan Mahuang Decoction has been used in clinical practice for thousands of years, and is a classical formula for treating asthma and other respiratory diseases, with the effects of ventilating lung, dispersing cold, and relieving cough and asthma. This paper summarized the history, clinical application and mechanism of Shegan Mahuang Decoction, and predicted its quality markers(Q-markers) based on the "five principles" of Q-markers. The results suggested that irisflorentin, tectoridin, tectorigenin, irigenin, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, asarinin, methyleugenol, shionone, epifriedelanol, tussilagone, 6-gingerol, trigonelline, cavidine, schizandrin, and schizandrin B could be used as Q-markers of Shegan Mahuang Decoction, which provided a basis for the quality control and subsequent research and development of Shegan Mahuang Decoction.
